Wellness Counter has the best Japanese wild fishes which are unreal in Boulder. It’s not packed yet, but it will be soon. Go now before you can't get a seat!

Maybe we ordered wrong, but the food was underwhelming. Brussels sprouts were not cooked. Tuna handroll and wellness roll did not taste very good. The restaurant was pretty much empty on a Saturday night. Our waiter was nice but he had a cold.

Best sushi in Boulder, hands down. It's a bit of a splurge, but you're paying for real snow crab and pristine dry-aged fish, not the cheap filler you get elsewhere.

The absolute best sushi in Boulder. Wellness Counter delivers pristine, elevated Japanese dining right on Pearl Street. The dry-aged fish melts in your mouth, the atmosphere is perfectly intimate, and the service is flawless. An absolute must-visit for top-tier quality!

This restaurant bit off more than they could chew with taking too many reservations and not having enough staff or food. The staff tried, but they were out of almost everything and it took a long time just to get water and try to order. We had to prove our Open Table reservation 2 times—as in show the reservation within the app—once before we sat down and then again after. We definitely did not feel welcome. The food was not great—felt like we got old sushi. We left hungry and worried we were going to be sick (luckily no one got sick).

The host staff needs some training. Upon arrival, we were told by one host that no tables were available despite making a reservation three weeks prior. A few minutes of scurrying passed, and we were seated. Near the end of our meal, a different host stopped at our table to ask: “Are you done yet?” We’d been there for only 90 minutes and patiently tolerated a slow kitchen on a busy night. That wasn’t a good look for the restaurant. Between all of that, the food and our server were good. I know this place is new; hopefully, they’ll work out the host issues and be better.

I went there with a friend for happy hour and the food was disappointing. The blue crab and roll was very fishy, the edamame was over salted, and the sake was served in a big wine glass. The server was a young CU student who didn’t know much about the sushi or the sake. I wouldn’t return here, I can get better value for sushi at Japango or Hapa if i want the Pearl St sushi experience.

Had high hopes for this restaurant, but there are still some kinks to work out. We found bones in the sushi, waited over 30 minutes for our appetizers to arrive, and the soda was flat and watered down. For the price, both the quality and service were disappointing. Overall, VERY expensive for a mediocre experience.
