Fabulous customer service. The menu is amazing and very fresh. I have been here several times and keep bringing new friends along. I highly recommend Bankvale run and a view to die for. Will be back, my new local hang out .
excellent service, bit noisy, food was delicious but overpriced.
Wait staff friendly and attentive.
Served water immediately and it was very nice water - filtered and chilled.
Very pleasant ambience.
Steaks: not bad but not great.
Hot ‘potato salad’ was just a couple of undercooked potatoes
Pizza: good taste but undercooked
Porchetta: ok but crispy skin was soggy (I was told)
Linguini: very nice sauce but the serve was way too small and, for the price, the quality wasn’t there. The seafood mix was utterly flavourless - like frozen seafood mix from the supermarket. Fortunately the sauce was tasty!
I asked for a green salad - just leafy greens with dressing - but got a few greens and the rest was mostly tomatoes with lots of vinaigrette which I actually liked ... and fortunate because it prompted me to order bread which I needed because I was still hungry after that very small serve of pasta
The herbed bread was very nice.
2 people had dessert which they liked - particularly the meringues.
Lemongrass tea: big ✔️
flavourful/good strength/nice teapot/good size
House wine: nice (sparkling and Pino Grigio)
Very good wait-staff: Efficient/friendly/unobtrusive
Note: Cellar door person was unaware that diners could taste for free (according to website)
Amazing location, food & service was fantastic. Could probably do with more items on the menu, however, the meals are pretty special. Tried the house wine, was very happy it. Very happy with Marnong and will definitely be back!
The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. The place was packed so it was quite noisy but was still beautiful.
We had a lovely evening ,friendly staff ,good food and a gorgeous view!
Amazing food. The view and sunset was fantastic. Great place to dine.
Wonderful ambience and delicious food with beautiful views.
One of my favourite restaurants ...just keep taking quite a few friends!
Our group arrived on time and we were ushered to our table- seated by the windows to show-off the fabulous views- then it went downhill from there- it appears we were then forgotten about- Only when one of our group went to find some water, the wait staff realised that we had been waiting for some time. ( Wait staff were much more attentive afterwards)
Food- Basic & overpriced, for Dessert we all opted for a selection from the display cabinet,- A slice of flourless orange cake- cake was tasty- but this was the loneliest piece of cake we had ever seen- A slice of cake on a plate & nothing else-
Wine List- mark-ups on these were obscene
Such a pity as the location with its panoramic scenery was stunning.
Our experience mid week at Bankvale Run was enjoyable. We were running late due to traffic & they were accommodating towards us.
We enjoyed steak & pork mains with a couple of sides.
there is plenty of option on the menu & the serving sizes were generous.
The views are spectacular.
I would definitely go out again for a meal.
Great experience...wider menu to chose from would be better
Beautiful day for Father’s Day! Great service
Fantastic, went for Father’s Day breakfast, couldn’t fault it, we will be back again for sure
As a regular guest a very disappointing evening the food was not seasoned the service was well below par with mains being served with a table full of plates from starters and only removed once asked. $120 Wagu steaks being served without sides. Expensive bottle of wine served without being asked to taste. More service orientated trained staff need to be on the floor not young kids with no attention to detail. To top off a a very average night car was broken into in the car park and car park has no cameras so guest make sure you are carful.
Amazing food and environment. Will definitely be back..
We were looking forward to our dining experience but we were let down by the service and food quality. We sent food back as it was cold and other food was tasteless. It seem extremely disorganised. The aesthetics are lovely with great views.
Deeeeeeelish, our favourite place for a special occasion
Ridiculous to have to pay full price for a 3yr old at a Buffet Breakfast. Marnong has great views but that's about it. The food is inconsistent and the service is always below average. Poor management.
Great place the view alone is worth it had a fantastic buffet breakfast then went out to say hello to the alpacas with the kids
We have received poor table service every time that we have visited. Typical wait for drinks is 20 minutes.
The food was great. Linguine marinara plentyful and plenty of flavour.
Sticky date pudding yummmmmy.
Good friendly service.
But the view just amazing.
Well worth a visit.
Service was very slow
Waited 10-15mins to be served
Then waited over 90mins for my steak
The views are the best part of this restaurant but they had a very large booking next to tables of 2 & 4 people so the noise level & small children running around screaming was unbearable. Not sure why they didn’t put them in the private room they have there. The menu is like a pub menu, steak, pizza & pasta. Menu was very basic & not up to most wineries standards. Service was good & our waitress was very nice.
Great food, steak was cooked perfectly! Beautiful place and unexpected!
Was a bit disappointed, as took my boyfriend there for the first time for dinner on Saturday night, and we ordered starters and a main and both times our meals went to the wrong table, being the table next to us, my boyfriend was not impressed and dont know if he would go back
Saturday night 18/8/19 - Bit disappointed as a door was left open for quite some time even though we’d requested it to be closed. We weren’t the only ones who froze that night.
The food was good and the ambiance. However, poor service towards the end. Order teas and coffees with desserts and requested 3 times and never received them. We shouldn't be requesting our order multiple times and was said a few minutes away, very disappointing.
A place that it makes you feel that you are away however you are so close to home. The view takes/reminds me the Tuscan region in Italy. The service is great staff friendliness makes you wanting to come back. I meet my friends one a month there.
Wow, wow, just wow! The moment we entered the gates and started driving up the beautiful winding driveway I knew we were in for a treat. I wasn't disappointed when we parked and saw all the beautiful old buildings surrounding the stylish new building that housed the restaurant. What a gorgeous setting! As we walked through the door and were greeted by the friendly staff, I couldn't stop smiling as I looked around. It looked fantastic. The Porchetta was my choice, while my wife chose a pasta. Both arrived very quickly, and tasted absolutely fantastic. My only two regrets of the whole experience? I didn't order a rib eye or Wagyu. I saw them in the display after I had ordered the porchetta! And secondly, that we went at night and couldn't enjoy the sensational views over the valley I have seen in photos. Cant wait to go back!
Had a lovely evening and would thoroughly recommend this place. Exceptional service by John our waiter, outstanding food and surrounds. My only qualm was the small children being aloud to run around and yell.
Great setting...table water not provided until after we asked a few times....main meals were great, large servings... Bankvale wine was great, desserts were slow in arriving & little italian donuts were tough...coffee was burnt & we had to ask for them more than three times...it was a little disappointing really...but the views & setting amongst the storms rolling in over the hills & valleys was the making of the sunday mid afternoon booking
Renee our waitress was fantastic and attentive
She made our experience at Bankvale really enjoyable and personal
Great variety for buffet breakfast with an amazing view
Excellent food and service. As a connoisseur of eye fillet stake, the Eye Fillet served rates amongst the best I have ever had. a bit expensive but well worth the cost. The ambiance is also excellent with a great view of the surrounding countryside, however I have rated it down on this particular night. We were given a table next to a doorway leading to the outdoor bathrooms which in itself is no issue, however on the night a bitter cold draft blew past every time someone went through the door.
Food was delicious. Staff very accommodating to our requests!
Service was slow but otherwise a lovely place to visit
We had a buffet breakfast last sunday for 9 people, some of my party complained about the scrambled eggs, hash browns and bacon being only luke warm. We also had at party of 13 for mothers day and found the value for money very impressive. We have recommended to friends and are awaiting there response. We will try again in the future. Regards.
Can’t wait for our next visit! What a fantastic night! #nailedit
Wonderful night out enjoyed by my family, beautiful food,a bit exy but lovely.
