“Burrata” believe that when @itsrebeccainthecity asked me to join her at @riverroastchi for a #ChicagoRestaurantWeek preview dinner I said yaaaassss. No one is ever “sour” when they can pile winter citrus, hazelnuts and burrata upon toasted sourdough, especially when sipping on bubbles. My veggie loving friend had honey nut squash with lentils and apples while I stopped “short” when that short rib was slid in front of me. I was surrounded by whipped potato, horseradish, salsa verde and crispy onions. I was so not “blue” that I paired a Cowboy Blues with this: Benchmark Bourbon, crème de mure and thyme. Then “fork yeah” we shared dessert: a salted caramel cheesecake with pecans and a chocolate cream pie. The interiors add a lot of character to the space and the seats by the window overlooking the tall city buildings and Chicago River makes it such an elevated experience!
