Best Steakhouses in Garrett

Four of us went to Shorty's for the 1st time on 11/5/26. Sat in the beautiful bar room. Excellent service by Kelly! She was friendly and knowledgeable about menu items. The manager, Monica, also stopped by twice to make sure we were happy & if we had any questions or comments. Drinks (draft beers & whiskey sours) were refreshing. Food, prepared by Chef Jeff was excellent! My filet mignon, ordered medium, was prepared melt-in-your-mouth perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning to not be overpowering. Other highly rated items at our table were the potatoes romanoff, sauteed vegetables and hangar steak special. We were too full to order dessert but we did see the carrot cake at another table and it looked fresh and delicious! Yes, it can be pricey, but it was quality food and service in a comfortable and attractive bar. It was not higher priced than other places that don't rate as high, in my opinion. We WILL return.

We went to a winemaker dinner. Each course was paired with a wine from Duckhorn Cellars in California. It was fantastic! Each wine was great on its own, but each also paired well with the food served with it. The second course was a Maple Leaf Farms duck breast. Interestingly, the owners of Maple Leaf Farms were there eating with us! They were friendly and gracious. You meet the best people while dining at Eddie Merlot!!

Great experience. Food excellent.Dane did an excellent job. Nice venue to celebrate a birthday.
