Restaurante Cenaduría Selecta has served traditional Mexican food in Mexicali since 1945: breakfast, lunch and dinner made with Doña María's recipes, plus a weekend buffet. Dinner is served Tuesday to Sunday from 5 to 10 PM, and Fridays are Noches Boleras: live saxophone and boleros from 6 to 9 PM, no cover charge. Private dining room available for groups and celebrations.Our story: Don José Vieyra and Doña María Robles, from Irapuato, Guanajuato, arrived in Mexicali in 1935 to work in the cotton fields. Doña María started with a food stand in La Chinesca and, thanks to her cooking, the family opened a dining room in their garage. In 1945 they built the restaurant at Arista and Calle G in Colonia Nueva and opened it as Cenaduría Selecta. It was remodeled in 1989, keeping its original atmosphere. Today the family still cooks Doña María's recipes for Mexicali.

Chef Leo did not disappoint! Especially enjoyed our dinners: rack of lamb the first night and ribeye, the second night. Always tender and delicious dining. Still missing the corn on the cob from the past. Always wishing it was on the menu! Servers: Vanessa, Amanda and Jon were accommodating and welcoming.
