$$$$•Italian•4.8(586)Situated just a short walk from the Scarsdale Metro-North Station, Café Alaia, a Michelin and Gambero Rosso award winner thanks to its, cozy décor, soaring ceilings and welcoming owner (Vincenzo Alaia), the dining room is all buzz. Thoughtfully arranged tables, framed by rustic wooden chairs, typically bear elevated versions of regional Italian dishes. Pastas are a highlight and fittingly so, like tender spinach- and ricotta-filled ravioli bathed in a melted sage-infused butter. Squid stuffed with crab, spinach and breadcrumbs is augmented by perfectly poached cherry tomatoes, not unlike the fresh figs set atop a crostata di pere. A bar in the middle is ideal for solo or couple diners who want to linger.
Our brand new space has plenty of room to accommodate social distancing. We have installed the highest rated air purification system with state of the art UV technology combined with MERV 13 Filtration.

I started in my grandfather’s restaurant & worked my way up to running one of the most successful restaurants in NYC - Patsy’s Italian Restaurant. My grandfather worked his way up in the restaurant industry in the 1930's and '40s and in 1942 opened his first Italian restaurant, The Sorrento. When it came time to name our new restaurant, we decided on IL Sorrento in honor of my grandfather. I know my grandparents & my mom are smiling down on us with approval. I've lived in Westchester since 1984 & have always dreamed about opening an Italian restaurant here .. now the dream is a reality. My family & I believe that having a successful restaurant is a simple formula - give people what they want: Good Food, Good Service and Good Value. At IL Sorrento, we are embracing old world charm of Southern Italy & bringing it to Westchester County. Moscato is always a mainstay staple of culinary delight and hospitality. Also it came with Tuscan fries that were perfectly crisped on the outside and a savory delight . Now, the real test of an Italian restaurant is the espresso needs to be the real deal. It’s always served with a solid crema! Greeted by a friendly face, seated promptly, tended to appropriately by a fantastic server and provided with some favorites, a suggested mocktail for me, warm freshly baked bread. Ambiance is absolutely wonderful. I had the tuna appetizer- fresh tuna, pop of citrus with the blood orange, kick of spice with the chile and texture with the crispy rice and then the Parmesan crusted halibut with zucchini noodles and in a beurre blanc sauce and tomato’s was spectacular.
