In 2026, Grace was awarded its first hat in The Age Good Food Guide. In 2027, we’ve held onto it, and earned a place among Victoria’s 100 Essential Restaurants. Not bad for a tiny 7.2-metre-wide restaurant on Rutherglen’s main street.

It’s an honour we carry with enormous pride and gratitude, and a reminder of why we do what we do: championing our region, its remarkable producers, and the people who make it such a special place to eat, drink and gather.

GRACE BAR + EATERY
Seasonal plates made for sharing, Victorian small-producer wines, and an Australian-led spirit list. All served inside a heritage building on Rutherglen’s main street. Yackandandah

About the restaurant

The Yackandandah Hotel has been part of this town for well over 100 years. A classic country pub with plenty of stories, cold beer, and familiar faces. It’s seen generations of locals come through its doors and plenty of travellers pass through on their way up the mountain or down the valley.

After closing in late 2024, the pub has been reopened by a small group of mates, Dale Kemp, Sian Haycock, Jackson Cartwright, and Brittany Hart who’ve worked across Melbourne hospitality for years and have a soft spot for good pubs in good towns. Together, they’ve brought the old place back to life with a fresh coat of paint, a new kitchen, and a focus on simple, solid food and proper hospitality.

We’re here to serve up pub classics done right, cold drinks, and a space that feels like home, whether you're a local or just passing through.

A go to for our family catch ups. Great service and a nice atmosphere in the restaurant where we can hear ourselves talk. Favourtie meals for our group were the parma (huge!) and prawn linguine.

Bookings of 7 and under can dine a la carte or on our Chef's Tasting Menu (whole table must order).
For bookings consisting of 8 or more adults, you will be required to dine on our set menus - either a Share Style Set Menu ($89PP) or on our Chef's Tasting Menu ($115PP).

We do offer a wine cellar experience for up to 6 people. To enquire about this please contact us directly, or book in online as one of our experiences.

Sam Miranda had a visionary plan for his ‘Field to Fork’ Produce Garden which was inspired by his childhood. He wanted to not only produce premium varietal wine but also bring a touch of home to the winery restaurant. Remembering back when he handpicked vegetables with his father, Pop Miranda and helped make fresh mouthwatering traditional Italian dishes. Sam has created a holistic sustainable produce garden, including herbs and fruit trees which he has integrated with local resources, such as irrigation water which comes from our local King River to assist with producing the best harvest for the restaurant.

We have been coming here since the restaurant open. One of our favourite places to go to in the King Valley. Excellent service, beautiful food, fabulous wines, all-round, amazing!!!

Very friendly service, food comes out very quickly. Nutritious healthy delicious food. Jalapeno poppers are a MUST have!! Strongly recommend
