Scampi is one of those places I find myself day dreaming about because the food is that good. I feel like every time I go, I taste this food and think, “Damn, Liz is an awesome chef.” I went on a Wednesday with a few of my faves for their walk in only night. We, of course, got the entire menu, plus both desserts. Scampi is BYOB but instead of wine, we brought in some Coke Zero. Highlights were the Caesar Toast (ALWAYS a phenomenal bite), the Rigatoni with Parm and Chili Crisp (salty, spicy, savory… perfection), and the Tiramisu (one of the best in the city, QUOTE ME!!!) But if you go to Scampi on a Monday, the one thing you need to get is the Oklahoma Onion Burger. As a massive fan of onions and burgers, this burger was exceptional delicious and was everything I ever wanted, plus a little bit more. Scampi never disappoints me, and I truly think you will love it too when you visit. When you go to Scampi, do not skip the desserts & pray you can try the burger, & be sure to tell ‘em PFAB sent ya! 📍617 South 3rd Street Philadelphia PA 19147📍 #pfab #phillyfoodandbarrs

Fall of last year I got a last minute table at Scampi, and I had one of the best dinners of 2025. So when I saw they were doing a Filipino menu for two nights only, I knew I HAD to go. Chef Liz was kind enough to let us add on two additional friends at the last minute, and the six of us had ourselves a FEAST! Chef Liz and the Scampi team really curated a truly one of a kind, mind blowing menu that I will not stop thinking about probably forever. The highlights were the Lasagna Filipino, (ARE SO SO SERIOUS WITH THIS???) the Pork Adobo Ribs that fell right off the bone, and the Ube Latte Tiramisu. TRULY this was an amazing meal, and any time Scampi is gonna have this menu, I need to grab a seat!!! Scampi does walk ins but are mostly reservation only and the menu changes often, so definitely check out all they have to offer ASAP! When you go, say hi to Chef Liz, & be sure to tell ‘em PFAB sent ya! 📍617 South 3rd Street Philadelphia PA 19147📍 #pfab #phillyfoodandbarrs

Confession: my friend @mackies_meals has been a Liz Grothe fan longer than we’ve been friends, and her fan-girl-ness made its way to my heart. Scampi has been a spot that I’ve been talking about going to for a WHILE and when I saw on their IG story that they had limited availability at the end of August, I DM’ed immediately to get in. I was literally shaking with excitement to get in, and I knew immediately this was gonna be a killer meal. The Caesar Toast is an iconic bite & the perfect start. The Calamari a la Pizzaiola was ridiculously good - I haven’t stopped thinking about it. The Shrimp Scampi (not what this restaurant is named after!!) was to die for, and I am not ashamed to say I took a spoon to drink the rest of the sauce - judge all you want, it was phenomenal. The Eggplant Parm was outrageous and I would eat it again in a heartbeat. But my favorite was probably the Sunday Gravy with Calamarata - tender pieces of baby back ribs, spicy meatballs, and sausage all in an incredible sauce - yes, always yes! We ended with so many great dessert bites - fresh figs, Italian Rainbow Cookies from Rougarou Bakery, Cocco’s Gelato Lemon Sorbetto, and Liz’s iconic Tiramisu. I really was floored by this meal. And if anything, it made me even more of a Liz Grothe fan. The way Liz took the time to explain not just each course, but the history of the dish, the why of the region, and the passion she spoke with was undeniable. Liz talked to every table and truly took the time to make sure her guests were enjoying everything, in the way you would if the guests were in your home. In a way, Scampi is Liz’s home and a testament to all her years of experience, cooking skills and knowledge, and love & passion for food. I seriously cannot wait to get back to Scampi. When you go, definitely make sure to remember your wine (they are BYOB!) & be sure to tell ‘em PFAB sent ya! 📍617 South 3rd Street Philadelphia PA 19147📍 Can’t wait to come back @scampi_philly !!!
