Restaurant was closed when we arrived despite making a reservation. No notice on door. Phone number not operational. Disappointed as I had a party of 6 with elderly parents.

Having been here several times before, we were surprised at the drop off. Service was poor, it appeared the staff were over extended with their tables. The food was bland. The wine menu was noticeably small (tbd if any tariff-related issues). Ultimately, not the best evening for what is usually a great place.

Horrible experience on Valentine’s Day. Wasn’t seated until 45 minutes after our reservation and then no service while we sat there for 20 minutes so we left!

Romantic ambiance and lovely Italian decor, plus good wine and creative appetizers—but the experience fell apart from there. It was wildly crowded, and quite loud. Upon arrival we learned they had overbooked. We were seated downstairs, served stale bread, and surprised with an unadvertised $80 prix fixe menu. After long waits, wrong dishes twice, and no service check-ins, our entrées arrived lukewarm and very small. Dessert was equally underwhelming. To top it off, a 20% gratuity was automatically added for just the two of us. We left still hungry and disappointed. Not recommended.

Took forever to even get water. Pork chop tasted like it was microwaved 3 days ago. Not worth it.

Service was really bad. Gratuity is included so I didn’t think they cared to help. Asked for cheese 3 times and never got it and never even had waters refilled. Only huge parties being sat so too noisy

My husband and I had dinner at Convivium Osteria this past Wednesday. We were looking forward to it, as it has received good reviews and the cozy ambiance appealed to us. Our experience did not begin well. Understandably a restaurant has their hours, but to have a very large group of customers with 5:00 reservations waiting outside in the cold until 5:15 and to then have those customers all squeeze in at the same time to try to be seated is a very poor system. The service was inconsistent and slow. Perhaps they were short staffed? If so, it behooved them to explain this, especially knowing that almost all the customers were there for a dinner before a show at Barclays and time was limited. I will say our waiter was friendly and it was not his fault that the restaurant has such a poor system. The food was very good, especially the polenta appetizer. The portions sizes are just enough and the prices are fair. Normally we can overlook some glitches, but the manager was quite rude and in a business where service is important, it makes it difficult to want to return. When one customer who was seated in the lower level came up to inquire about service, the manager quickly responded, “You just sat down.” This was not true as I had watched this man and his group go down while we were waiting as well. Also, when our meal was finished, the manager came to our table and without saying a word, abruptly put the bill down. We said, “Oh we were going to order coffee.” and he replied, “The machine is broken.” and walked away. The table next to us was asked if they wanted dessert. This could have been an oversight on the part of our waiter, but the manager’s rudeness left a bad taste in our mouths and we decided to leave. It is not that difficult to get good food at the many restaurants in the area, but service and simple manners and communication are essential. Suffice it to say we will not be returning!

Loved how the restaurant looked inside and the ambiance was excellent. I've definitely had better pasta at other Italian locations though, and the food took a pretty long time to come out. If you're going to a concert at Barclay's Center and want somewhere to eat with this kind of cuisine, go for it - but not my first choice moving forward.
