Zizzi - Tunbridge Wells
Food was great but the restaurant is very tired and drab. I wouldn’t go to this particular Zizi’s again.
Very poor quality food - all pizza based items hard - too hard to cut with a knife.
We was very happy to have a set meal at zizzi good food good service all round nice place to be in
Great tasting food- starter, main and dessert. Only downside was the small portion for pudding which was a sundae. £6 for two small scoops of sorbet and ice cream with a bit of meringue - not impressed, despite it tasting lovely.
We went on a Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy, and although the waitress we had was lovely, it was clear she was rushed off her feet. We ordered a 3 course set menu (starter and dessert to share) and a pizza for main, and an 'oven baked pasta' for main.
The drinks came quickly, but the starter (garlic doughballs) took FOREVER to come. Once they did, they were delicious and it was a good size.
The pizza main was fine, but the oven baked pasta was awful! From memory, the pasta was £11-£13.00. It was chicken, pancetta and spinach, with a mushroom sauce. What turned up was appalling- a bowl of pasta swimming in a watery sauce, only 2 or 3 pieces of pasta was crispy in all of the dish! The spinach (all 3/4 pieces) were chucked in 1 corner, pancetta chucked in another corner, and literally 1 chopped mushroom in the sauce. The only bit that tasted nice was the ton of Parmesan I had chucked on top.
As we were in a rush we didn't have time to wait for another dish, so I ate the chicken and left the rest.
The manager came over to speak to us, and took my main meal and a drink off the bill. We still paid £17, and to be honest it was bad, and we would never go again.
A rushed, cheap, tasteless meal.
Nice food and service but the freezing cold blast every time the door was opened spoiled it and we weren't even near the door... if you go in the winter get a table upstairs
A little disappointed this time, felt things had gone down hill a bit, the service was still good and food reasonable and fairly priced but there was food on the floor and chairs of the table we were sat at and we had to ask to get someone to wipe it, which to be fair they did efficiently and politely. Just felt a little too nonchalant and indifferent compared to the previous times over the last couple of years.
Does just what I want it to. As expected. Undemanding simple basis OK food
Poor service, lack of staff, no atmosphere
This was a pleasant restaurant with a polite waitress but unfortunately was almost empty hence low score for lack of atsmosphere
After arriving 10mins late was greeted with a warm and friendly smile and nothing was too much trouble for us .This was gratefully received And the service provided was very attentive We enjoyed our experience here at zizi Thank you
Visited for lunch with my husband and toddler. Service was very good and waiting staff were friendly and helpful. The kids menu was a bit hit with my daughter and it was good to see a varied and healthy range of dishes available for younger diners. Both myself and my husband enjoyed pizzas for our lunch. Slightly disappointed with the lemon meringue sundae dessert - tasty but overpriced.
Kids menu portions have shrunk quite considerably but pizza still up there with the best.
Booked a table for Sunday lunch with my husband. Food was very good, waiting staff were polite and attentive. Waiting time was just about right between courses. Would definately recommend and definately be going back. Also good value for money, especially as had 25% off coupon, so 3 courses for 2, plus drinks came to just over £40.
We were out celebrating a minor family achievement, and Zizzi's delivered exactly what we were hoping for: a very good meal out for the family. We are a family of 5, with a variety of fussy eaters, but we all found something we liked on the menu, and the food arrived in good time and was, in all cases, better than expected.
Staff were friendly and helpful (esp. given one in our party is autistic and had very particular requirements!).
Will definitely be going back.
Only (very minor!) issue was the seating downstairs felt slightly on top of each other on one side, or in the way of access to the stairs on the other, but this was minor.
Great food as ever. Best of the Italian chain restaurants in my opinion. Prezzo could certainly learn a thing or two here.
I knew this wasn’t going to be great. I'd left booking mother’s day until the week before and I was left with Zizzi's as the only option. I had to take my mum out, as dad has just died and she needed a change of scenery. That said, I went in a relaxed mood, not expecting much and just trying to focus on smiling with my mum.
First off, they didn't have our booking. Luckily (in a way) they had a (dirty) table.
The seafood platter starter was cooked in oil which was too cool leaving it soggy and with excess oil on the plate. The mezze was ok. Main courses were mixed. My salmon and broccoli was terrible. The salmon was a bright orange square; dry and tasteless. The broccoli was largely missing florets (i.e. mostly stalk). These stalks were showing signs of breakdown from age, and the rocket was wilted to the point of not being a recognisable leaf. Mum's risotto was standard fair, and my girlfriends pizza was OK aside from it was advertised as coming with a wholemeal base which wasn’t obviously the case. When we asked the waitress whether it was a wholemeal base she first said it wasn’t, then she said we should have asked for it (it wasn’t listed as an option) and then she said it was. All very aggressively. The vintage Prosecco was very sweet and we have to ask for a bucket to keep it cool.
