A new addition to the Zizzi Leeds family has arrived. Now open in The Light Shopping Centre, the restaurant highlights a few of the things that have made Leeds famous. There are colourful Knitted wool stools that have been inspired by the city where the material originated, made by Fresh Talent Collective member Claire-Anne O’Brien. A bespoke textile has been designed by Luke Trybula (a graduate of Leeds University) and forms the upholstery of the central seating feature. This feature has been inspired by a loom – it’s something to behold! Finally the illustrations have been sewn onto fabric (continuing the textile history) by Lisa Connolly. We hope you love this restaurant as much as we do!

Not a good meal. A bad start as the waiter called my wife darling all the time and was offered when asked not to.

The bruschetta was soggy and badly presented. The pizza was not well flavoured and very dry, the calzone, was insipid and also had too much dough.

The plums in the crumble were too large and the passion fruit cheesecake had a very soggy bottom.

The Nero d’Avola was OK, but the Primitivio was good.

We have been to Zizzi’s loads of times without issue but tonight was dreadful. They were just too busy and don’t think they could cope. Ages for drinks do arrive and then wrong wine so had to chase again, fool took over 45 minutes and when it arrived I had to send back as pasta was tasteless (appeared to be overcooked) and the chicken was non existent, but the couple of pieces I did find were just grizzle so ended up having a bottle of wine and garlic bread as we had couldn’t wait for them to re make it. Sorry Zizzi but doubt we will risk coming back again in a hurry.

A pleasant afternoon with the family eating out. Nothing spectacular but good enough with good service.

We were unable to hear what each other were saying as it was too loud.

Food was average at best, wife’s main course was delayed as the seabass wasnt cooked, even after a 30 minute wait between starters and mains. And an apology for an apology, I wouldn’t bother eating here again as there is so much choice in Leeds city centre. Spoiled the start to our family evening out.

Never reviewed before but was underwhelmed by today’s experience... Lady who greeted us was very rude and was funny about us booking through this app... another lady came to order our food and stormed off when we asked for a further couple minutes to order decide whether we wanted starters. Other members of staff were ok but won’t be rushing back. Food was decent.

Very poor service, had to ask for drinks, waited ages to get attention of waiting staff. Then waited again for dessert order. The food was itself was good. But overall a disappointing experience for a family meal out. Not sure if there were staffing issues or who was in charge, 2 ladies not in uniform seemed to be, one in particular in a baggy T-shirt and messy hair, did not look like she’d made any effort and did not have have any rapport with customers, maybe she was just having a bad day. Other waiters were friendly and at least trying. Real shame as I’ve eaten here on a number of occasions when the service was very good. Probably won’t visit again, definitely gone downhill.

We had a very pleasant evening. Lovely meal, pleasant staff. The only down side was that some of the items on the menu had sold out and our table was booked for 7.30pm!

On arrival the restaurant didn't have my booking down but did seat us,drinks took a while to come to the table. The food arrived quickly but was underdone for 2/4 guests, pizza was burnt around the edges and under done in the middle, potato wedges raw...the waiter did say Theyd mention it to the cheif and did take the wedges of the bill. We left dissatisfied with our food and probably wouldn't go to this branche of zizzi again.

We asked for beers - but our choice was not available.
Prawn linguine - the prawns were tasteless and the dish generally lacking in flavour
I asked for liquor coffee - any flavour you want - only to be told, there was no amaretto!
The deserts were such a poor choice all four persons declined any desert.

I love zizzi chains but this really lets it down, service was bad, food was average, ambience was rubbish! Don't bother going!

While staying in Leeds over Easter we visited Zizzi having looked at various options on Toptable. We did make an on-line booking (although this was not on the reservation list when we arrived) and were seated promptly. The food was fresh, good quality, very tasty and plenty of it. Everybody (party size 4) was able to order a different starter and main of their choice; it took sometime as there were many dishes that we were tempted by. Unfortunately we were not able to sample the sweets as no one had any room! We will definitely return and keep Zizzi's in mind when visiting other regions.

Drinks still not arrived after food we had to ask. Ran out of wine glasses. Side order not received with meal asked waiter but never received. No one asked if meal was okay or if anything else required. Basically very poor service and food.

Arrived at restaurant on time 13:30 and was immediately seated. Only three over table taken though.Party of 3 adults and 3 children. where seated up against the cooking area initially so asked to be moved . childrens choices ok they were also supplied with pencils and paper. Children enjoyed themselves.Menu for adults fine plenty of choice and offers. 2 adults had pizzas and where fine I had risotto funghi with chicken, it was a bit disappointing, a bit sloppy and cool. Service was excellent value debatable.

We went to Zizzi for supper

Service good. Rather echo-ie room.

The platter was good but the risotto was poor.

We will not return

The food was lovely, especially the sharing platter we had as a starter. The area we were seated in was a little bright for an evening meal.

On a previous visit was given a 20% off food only voucher that clearly states Sun - Thus 12pm - 11pm. We booked for midweek lunch & only after ordering from lunch menu was told voucher wasn't valid. decided to stick with original order , food good but my pasta portion was very small, so overall not a great experience.

I booked this restaurant for my birthday. There was a good atmosphere there and the waiteress was very helpful. The meal itself lacked flavour and there wasn't enough of it (even though I'd chosen the light option).

3 or us met to catch up on news before the theatre and get a bite to eat. They were happy to do me a variation of the menu and our food and drinks were most enjoyable and we were served in good time to be on time for the theatre.

We have been to many Zizzis branches over the years. This is very useful when going to the cinema in the light. Service can be abit unpredictable but on this occasion it was fine. It is advisable to book beforehand as it gets very busy indeed and lots of people were turned away with waiting lists of up to an hour.

For our date night we booked zizzi and cinema. After getting over the initial hurdle of our top table booking not making it we had a great experience. I am doing weight watchers but managed to find great tasty options. My husband couldn't be further from a weight loss regime and devoured a gigantic pizza and large calamari portion! Like the half bottle wine approach, just right amount. Very very busy with queues out the door, presumably for cinema. Good atmosphere, great value and very good food. Nice decor too. Very pleased.

I am a big fan of Zizzi's so I was a tad disappointed when the sea bass I ordered was far too bitter in taste. Too much lemon had been left to roast in the foil. Others all ordered risotto which seemed to go down well. The service seemed to be slow due to only one waiter managing quite a few tables. Not the usual Zizzi's I am acustomed to.

As far as chain restaurants go, this must rank amongst the best. Light, spacious and airy. Good fresh indredients, freshly prepared and served by enthusiastic friendly staff. Decent value. A pleasant dining experience. This one is located inside the Light shopping and cinema centre and is great for pre or post cinema outings.

The restaurant and meal were both really nice, the only problem we had was with our booking, made through "toptable", zizzis had no record of it. However they were very good and found us a table as soon as they could. Could "toptable" please rectify this problem to avoid future confusion and embarrassment.
