Contemporary American
Plaza / Brookside

Gram & Dun sits at the heart of Kansas City’s premier shopping and dining district, bringing a contemporary American menu and what locals have voted one of the city’s most beautiful patios. The Plaza location makes it a natural gathering point for fans exploring KC’s best neighborhoods during the 2026 summer of soccer — a polished, inviting space that handles everything from a leisurely pre-match lunch to a celebratory post-game dinner. The kitchen delivers thoughtfully crafted American dishes with genuine seasonal ambition: expect creative small plates, well-executed mains, and a cocktail program that reflects the care put into the food. Set in Kansas City’s premier dining district around 15 minutes from the stadium, Cooper’s Hawk is a winery and restaurant loved by locals and visitors alike. The combination of a full-service restaurant, a lively bar with TVs, and an in-house wine program makes it suited to group-friendly dinners, VIP hosting, and soccer fans looking for a more elevated watch-party experience during the global tournament. The American menu is broad and well-executed, designed to pair with the winery’s own-label wines — a point of difference that gives the drinks program real character beyond the standard sports bar offer. The bar seating and screen setup ensure non-ticket holders can follow every moment of the 2026 soccer tournament. A strong all-rounder for groups of any size.

Steakhouse
Crossroads / Freight District / Boulevard

Few restaurants in Kansas City can claim a setting as dramatic as Pierpont’s — a classic American steakhouse housed inside the grand Union Station, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. For the 2026 summer of soccer, that location becomes especially significant: Union Station sits just a ten-minute walk from the fan festival hub, placing Pierpont’s at the center of the tournament’s downtown footprint. The kitchen delivers on the steakhouse format with confidence — prime cuts, classic sides, and the kind of unhurried, white-tablecloth service that suits a special occasion. The magnificent Beaux-Arts interior, with its soaring ceilings and period details, gives every dinner a sense of occasion that goes beyond the food alone. For visiting fans who want to experience the world’s biggest sporting event through one of KC’s most storied addresses, look no further than Pierpont’s.

We had an absolutely lovely date night. The food was amazing. The ale that is available solely at Pierpont’s was a highlight. And the service was some of the best we have experienced! I wish that I could remember our severs’ name so I could personally praise her. She was delightful and we would return just so we could sit in her section.

Barbecue
Plaza / Brookside

No guide to dining in Kansas City would be complete without the city’s most celebrated barbecue — and Jack Stack at the Plaza is a must-visit for international visitors arriving for the 2026 summer of soccer. A Kansas City institution with decades of smoke and slow-cook tradition behind it, Jack Stack brings the full spectrum of KC barbecue to the table: burnt ends, hickory-smoked ribs, slow-cooked brisket, and cheesy corn bake that has become a menu legend in its own right. The Plaza location puts it squarely in the city’s premier dining district, making it an accessible and essential stop for fans spending time in the neighborhood during the global tournament. For anyone experiencing international soccer in Kansas City, a meal at Jack Stack is as much a part of the occasion as the match itself.

Fern Bar offers a different kind of dining and drinking experience — one centered on craft cocktails, a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere, and a location just minutes from the fan festival that makes it a natural pit stop during the 2026 summer of soccer. The bar’s commitment to locally crafted, seasonally driven cocktails gives it a distinct identity in a city with a fast-growing drinks culture, and the intimate, plant-filled space creates an atmosphere that rewards slowing down between matches. For fans who want to decompress after a big game, Fern Bar is the answer — a local gem that reflects Kansas City’s independent spirit. It’s the kind of place that becomes a quiet favorite over the course of a tournament stay, particularly for those who appreciate a well-made drink in a room with character.

The Westside Local has earned its place as one of Kansas City’s most in-demand neighborhood restaurants — a lively local spot with a loyal following, a short drive from the fan festival, and the kind of quality-driven approach to American cooking that keeps regulars coming back. The menu changes with the seasons and reflects a commitment to local sourcing that gives the food genuine character: expect market-driven dishes, well-crafted cocktails, and a warm, neighborhood atmosphere that feels a world away from the more tourist-facing options near the stadium. For fans who want to eat where Kansas City locals eat during the 2026 summer of soccer — The Westside Local is the kind of find that makes a trip memorable for the right reasons.

Always nice to eat outside and their burgers and fries are amazing. Surprised by a $4 charge for 2 salt rims on 2 cocktails. Overall, service was kind and efficient and the atmosphere is great.

Fogo de Chão’s deep cultural connection to the sport makes it an instinctive destination during any major sport tournament — and the Kansas City location, sitting eight to fifteen minutes from the stadium in the Plaza district, is well positioned to capture fans. The rodizio format — fire-roasted meats carved tableside in an unbroken, celebratory parade — is one of the most naturally convivial dining experiences in the world, perfectly suited to collective energy. Picanha, lamb chops, and garlic-seasoned chicken anchor the meat selection, while an expansive market table of seasonal accompaniments keeps the spread generous. Dedicated dining experiences are planned for the tournament period, and the brand’s strong international diners base ensures the room will carry the spirit of the occasion from the first course to the last.
