About this restaurant

  • Innovative
  • Romantic
  • Neighbourhood gem
Once a former garage, the space that now houses The Bedford in Brooklyn was reinvented to offer rustic charm and a sense of casual intimacy. A front area dining room often has full seats during the day and evening hours whereas the bar serves as a great place for beer and cocktail selections at the end of a long day. The Bedford is the place to go for families, friends and couples looking to get out and about. For brunch, try the fried chicken and waffles, yellowfin tuna burger, crisped risotto ball or the soft scrambled eggs. For dinner, check out the black bean and corn tortilla burger, fried chicken tenderloins, grilled pizzette or the hanger steak. When dining at The Bedford, make sure to ask any available blackboard specials available.

The ambiance and decor was beautiful and cozy. The bottle of Pinot Noir was delicious. I was very impressed with the homemade Burrata appetizer and Free Range Chicken entree. The service was exceptional-cannot believe it’s taken me this long to dine in this hidden gem.

I had a rather odd experience here, I had booked an available reservation for 5 people but when we showed up for our reservation the host said they were not able to accommodate our reservation because as she put it "OpenTable is not able to keep up with what we have available". As a result, they were not able to sit us in the main dinning area and brought us to the bar area where it was open seating and we had to wait for a group to leave so we could find a table for our whole group. Later to find out that the kitchen was "totally smoked out" as the waitress put it, understandably this is an unforeseen situation for both waitstaff and patron but we were told it would be at least 30 minutes until we could put an order in for food, ultimately leading us to decide to leave. Which was a bummer because I had dined there once before and it was great! Just be cautious when booking a reservation on OpenTable and schlepping over there.

The service was great. Seated right away with no wait. The food was delicious (We tried the Mac-N-Cheese Burger) and it didn't take long. The cocktails were different but worth it.
