About this restaurant

Kazan Restaurant is a family owned Turkish eatery serving delicious and unique dishes from the region. The interior of the building is true to the style of Turkey, with art and decor that come straight from the country. The authenticity of the restaurant is clear, and the colorful blues, greens and golds that fill the Kazan dining room are both warm and welcoming. Kazan's menu balances spicy with savory, ensuring that there is something available for all tastes and preferences. One signature dish is the Imam Bayildi, a famous eggplant appetizer that is stuffed with onions, tomatoes, green peppers and cooked in olive oil. Lamb dominates the entrée menu, with the most popular being a spicy lamb chop served with rice pilaf and yogurt sauce.

The owner, Zeynel Uzun, has been around the McLean dining scene for nearly 40 years. He does a tremendous job--service, food, and ambiance are outstanding. In a community where restaurants essentially are just not good overall, Kazan has been the beacon light for many, many years. Mr. Uzun is personable, kind, gracious, and runs a very nice restaurant. The value, the food, and the dishes are honest, ethnic, and authentic. Very good place to go.
