Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Mattapan

My maple glazed salmon was excellent, as were the sides of butternut squash, spinach, asparagus, and wild rice - My husband's cod was equally great - The creme brulee trio was perfect for dessert - The only reason that I didn't give the service a 5* is that the restaurant seemed to be a little short staffed and it looked to us that our waitress was the only one hustling to get her tables taken car of - We would definitely recommend 75 Chestnut and we will be going back.

Heard a lot about this place and finally had a reason to venture to the other side of Boston. Menu was outstanding — so many tempting options. Why did I go with the fish & chips? Simple test. If an Irish pub can't get that right, I have little hope for the rest. We started with bacon & cabbage croquettes, a dozen PEI oysters, and a few Guinness. Bob went with the Irish stew (huge 😳) and Steph had the "gone viral" spice bag — both looked incredible. I did not go wrong. Hands down top of my list. Huge portion of golden, crispy goodness ❤️🍽️🙌🏻 Fries were perfect on their own, no ketchup needed. Well done. I'll definitely be back.

The food at Comfort Kitchen is so, so good. It’s that rare place where the dishes feel genuinely comforting and still surprise you. We had the duck drumettes, fried okra, mushroom entrée, and prime rib, and even the drinks were delicious. If you order two things, make them the fried okra and the prime rib. The prime rib was new on the menu when we went in November, and I’d go back just to have it again.

A good little eatery in a beautiful neighborhood-convenient to all attractions and friendly people.

I love the Beehive and it’s always my favorite place to take family, friends, and people visiting Boston! The food is amazing and I love the live music!
