Saturday - Sunday: 10:30am - 2:00am
We opted to sit inside when most preferred outside, therefore not many inside and they sat us right by the door rather than in the middle which was empty and would have allowed us far more room and less traffic!
Food was ok for the price!
I selected this place under the impression that it was a reasonably priced restaurant (less than 30$ a plate) and their online menu seemed inclusive to all types of eaters.
When I arrived, I should have known it would not be the experience I had hoped within the first 20 minutes. To begin, they did not have a specific cocktail I usually order, which is fine- no points deducted on that- but it was the mannerism of the staff when I asked for an alternative. They said the general types of alcohol (i.e. rum) but did not clarify what brand and flavor the choices where. After I received my drink, my family (mind you a party of 6) waited about 20 minutes to get the drink orders. Two sprites, two beers, a cocktail, and a water glass. I can understand being short staffed will increase the wait time. However, I find it hard to see how a cocktail would be served quicker than soda and the idea behind open table/reservations is to expect how many patrons one can anticipate.
From there it was a mediocre downfall. A limited menu did not provide a lot of options for my family. Maybe this is a personal problem, but I will note the menu online has 3x the options as the dinner menu had. My father's order was wrong - 2 out of 3 toppings appeared on the pizza, my mother's drink order was wrong - said no ice multiple times due to a tooth sensitivity and had plenty of ice in her drink, we over ordered food under the impression the pizza was 'personal' size when they are large enough to be shared by two people.
I felt bad that for a family that hardly goes out for dining had this experience. We went to celebrate my parents 30th anniversary and thought we should venture to a different restaurant than revisit one of five restaurants for the 100th time- to try something new. In all, maybe this place is good for dates, or a small group of 4 people. As for families who have lived in Arlington longer than most of these restaurants have been - stick to what you know.
Although we do enjoy this place, they have changed the menu from the last time we visited. As a result, we didn't find too many choices that appealed to us. However, the food, service and everything else was good.
Food was excellent which made up for the bad waiter and dirty drink ware
Great food and service. An outstanding selection of spirits, particularly whiskey and Bourbon.
- Amazing service
- Great for group meals
- Clean, large, convenient facility
- Reasonable prices
- Mediocre food (not terrible by any means but isn't particularly spectacular)
Excellent food and a great atmosphere for conducting business while not being too stuffy
We have been been meaning to try Barley Mac for over a year and wow....I wish we would have gone sooner! First, all the cocktails we had were top-notch especially the margarita. We ordered the corn and Brussels Sprouts which were delicious. I had the salmon which was perfectly cooked and complimented well by the rest of the dish. Others in our party had steaks which were cooked perfectly and the lasagna which makes you feel cozy inside. We’ll definitely be back because I saw 7-8 other things I wanted to try but didn’t have the room for!
Made a reservation at 6 to enjoy their happy hour with friends in town. Turns out you can't enjoy the happy hour if you make a reservation. I didn't see this this policy on their website. Really disappointed about that policy and I don't think we'll be returning.
The food was just okay, except for my friend’s burger which was overdone and the bun was too big for the size of the burger. Slightly disappointed overall.
The service was a little difficult and very slow. All three of the drinks we ordered tasted odd and weren’t exceptionally good.
Service was disjointed. My husband and I sat at our table for over 5 mins without anyone stopping by our table to offer water, a drink, etc. My husband had to go to the hostess and tell her that if someone didn’t come over in the next minute, we were leaving. Mind you they weren’t crowded at all so it wasn’t like our server was tied up with another table. A server finally came over and was nothing but great. No idea whose fault it was, but not a great first impression.
food and service was decent but the music volume was overpowering. we asked for it to be turned down twice and it seemed that the volume increased before we left
Food was pretty good and the mimosas were excellent (try the gin-based ones). I expected more food for the price, but the value was ok.
I found this place near the hotel I was staying. The Blue Crabcake Eggs Benedict were amazing and cooked very well. Weekly Sunday brunch is a must for my significant other and myself and we wanted to continue the tradition while out of town. The servers were all attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place and visit again when I am back in the area.
Food prices are a little high, but that's Arlington for ya. Service was pretty good. Staff was hospitable. Brussels sprouts weren't anything to write home again but all the food was above average. There was a good bar scene for happy hour. The restaurant has a ton of outdoor seating and good ambiance.
