Margan is first and foremost a family owned and managed farm, established in 1996. Our restaurant opened its doors in 2007, where we offer refined farm to table dining and outstanding single vineyard wines set against the Brokenback Mountain range, here in Broke Fordwich. Our menu is hyper seasonal and built around all that we can produce onsite; from our organically managed kitchen garden and permaculture orchard, olive groves, free range hens, bee hives and estate reared lambs. Additionally, we’re proud to champion regional producers and we choose sustainably reared animals and seafood sourced as local as possible to keep our carbon footprint light.     We first dined at Margans when the restaurant was newly opened 20 years ago and we’ve managed a visit every once in a while for special occasions ever since then. Let me say the three staff we interacted with (front of house (Dana?), food (Christina), wine (Jay?) were professional and engaging & really helped make our experience thoroughly enjoyable. Congratulations to everyone involved in delivering the beautifully crafted food, much of which is grown in their garden. The menu is not extensive but it’s seasonal and what is featured is well considered. We shared a dessert after our entrees (squid was next level and vol au vent featuring freshly harvested asparagus wa delicious) and mains (duck and snapper both wonderful) and felt nicely satisfied by the end. Margans delivers a food experience that clearly involves a considerable team who are obviously passionate about their work. And the wine! Always delicious and never disappoints. Thank you for another memorable experience.

    The food was amazing. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. The desserts were so pretty. The service was exceptional and the staff were so pleasant. It was one of the best meals l have had.

    Highly recommend! The food, service & overall value was outstanding. Admittedly I was expecting the wine tasting experience at the cellar door to be a bit more casual-like, instead its quite “slick”, and feels slightly commercialised. Still, we THOROUGHLY enjoyed the whole experience & would do it again. The food & service at lunch was absolutely exceptional & i cant rate this highly enough. Recommend booking in advance
