Fancy staircase ✔️excellent cocktails ✔️ amazing food ✔️ . @theconsulatemidtown was such a vibe. I got seated near the staircase, which gives me a perfect view of the downstairs bar, yet still has the more intimate and quiet ambiance of the upstairs dining room. I loved the dim lighting, classy vibes, and the unique twist on French cuisine. . Must order the bone marrow, it was savory with some tangy sweetness from the glaze, the LAMB tartare (loved the gamey flavor), and the sea bass.

Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing, especially considering how expensive everything was. We ordered the pancakes and the avocado salmon toast, and neither lived up to expectations. The pancakes were dry and overly sweet, while the avocado toast was poorly balanced, with far too much red onion. The avocado wasn't great, and the salmon was particularly disappointing — it had a mushy texture and didn't taste or look fresh. To make matters worse, the prices were very high, which made the quality of the food even more disappointing. On a positive note, our waitress and the rest of the staff were absolutely lovely, and the atmosphere was great. It's a shame the food didn't match the service or ambiance. Overall, not worth the price, and we wouldn't rush back.

We visited on Halloween night, October 31, for a 7:15 p.m. reservation for 3. Unfortunately, the service was very poor. We waited a long time just to place our order, even after asking our waiter, and additional requests separate from the main order — such as extra bread and an additional bottle of water — were completely ignored. The evening felt chaotic and disorganized, which was disappointing for a family dinner out.

All very good except music is just too loud … and seating was a bit awkward, table for 5 with one guest facing the wall literally

Loved the tag team service, we were greeted by a lovely hostess and immediately seated when we arrived for our reservation. Beautiful restaurant. The service was incredible, the team never let us sit too long with continuous and intentional attention. Now the food, I ordered branzino so delicious and prepared beautifully. Excellent, flavorful Brussels sprouts and hubby’s steak was okay for me (he enjoyed) was a miss for me because it lacked some seasoning and sear. Lastly, my mocktail was tasty and the sticky toffee cake could only be better by being warm. Fab dinner and exclamation point to our long weekend in the city.

The ambiance, food and service were all top notch. We all enjoyed our dishes: tuna tartare, crab cakes, oysters, filet mignon, steak and frites and branzino. They brought a dessert with candle for my husband’s birthday. It was very nice, but noisy inside. We chose to sit outside for that reason

Very cute UWS restaurant— amazing food and very attentive service. I had the tuna sandwich for lunch which had a great amount of tuna and their bread was so good!
