Denver, we found your next foodie obsession… and it’s HIDING behind a pink paper crane 🩷🤫 Tucked underneath Sushi Hai is @origamiden , a secret Japanese speakeasy that deserves WAY more hype 🏮✨! First of all, THE VIBES 😭?! Over 1,000 paper cranes hanging from the ceiling, moody lighting, and gorgeous decor that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a whole different world! BUT LET’S TALK ABOUT THE FOOD 🍣🤤. Everything we tried was SO fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented! The sushi was absolutely delicious, with that fresh, melt-in-your-mouth quality that makes you want to keep ordering more. From the rich, buttery uni butter popcorn 🍿 to the incredible Origami Trio, every bite was a little chef’s kiss 🤌🏼. The Dragon’s Breath Roll 🐉 and Golden Hour Roll 🌅 were packed with flavor, and the Filet Mignon Nigiri was such a delicious twist 🥩🍣! Of course, we had to get the Origami Sushi Combo, too, because you can never have too much sushi 😂 AND THE DRINKS?! Just as fun as the food 🍸⚡🍐! We tried the Tokyo Drift, Forbidden Fruit, and Origami Sake Bombs. The cocktails were creative, and doing sake bombs with the staff was such a fun little moment that made the experience even more memorable 🍺🥳! Delicious, fresh food, creative cocktails, an incredible atmosphere, and an experience that goes way beyond just dinner. Moody, curated and completely unexpected! This is how I would describe my experience at Origami, a sushi and cocktail speakeasy. Located below Sushi Hai (enter thru the door on the right and go down the stairs), Origami is a special treat. We enjoyed absolutely everything, including the cocktails and mocktails! Highly recommend for date night or girls night. Open Saturdays 5-10pm by Reservation only thru DM @origamiden ✨ Shima - Suntory Whiskey, Muddled Ginger, Lemon Juice and Blood Orange Garnish. ✨ Chuya - Butterfly Pea Flower Tea, Honey Syrup, Yuzu garnished with Rose Petals. ✨ Hai Tataki - Grilled green onions and carrots wrapped in seared NY strip, topped with chef’s special sauce garnished with fried onions and crispy wonton crumbles Rolls. ✨ Dragon’s Breath - Spicy yellowtail, shrimp tempura and fried onion inside, topped with seared tuna in a chef’s special sauce. (Made my Best Eats of Feb list!) ✨ Origami Trio - Minced toro paired with ikura on a bed of a perfectly seasoned sushi rice topped with Hokkaido Uni, garnished with gold flakes and a side of nori. Such a unique and incredible dish!! This is a must try also. ✨ Lamb Chops - 4 chops, mint sake butter, goat cheese stuffed zucchini tempura rolls, roasted cherry tomatoes, and drizzled with a balsamic reduction. Perfectly cooked. Would order again. ✨ Kinoko Scallops - Japanese mushroom stuffed with jumbo fresh scallops in a chef’s special sweet butter sauce and topped with bok choy and side of rice. I just love scallops! ✨ Midnight Pearl & Silk - Vanilla flavored ice cream drizzled in olive oil, topped with flaky sea salt and caviar. Love the twist on this! Sooo next level.
