Updated 18 September 2026

Few cities usher in the New Year with quite the same electricity as Toronto. As midnight approaches on NYE 2026, fireworks burst over the harbour and the iconic CN Tower lights up the skyline in a display that stops the city in its tracks. The best way to witness it? From a table with a view — whether that is a rooftop in Yorkville, a soaring perch above the Financial District, or a waterfront spot right on Lake Ontario. Toronto’s dining scene has never been more varied or more ambitious, and the city’s top restaurants with views make the countdown feel genuinely earned. Whether the plan is a MICHELIN-starred tasting menu or lakeside craft beers, there is a table here for every kind of New Year’s Eve celebration.

Explore the best restaurants with a view in Toronto, book on OpenTable, and earn loyalty points for every single reservation.

Contemporary Italian
Harbourfront

Perched on the 38th floor of the Westin Harbour Castle, right on the edge of Lake Ontario, Don Alfonso 1890 commands sweeping views of the harbour and city skyline that are tailor-made for the NYE fireworks. This is Toronto’s only North American Italian restaurant to hold a MICHELIN star — an honour it has earned across multiple consecutive years — and it carries the legacy of the legendary Iaccarino family restaurant on the Amalfi Coast. Chef de cuisine Davide Ciavattella brings that tradition to the Harbourfront with a precision-led menu that moves through cured smoked amberjack with chive yogurt and orange emulsion, handmade tortelli filled with Andria DOP burrata and Sicilian red prawn tartare, and organic Manitoba bison tenderloin with wild Ontario mushrooms and Italian black truffle. Reserve early — a NYE 2026 table here is among the hardest to secure in the city.

Don Alfonso was an exquisite experience from start to finish. The interior is gorgeous and the atmosphere was lively for a Friday night. It was my first time and I was blown away by the service and the presentation of the courses. Olivia was an incredible server who made my experience 10/10 once she realized I was celebrating a new milestone in my career. She went above and beyond in every aspect, while being knowledgeable about each dish and charming with her delivery. I enjoyed the L’Anatra, the Linguine and the Bisonte with a dark chocolate almond cake with vanilla ice cream as my meal. My night was ended with a lovely tour of the restaurant to celebrate the history and identity of Don Alfonso provided by Olivia herself. It was an unforgettable night and I will always recommend Don Alfonso 1890 for a night of elegance and celebration.

Californian
Entertainment District

Forty-four floors above the Entertainment District at the Bisha Hotel, KŌST offers one of the highest rooftop dining perches in Toronto — unobstructed panoramic views of the skyline that put the NYE 2026 fireworks front and centre. Executive chef Sung Won Hwang leads a kitchen rooted in the bright, produce-forward flavours of the Californian coastline, turning out colourful dishes and refreshing cocktails that feel celebratory without effort. The open-air setting and floor-to-ceiling glass make this one of the most visually commanding rooms in the city, equally well-suited to the golden-hour run-up to midnight and the moment the sky lights up. The cocktail programme echoes the kitchen’s coastal energy, making it easy to linger well past the countdown.

Leslieville / Riverdale

An East End institution since 1891, The Broadview Hotel — named one of Toronto’s best by Condé Nast — offers a rooftop view of the downtown skyline and the Don River that few rooms in the city can match. For NYE 2026, the panorama takes on a different quality altogether, with the cityscape illuminated from an elevated vantage point in Leslieville. The kitchen turns out a globally inspired menu: yellowfin tuna tataki dressed in Thai vinaigrette with sriracha aioli, bay scallop ceviche with green mango jus and toasted cashews, and whole branzino with bok choy, shiitake and dashi butter. Cocktails such as the Smokeshow (mezcal, chipotle, pineapple) and the matcha-and-yuzu Mix & Matcha reflect the same confident eclecticism found across the menu.

Excellent food and service, and great city views. We had to get to a concert and there was no problem with service, done with time to spare. Also very good about accommodating food allergies.

Harbourfront

There is only one restaurant in Toronto that puts diners quite literally inside the spectacle. Sitting 351 metres above the ground inside the CN Tower itself, 360 The Restaurant rotates a full 360 degrees every 72 minutes, ensuring every seat becomes a prime window onto the NYE 2026 fireworks. The kitchen celebrates Canadian ingredients coast to coast — equal parts steakhouse, seafood restaurant and wine bar — with a commitment to local sourcing and Ocean Wise-certified fish and shellfish. Prix fixe and à la carte menus offer flexibility, while the wine cellar in the sky focuses on Ontario’s finest winemakers. Dinner includes complimentary access to the Main and Lower Observation Levels, making this a full-evening experience that stretches well past the countdown.