Good experience, very large portions!
Food was good. Waiter took our order without writing it down and our entrees were completely wrong. Wrong pizza and wrong salad. When we gave feedback, manager came over and apologized and made it right. They took 50% off bill and free dessert.
I felt positive that the restaurant wanted to do a great job and I was impressed they righted the wrong.
I would give them another try.
Met family for Saturday brunch at Barley Mac, and as usual it did not disappoint. The whiskey menu is extensive and very much impressed, brunch selections were delicious and reasonably priced, and the gelato was a perfect end on a warm day. Anna took very good care of our table!
The food and service were both awesome. Definitely recommend this place.
We were the server’s first customers for brunch and she did not look like she wanted to be there at all.
$13 ham egg and cheese bagel hahahahaha
Food is delicious. You must try the coccoli! Cocktails are pretty good too. We sat outside which was nice, but many waiters passed our table before the food runner finally asked us if we had our drink order taken which we had not. Our server didn’t seem to care about our table and it took a long time to place our order and then to get, and pay, the check at the end of the meal.
First time trying this place after hearing great reviews, the food was better than expected! I had the scallops and it was a large portion and the scallops were perfectly cooked! The patio was perfect for our friends' get together!
Great place for brunch. We were a party of 8 and everyone raved about his/her meal. We will definitely be back.
Met a friend for brunch and had a great experience. Our waiter was excellent and the food was delicious.
The restaurant was too loud. You could not hear the guests you were eating with. The menu had more appetizers than entrees and everything was top dollar.
Windy, and the lamb in one of my tacos-which were otherwise delectable—seemed undercooked or fatty, I couldn’t tell which.
Great service and delicious food. It was a little loud for a Tuesday but still really nice decor
Really excellent food but service was a bit spotty - 3 different people served us and we didn't get plates/silverware for appetizer till after it was served and had to request drink refills.
Great business lunch, with very good food
Overall this place was fine. It didn’t wow or amaze me. It has typical American food pizza and burgers and some meatballs. If your looking for the hipster vibe and decent food; this place will do. I don’t feel it warrants a second visit.
Our waiter claimed the kitchen was backed up, despite the fact that there were several open tables at 7:00 pm on Mother's Day. So it took quite some time to get served. When the food arrived, a couple of dishes were good and one was ok. The third, a trout dish, smelled and tasted bad. We told the waiter, who took the dish and said we could order whatever we wanted in it's place. We ordered a personal pizza, which was quite good and only took about 10 minutes. Nothing else was said about the fish, although it did not appear on our check.
Kitchen was backed up so the food took over an hour between ordering and being brought out. Ran out of water and other drinks.
Only complaint: Several of the dishes were barely warm.
Came for a Sunday Brunch. The food was cold. And the drinks were horrible. We got bloody Mary’s. Honestly tatsted like they had used simple syrup. Waiter was okay. Food presentation and flavor was poor , at best. I have no gripes with them before this brunch. Had attended a few happy hours and was pleased . Stick to the bar (sans Bloody Mary’s ) and take a pass on the food ...
Great experience. Only feedback: We had a 2:45 reservation - it was unclear when we booked if it would be brunch (menu says til 3) or dinner. We were good with either, but had assumed brunch since the time was before 3, and it ended up being dinner.
Great 1st time experience! We chose to eat at the bar for the ambiance and energy, as it was open to the outside. Our server Milos was excellent. He was friendly and gave good recommendations for food and drink. He was present but not on top of us all the while juggling a lot of tables spread out. We filled up on tasty apps and hope to try some entrees next time. Thank you!
Had a going away lunch for a coworker. First time there. Really enjoyed everything. Great ambiance. Truffle Mac was very good and they did a very good job with the scallops. Found it interesting that the calamari came with fried zucchini as half of the plate.
Fun place to meet friends, but it gets a bit loud on a Saturday night! The Pan-seared chicken was delicious, especially the sauce. Red Bliss potatoes were fine, and the few winter veggies were good, wish there'd been more of them especially. Seemed like a good wine list -- I had the owner's brand pinot noir, which had more complexity than I was expecting with a simple pinot noir. Everyone seemed to like their food.
