Cheltenham Restaurants

Last night we dined at Lumiere and had a wonderful evening. It is a small intimate restaurant with a comfortable cosy atmosphere. The front of house are friendly and welcoming particularly Helen who is keen to show case the origin of the ingredients. The chef Jon is clearly talented and rightly deserves the Michelin star that has been awarded to the restaurant. The food for the most part is outstanding, beautifully presented and tasted as you would hope in such an establishment. We did feel although the canapés and bread were good it was the only area we felt was slightly underwhelming and didn’t have the flavour and taste punch the other dishes had. However, once we had eaten the canapés the dishes got better and better. The highlights being the smoked eel, sea bass and pigeon courses. The deserts were beautifully presented, personally I found them just a little over sweet but that’s personal opinion as my wife didn’t agree! Over all a wonderful meal and well worth visiting.

Another fantastic meal on Tuesday night. The staff are friendly and helpful with your choices. I always end up raving to my friends and colleagues about how great Nagomi is.

Really great afternoon tea, it was a Christmas present from last year. We had a super glass of champagne to start with. They have us a lovely gap just to enjoy the drink and ambience of the restaurant. The selection of sandwiches were nice, there was a lovely sausage roll which was yummy. Great selection of mini cakes and beautiful fresh scones. Very generous jam and clotted cream, we were both well and truly full. The staff were really great plus it was quite quiet so very enjoyable. Thank you.

Fabulous atmosphere, beautiful food, attentive, friendly and efficient staff. We went here for our son's birthday last night and everything was perfect.
