About this restaurant

Good for special occasions
Kid-friendly
Great for brunch

A spot of delicious afternoon tea can be taken in our restaurant. Made from seasonal produce, the menu changes weekly, but you can be sure of sandwiches (with the crusts cut off of course), a mini cup of soup and a savoury quiche, alongside homemade puddings on the top tier - always with a scone with jam & clotted cream.

Was lovely, food was delicious. Service was a bit slow considering the place wasn't massively busy, just a few other tables in. Food came and was beautiful, but slow on offering other drinks and clearing up. We asked to box scones up, the server started to clear away and then got caught in a meeting with manager we presume, so ended up leaving table and wrapping scones up ourselves. Only other thing I wasn't very happy with was that it was for my mum's birthday and had driven up to venue, prior to the afternoon tea to take balloons, which I had bought for venue and was told when got there, that they don't accept them in the cafe, but nowhere on the website or when booking does it say this, so spent money I didn't need to spend aand took a trip i didnt need to do, so was a bit annoyed, as not really given an explanation for it either.

Setting is beautiful but the service was shocking. No spoons provided, no explanation of the food as it was just put on the table and they left. No check backs, no offer of drinks after the initial order. Had to go up and ask three times for different things. Food was okay but nothing special compared to other afternoon teas. Considering the total bill was £100 for four people I was very disappointed. They asked how things were at the end when i got up to pay said ‘it was okay’ and they just said okay thanks and that was it.

The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for you. The food was lovely but the brownie was a bit rich.

Was very nice but having been previously noticed that the portion was smaller, smaller quiche and sausage roll, quality was good but maybe a tad expensive for the amount you get.