They were clearly understaffed. Our waitress deliberately avoided eye contact to avoid having to stop by. As a result we waited 50 minutes between finishing our mains and placing a dessert order. The other staff were running around the restaurant and up and down the stairs. It was quite difficult to relax surrounded by such a relay race.
The restaurant was dirty. There is severe flaking paint around the first exits, the back wall of the open kitchen was visibly oily, and the windows were thick with debris (at the rear of the restaurant).
I didn’t expect the Ritz, but I did expect clean, relaxed and friendly. I got dirty, uncomfortable and aggressive @ £105 for 3 people.
Really nice evening, a bit as expected.
Booked through open table and booking confirmed. Arrived at zizzi zizzi at the allotted time to be told that we had not booked. Provided booking confirmation to be greeted with a knowing look and the words "oh, opentable, you booked today. They haven't sent the booking through to us yet". Not happy. Had to turn tail and leave.
Beware. Would advise if booking through opentable to phone and check with restaurant before leaving.
Nothing wrong with this place and all in all good service, good food and good value.
However nothing really wowing either. A good place for a reasonable night with friends.
Good food great service booked v short notice.
My wife and I met up with our son in Zizzi for an important family discussion. His train was late and we had to put our booking back 1 hour. The staff accepted this without it being a problem and although we were the last to leave the restaurant there was no pressure to close up and we were left to talk without interruption.
As my wife was not very hungry tow of the Italian 'tapas' dishes were ideal and delicious. My son & I both had the special pizza which was tasty and different from the usual fare. As always the house Montepulcian went well with the food.
Ideal for what we wanted that evening - good food, good value and friendly staff
When you go to Zizzi, you can be assured that the food is always of the same standard, and if you like a particular dish you can be confident that it will be the same good quality.
Went for my daughter's birthday and the staff were very attentive (although there was no one else in the restaurant at the time!). Food is good, value is good and the set menus were excellent - more than we could eat! As we had brought a birthday cake with us and still chose a 3 course set menu, the staff very kindly gave us doggy bags for our uneaten deserts. Zizzi is great value and always reliable.
Zizzi - Tonbridge is actually in Tunbridge Wells - there is a difference! Service was slow but food was excellent.
Zizzi, Tunbridge Wells, a lovely restaurant near the pantiles in Tunbridge Wells. I good varied menu, it would be nice if the low fat options said the actual calories rather than that they were all under 650. The food was nicely cooked and the staff very friendly. It was a little cold near the back of the restaurant though
Zizzi Tunbridge Wells. We really enjoyed our meal at Zizzi. Shared anti pasti and tomato pesto bread and just had room to share a Tiramisu!
Very good meal of its type and excellent service
This was my 3rd time to La Notte in Petts Wood. I haven't been for at least a year, but remembered that it was very good with great food. Maybe my expectation was too high, but I came away disappointed. The service was fine, the food was ok, but the whole place was missing something it once had. I felt I could have cooked better at home. The menu looked cheap and dessert menu came in a plastic sheet! The place has lost it's wow factor (hit by the down turn?) for the money I would now go elseware
Our family of 5 went to La Notte in Petts Wood. We all enjoyed our meal. Good service and good food.
Excellent again. Good service and great food, quality over quantity.
La Notte, Petts Wood - excellent service and menu. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would definitely go there again. Exceptional value for money.
Lovely food, however service was slow. And two of the pudding options (cheescake and apple crumble) had run out.
La Notte in Petts Wood was a very pleasant experience - good food, friendly service and enjoyable atmosphere. Garlic chilli prwans in particular were very tasty. Would recommend.
La Notte in Petts Wood offered great food, very good quality and a good deal on a Sunday for 3 course dinner, £16.95 per person. Service was friendly and efficient.
My son had a birthday meal at Zizzi's in Tunbridge Wells. The food was good and the service friendly and efficient. Will definitely visit again in the future.
Another excellent meal at La Notte, Petts Wood. Their Sunday lunch is excellent value at £16.95 with so many choices. Service again was very good even though the restaurant was full. We eat at La Notte frequently because it is local to us and am running out of superlatives to describe this venue.
The food here is excellent and the presentation is amazing. The staff are exceptionally courteous and pay attention to details. The food I ordered tasted fantastic, and better than I have had at many other places. We booked an early table on Saturday night, and the restaurant became quite busy and lively after around 8pm, creating a nice sociable atmosphere.
La Notte - Petts Wood
Good food, good service but no mention of the offer although I don't think our food choices would have qualified!
