Jacican is all about regional Gippsland produce—if the food you harvest, cook & share at Jacican hasn’t been grown on-site, it is more than likely sourced directly from a Gippsland farmer.
In preserving cooking classes, you will learn to cook chutney, sauce, marmalade, jam, relish & cordials from produce directly harvested from the garden, then bottled & labelled just like you brought it from the store.
Jaci will explain the different preserving methods & how to use the Fowlers Vacola method to preserve produce.
In pastry cooking classes, learn to make puff pastry, lard, sweet shortcrust & ruff puff pastry.
Macarons have techniques & hints that you will only learn in a hands-on cooking class.
Making your own box of lollies cooking class is just fun!
You will pick your own fruit & vegetables, under the guidance of Jaci, as part of a five-course long lunch, Walk Amongst the Weeds.

As it was Mothers Day we thought we would try somewhere different. unfortunately they had double booked one of the tables so that created a bit of tension and in a small room it was noticeable. I am also gluten free so I thought it would have been nice to receive extra of the GF food when there was something I couldn't eat on the menu. The food was good but not enough of it and too many sweet things not enough savoury. The value for what we got wasn't there. I feel that doing a class would be better rather than an organised meal. We enjoyed it but probably wouldn't do it again.
