Alpine, home to Sul Ross State University is near Texas tourist destination Big Bend National Park and the towns of Marathon, Fort Davis and Lajitas. Alpine is also a short drive from Marfa, Texas renowned both for the mysterious Marfa Lights and Donald Judd's Chinati Foundation. Reata, named after the legendary ranch in the James Dean classic movie, "Giant", which was filmed in nearby Marfa, boasts the same high quality Southwestern dining you can find in Fort Worth. The food we got was very delicious! The portions are huge so you can share with someone if you feel like it. It's all very worth the price with how good everything was otherwise! Our server, Mariah, took very good care of us that night.

Filet mignon was delicious and cooked perfectly. All sides for this were excellent (wedge salad and loaded baked potato) Service great (Thank you Liz) Chose this restaurant due to many local referrals and we weren't disappointed. Thank you.

Merrick always takes good care of his guests and this was no exception for brunch with out of town friends. It has become our brunch go-to, just be sure and order the breakfast pot pie early or they will be gone!

Jeremiah took great care of us. Highly recommend the mushroom custard and kanpachi crudo. We didn't get to try the carrot starter as they were out. The strip and duck were cooked perfectly, and the redfish was the best dish of the 3.

The food at Claraboya is always fantastic! Our waitress was so kind and attentive. The price for the entrees is comparable to other high end restaurants, but the appetizers were very pricey. I love the atmosphere…makes you feel like you are out of town on vacation while still being in your hometown. I highly recommend Claraboya!
