As always, dinner at Henry's is super special. Our favorite waiter, Jake, was outstanding and made the night fun! The Surf & Turf was outstanding...the Chef cooked a wonderful steak as it cut like butter!

The Independent is our go to restaurant when meeting friends in Placerville (we live at Lake Tahoe). The menu is interesting and the food is always prepared perfectly. They have a very nice bar and also a good happy hour. It’s always a treat!

Pedro, our server, was great as was the coconut encrusted calamari and the pistachio/panko coated fresh halibut. The hula pie is always a treat. Was sorry to learn Sunnyside is changing owners and the hula pie will no longer be on the menu.

It was our anniversary. Immediately the server congratulated us. The food was delicious and came out quite quickly. Had to pause service a few times to catch up. Would recommend over and over again. Drove over an hour to get there and it was so worth it!

Overall, an amazing experience! The level of attentiveness across the entire floor was exceptional. We dined as a group of 8, including two toddlers under 3, and the team accommodated us seamlessly. A special shoutout to Matthew, our server, whose food recommendations were spot-on. The attention to detail really stood out—personalized birthday notes, and service so intuitive that your water is refilled and napkin folded the moment you step away for the restroom. The food matched the service: my 12 oz New York strip (hard to impress since my husband makes a great steak) was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and the Brussels sprouts were delicious. The only minor knock is the bar program: my espresso martini was made with cold brew rather than fresh espresso, and the Old Fashioned lacked proper balance. Definitely coming back for a night out to give the bar another shot—with service and food like that, they earned a redemption round.