Mediterranean
Harbourfront

Right at the water’s edge on Queens Quay West, Queens Harbour occupies what is said to be the largest restaurant in Canada with a retractable roof — a dramatic Harbourfront setting that delivers direct CN Tower views and open-air access to the night sky. The kitchen fuses Mediterranean soul with the traditions of Asian gastronomy, anchored in fire, balance and bold flavour: mezzes for sharing, charcoal-grilled dishes and a full raw and sushi bar. The retractable roof means the NYE fireworks are not merely visible — they are part of the room itself. A rotating programme of DJs turns the evening into something closer to a full night out, making Queens Harbour one of the most energetic options on the waterfront.

A truly outstanding dining experience. I had dinner at Harbour Queens yesterday, and everything was simply perfect from start to finish. The welcome at reception was warm and professional, and the service throughout the evening was exceptional. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and flawless in every way. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the atmosphere is inviting, and the food was absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, and every dish was prepared to perfection. This was not my first visit, and once again Harbour Queens exceeded my expectations. The quality, consistency, and attention to detail are remarkable. This restaurant has become a true benchmark for excellence, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience. Thank you Queens Harbour.

Midtown

High above Yorkville at the rooftop of W Toronto on Bloor Street East, TONO by Akira Back brings Nikkei cuisine — the vibrant marriage of Japanese precision and Peruvian passion — to one of the most talked-about rooftop settings in the city. Chef Akira Back, whose career carries a MICHELIN-starred pedigree, leads a kitchen that honours culinary tradition while unapologetically pushing boundaries with unexpected pairings and raw artistry. The open-air patio offers skyline views across downtown Toronto, with cocktails crafted with the same intention as the food — each one drawing on the dual-heritage that defines the menu. Liberty Village

On the 28th floor of Hotel X in Liberty Village, Valerie is less a restaurant in the conventional sense and more a fully realised evening — theatrical by design, with live musicians, performances and thoughtful mixology woven around a chef-curated menu. The setting plays on nostalgia: jazz, theatrical references and a mood that shifts over the course of the night, shaped in part by the artists on stage. For NYE 2026, the views across the Toronto skyline toward the CN Tower give the experience a cinematic backdrop, with the city’s midnight display visible from a high-altitude vantage that few venues in Liberty Village can offer. Pool service is available, extending the celebration well beyond the table.

Yorkville

Few rooms in Toronto command a view quite like this one. On the 51st floor of the Manulife Centre, Mar’aa Yorkville offers panoramic sightlines that stretch well past the CN Tower — a cinematic backdrop for the NYE 2026 fireworks display. The restaurant, operated by Scale Hospitality (the group behind Byblos and Lapinou), is led by Executive chef Rosalin Keshishian, who places Middle Eastern flavours into a modern framework informed by French technique. The spread sampler — four dips including hummus with chermoula and feta labneh — sets the pace before the kitchen moves through lamb manti dumplings with urfa chili crunch, a 24-hour braised wagyu short rib in baharat jus, and grilled octopus on a sweet, smoky roasted pepper purée. The name Mar’aa means “sight” in Arabic, and on New Year’s Eve, that promise is fully kept.

Inside the recently MICHELIN Key-awarded Park Hyatt Toronto, Writer’s Room is a literary-inspired cocktail bar and dining room that pays tribute to Canada’s great authors — from Margaret Atwood to Farley Mowat — through a menu of precision-made stirred cocktails and carefully plated snacks. Spirit-forward signatures such as the Negroni Chronicles (old tom gin, Punt e Mes, Tuscan bitters) and the Park Hyatt tea-infused Opening Statement sit alongside dry aged beef tartare with black truffle béarnaise and potato rosti, lobster rolls with yuzu kosho on toasted brioche, and char siu lamb ribs with five-spice and scallion dressing. Financial District

A bird’s-eye view of the Toronto skyline from the 31st floor of The St. Regis Toronto has made LOUIX LOUIS one of the Financial District’s most dramatic dining destinations — and for NYE 2026, those shimmering nighttime views become the centrepiece of the evening. The room leans into unapologetic opulence: interiors with a grandiose European sensibility, a bar built on ceremony and conviviality, and a kitchen where classic French techniques are reinterpreted with contemporary confidence. Seasonal dishes are designed to surprise and delight, built around luxurious ingredients and theatrical presentation. The Sky Garden, an open-air terrace with panoramic city views, makes LOUIX LOUIS an especially strong choice for anyone who wants to watch the midnight fireworks from a champagne flute in hand.

Harbourfront

For a NYE 2026 celebration that swaps high-altitude glamour for waterfront immediacy, Amsterdam Brewhouse delivers a 270-degree view of Lake Ontario from its pier location directly on Toronto’s Harbourfront. The CN Tower is visible in the near distance, the harbour spreads out before the terrace, and the patio puts guests right on the water for the midnight display. The kitchen is straightforward and honest: 3 Speed beer-battered haddock, 12-hour cherry-wood smoked brisket with apple butter BBQ sauce, wood-fired pizzas, and a rotating selection of in-house brewed ales and IPAs — many of which incorporate spent grains and young beer reductions directly into the cooking. Amsterdam Brewhouse is where counting down to midnight feels communal, unpretentious and entirely at home on the water.
