About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Romantic
  • Great for fine wines
The restaurant was founded in 2023 by owner Stella Spanu, a Boulder local. Honoring her Italian heritage and embracing her passion for food and hospitality, Spanu’s philosophy is to have a dining experience that stimulates all senses by incorporating visual art, design, music, premier service, comfortable seating and fresh, authentic Italian cuisine. The space, an Art Deco inspiration, was conceptualized and built by architect Miguel Quismondo.

Stella's is showcasing a world-class menu, highlighting traditions from all over Italy, with house-made pastas with imported ingredients directly from Italy, and locally sourced ingredients from Colorado farms. The menu is accompanied by an extensive selection of Italian wines and specialty cocktails.

Friday and Saturday, after dinner service, the space will transform into a lounge with a dance floor with a state-of-the-art sound system, while guests are encouraged to enjoy beverages, the dance floor, and a wide variety of music.

Our server, Amanda was wonderful. Everything we had - Cocktails, appetizers, dinner and dessert were all fantastic. As a person with Celiac Disease, I appreciated the care the kitchen took to make sure all the dishes were gluten free. The house-made gluten free bread was also delicious!

The restaurant has a cool vibe inside but rating taste and quality of the food was a 5/10 and exceptionally small portions. Four people had 2 appetizers, 4 meals, 2 sides and left feeling like we had a snack and paid $400. Very slow drink service, first drinks took 20 minutes.

Good, not great. A bit disappointing after all the hype to be honest. Everything was good. But I’d argue not that memorable of an experience. We don’t regret going, but don’t plan on returning either.

Food was beautifully presented and delicious. We did not realize that the menu was a coursed out menu and smaller portions. It made the meal a little more expensive than planned.

In all fairness, I was likely expecting too much. They’re going for a speakeasy feel but the decor along with the tables and chairs don’t support that. The chairs are like outdoor furniture with squeaky feet (super loud against the floor) and once you realize this, you’re sort of stuck where you are. Any sliding is like nails on a chalkboard. Our table was wobbly, so maybe not every table is. The bar takes center stage and the bartender who appears to be the senior mixologist smiled once. Our waiter, Aldo was great, presentation of what was being delivered was helpful, as the lasagna looks like a donut. Portions are good, not generous and noise level made it hard to carry on a norma conversation and be heard. The food was delicious and the greeters and dining room manager all very friendly. $52 for the tuna and $75 for the steak seemed pricey but we’re hoping they put some of the proceeds toward new, quiet, cozier chairs.
