Bolo opened two years ago but I never checked it out before.. until now. This Latin American restaurant and rum bar has fun decor, amazing drinks and food, and an incredible staff running the show. We started out with a Ceviche Sampler - a true staple for this place. I loved the Shrimp Ceviche but Joey was obsessed with the Tuna and the Salmon. Our next course was the Panza Pinchos, two delicious skewers of the most tender pork belly I’ve ever had. We also tried the Lamb Pastelillos, which were bursting with flavor. For our main course, we split the Short Rib Carne Guisada that was accompanied by plantains, black beans, and white rice. This dish was comforting and I loved the sauce it came with. The Flan Con Queso for dessert was the perfect ending, not too sweet and an addicting bite. Oh - did I mention the drinks!? From the Rum Fashioned to the classic Piña Colada to the Sangria, Bolo has so many fantastic beverage options (and you can get that Piña Coloda virgin too!) With the natural light flowing in from the skylights and windows to the window/bar seating at the front of the restaurant, this is definitely a place you wanna be this summer in Philly. When you check out Bolo, definitely grab some ceviche, & be sure to tell ‘em PFAB sent ya! 📍2025 Sansom Street Philadelphia PA 19103📍 Thanks so much @punchmediapr @bolo_phl @el_hijodealeyda for having me!!!

The restaurant is spacious and had a light and airy feel. Th e food was scrumptious. Everything we had was different and very tasty. (Suckling pig, seafood stew). Our server was friendly and had fun energy. Everyone came by our table from the bar manager to the owner /chef. Really delightful evening. We'll be back.

Great food. We love this spot. Love the ceviche trio with plantain and yucca chips, the chicken chicharrones and imperial chicken.

Amazing service: attentive without being intrusive. They brought food and drinks out at a quicker pace to accommodate our shorter timeframe. Traditional cuisine with a few twists: the menu is the perfect mix of classic cuisine cooked extraordinarily well. My friend and I shared dishes, tasting a wide variety of menu items. The ceviche tasting sang in my mouth. The smoked mussels dish was exquisite and showed off a lot of flavors and techniques. The pinchos were expertly grilled, and the staff made sure to keep the sauce separate due to an allergy. Other standouts: the decor and vibe on both floors just add to an unforgettable experience. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu!

Fantastic experience overall. Started with them being flexible on our reservation and accommodating a different time for us. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Highly recommend. Will come back soon.

We waited 90mins to get our meals, then everything arrived together, including other appetizers and salad. Several of the meats mains were very dry as if they had been left under heat lamps while others lacked flavor and the rice had a plastic taste to it. I was willing to let it be an unfortunate experience given it did seem very busy but my father in law and husband got sick that night. I spoke to the manager who admitted they’ve been having similar problems such as mine all week and although he did offer a gift card, I wasn’t willing to go back to a place that made people sick. I was told the owner and chef were going to call me back about this and find a resolution but I never heard from them. Will not be going back nor recommend this place to anyone.

Absolutely incredible. I went there with my dad and we would’ve ordered more food if we had time. Everything we ordered was amazing, highly recommend the pork skewers, empanadas and ceviche

Having just had Dominican food in NYC from an authentic neighborhood place, I can attest this is an excellent elevated version of latin food that was perfect. And the service and ambience was top notch.
