About this restaurant

Romantic
Innovative
Good for special occasions

ACME is a New American Bistro located on Great Jones Street, in Manhattan’s Noho neighborhood. The seasonal menu showcases a variety of European flavors and techniques, but is quintessentially New York. Below the restaurant, a storied and time-worn rock ‘n’ roll club has been renovated into a cocktail bar, ideal for pre-dinner drinks, large-party dining, and private events. In addition to the bar program, ACME Downstairs offers a menu which includes a number of dishes from the restaurant as well as more casual small-plate options.

Overall it was ok - but I believe it was overpriced. Service and ambience are really good, but that doesn't justify the high price of several dishes in the Menu and the execution of the dishes.

Food and drinks were amazing. I think certain foods are overpriced but the drinks 100% worth the cost. The bartender provided amazing service but our waiter was pretty pushy. We were only looking to get a bunch of apps to share and he pushed entrees and didn’t seem pleased when we weren’t ordering more than apps nor when I didn’t want a second drink (I had work early the next day). I would go back, but probably only for a special occasion.

I enjoyed the food. I had the special which was spaghetti with a lobster and crab sauce. The service was not to my liking. We were encouraged to order our entrees at the same time as the appetizers - for the convenience of the kitchen. I found this antithetical to the idea that the dining experience for the patron was the primary focus. At the price point, one is definitely paying for the experience.

Food was overly complicated, tried too hard with odd combinations, just wasn’t great.
