It’s okay wine list very frustrating as lot of wines on it are not available and some dish although very nice are ridiculous in cost.
People won’t come because of that and overall I’d be surprised at the viability going forward based on the cost of things
Definitely one of the top 3 Chinese restaurants in Melbourne in a beautiful location overlooking Albert Park lake & the city skyline. Very expensive but excellent food. Only let down was the service which was not in line with the price & high standard required for is venue level .
Service was slow at the beginning but got better ... a couple of their wines weren't available. Otherwise, fantastic food and a lovely venue - we'll be back !
Nice lake view, and typical Chinese food. The service is kind and warm, satisfied with the overall experience.
Most of our dishes were well prepared and were mostly exquisite. It's definitely on the pricier scale for Chinese food. We were there mainly to try the Imperial Treasure dish (`$400) and whilst the other dishes from the menu were fab, this dish disappointed and was not worth the $$. Ingredients were OK, presentation was not good (so different from the photos!!) and it just felt like an ordinary hot pot dish.
Service and ambience is good so a nice restaurant to entertain your guests.
Went here for my dad's birthday.. did not expect great food with enough portion for six people.. also dun feel the food has lots of msg because i dun feel thirsty after eating the food..
You have a fantastic venue and the feel is great. The food arrived warm to cold and all at once and we asked the staff to serve the portions which is normal a done deal at other venues.
We will be back and hopefully you will have ironed out these teething issues.
Very nice view and nice ambiance. I think the food is overpriced: but nice. Need larger sizes to warrant the price
The experience was most enjoyable and opened our senses in terms of food appreciation and enjoyment.
The staff, both at reception and on the floor, were outstanding and hospitable. The food delectable.
great place must try...we will be back, very impressed.
Extremly bright lights throughout ground floor make for minimal ambience, seated next to the window looking out to the city you cannot see anything due to the internal glare reflecting off the windows. Food was good however overpriced for quality versus lack of ambience in restaurant.
Too expensive for Melbourne. I’ve been to fancy Michelin Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong that was a fraction of the price of Sun Kitchen.
Service was extremely good though. So can’t fault service but gobsmacked by the prices being charged. And the food wasn’t that spectacular for the price. Was a bit bland in taste.
From the moment we arrived, a fabulous experience. Wait staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Food was delicious. Best dumplings I have had in a long while. Dishes are very generous proportions and really delicious. Atmosphere was lovely- would highly recommend.
The service does not worth the price. And it hard to see anything of the lake at night due to the reflection of the glass wall.
We went as a group of 6 friends & had a great night of wining & dining. Ambience is lovely, food was excellent but pricey! Service was good too. A special occasion venue, not so much for everyday dining!
Food and service were excellent. We were sat upstairs which was very quiet and a bit sterile. We were told that it was very busy downstairs with lots of Chinese families, which we would have expected. Will definitely go back.... and sit downstairs
Great customer service, nice environment, food was good, we enjoyed our dinner time there. Thanks
It’s okay for a very serious dinner, service is very good but the dishes are little bit over priced
items not available which are on menu
such as basic hot and sour soup
wine menu the same
okay but expensive
Very good service and excellent ambience. Some dishes very good but overall very expensive and not good value for large spend.
When we got there, we were greeted by friendly staff at the door and showed us to our seats. They brought us the menu and introduced their special and signature dishes. The staff had our jacket hung up in a closet rather than us hanging at the back of our chair. They even had a little table to put the ladies hangbag.
We ordered the Sichuan food as we loved hot and spicy, it was really authentic and great flavour.
Besides that, the food display was magnificent and setting is done perfectly. I can still remember the sizzling sound, full flavour of the sizzling fish, thinking of it makes me hungry!
We had a great dining experience there, we will definitely be back again when we visit Melbourne again !
