Quiet place with a good atmosphere. The wait was a bit long but understandable considering it was Valentines day. Food is fantastic. Best pasta dishes I have had in a long time. Recommend getting the duck gnocchi

If you want an excellent meal leaning to the Italian, with a good range of options and fine wine, maybe with friends, maybe before or after a movie at Palace Centro, this is the place for you. It holds its own in the culinary strip in James Street. (The arancini balls were the best I've ever had.) Service is friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. There is a nice spectrum of ambience between inside and street-side. Give it a go!

Food was amazing - was worried about going here at first as the layout of the restaurant wasn't as good as I hoped (decorations etc) but never judge a book by its cover - food was astounding

Service was excellent and the food was fantastic and authentic. I have an allergy to certain herbs and the chef was able to accomodate my needs and recommend a different dish. We selected a variety of entrees and mains so that we could try a variety. They were all delicious.

Fenek is a great restaurant, I eat here regularly with my friends and family. The duck omelette for brunch was delicious and the coffee was excellent. Highly recommended for dinner as well.

Excellent place being of Maltese Background myself.

Definitely add the Maltese tradition by adding more main Rabbit dishes. Otherwise, was a real good dining experience!

Fenek was recommended by a friend who is Maltese decent as are we, but very disappointed with the lack of Maltese dishes, the Fenek Fettucine my husband had was disappointing as there was hardly any rabbit and what was there was quite tasteless. Another guest had Lasagne without nothing else and he was very disappointed with the taste also..feels the one he cooks at home was much more tasty than his meal. My daughter had the duck gnocchi which did not excite her tastebuds either. My Prawn Linguini was a plate of pasta and 6 prawns and not as tasty as the menu stated. The Entre of bread and olives was enjoyable, so we felt the rest of the meals would be similar but we were disappointed.

We had a lovely time at Fenek. The food was amazing, the staff was lovely and they sat us right next to the heater which was great as it was a very cold night. I will be coming back again and again!!

We decided to try Fenek for the Friday Maltese menu and we weren't disappointed. The meals were hearty and full of flavour and some of them were exactly like Nunna used to make! If you go, I highly recommend the octopus - it was like butter; soft, full of flavour and melted in your mouth!

The service team were attentive, friendly and helpful and almost too attentive sometimes with more than one coming to check how we were enjoying our meal. I'm not really complaining - service was fast and friendly and the food was served in a really timely way.

Afterwards, the chef and owner came out for a chat and we compared our Maltese heritage and memories of our childhood. We were also gifted with some treacle circle treats! I managed a bite (I was so full) and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the rest.

If you're from Brisbane or just visiting, Fenek is definitely worth a visit. It's large enough to have great atmosphere and intimate enough so you can have easy conversation at your table without needing to yell. A lovely place, with great food, great service and great atmosphere!

We'll definitely be back. :)

Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Fenek for my mother's 73rd birthday. Owner Wayne made it all more special by presenting mother's panecotta dessert with a birthday message. It definitely deserved to be photographed. Duck gnocchi lived up to my expectation, first-time rabbit eater loved it in fettuccine, and fussy eater had nothing but good things to say about baby chicken. Mother wants to return to try the octopus. Great, authentic flavours. Definitely nothing artificial here. Returning soon to try other dishes....
