Dinner was average to say the least. For all the hype and the reviews I expected much much more.
Excellent service in a beautiful setting with very good food.
Everything from ambience to window views, from service to food, from background music to complementary viewing of Art Gallery; Zinc proved the most memorable and perfect restaurant to Valentines Day or any day. Thank you Zinc for a most beautiful evening.
The drinks and food were great. This was a set menu but they were able to accommodate my celiac and vegetarian diet. I still had a fantastic meal
Went to zinc on my wife's birthday with both my kids. Let me tell you the service was absolutely amazing. Greeted at the front and brought to my table. The GM Fady came over and introduced himself and asked us if we needed anything that he would look after us. There something about the atmosphere and overall dining experience that is makes this place unique there is nothing like it in edmonton the view of city hall the personal touches in this place can't be beat. I only have one word for the food we ate AMAZING. Thank you Fady for making my experience a 5 star if I could give this place a 10 I would I will be back.
Wonderful, enjoyed it, will go back
We found the food was prepared superbly and well presented.
We ordered the 6 plated meal c/w wine per plate.
If we return we would skip the 6 wines and just get a bottle. Could get arealy nice bottle for 100$!!!!.
The wine served with the meals were not of a great quality (not 100$ worth).
Overall it was a great experience.
It was a great experience, would recommend:)
Only area for improvement would be for the servers to not rush patrons by clearing the table too quickly.
Nice, relaxed place to have dinner before going to a concert at the Winspear.
Expensive entrees, adequate service tiny portions.
A great place to stop before a concert downtown. Great food as always by Chef Doreen.
Relaxing and most enjoyable
Table for 8 great food and we all enjoyed it the cod special was incredible. Two small issues plastic in my daughters meal was a surprise. As the food was served we all had to wait to get our knifes and forks to eat which happened after everybody was served their plates. Wait staff taking orders and drinks were great and on point servers seemed distracted and not attentive as I think they could be. Always will recommend the Zinc great spot excellent food
Great food and perfect location for dinner before a show downtown. Will definitely be back!
Thank you for a lovely evening.
There were four of us and we each had different meals. I had the Summer Risotto and it was AMAZING. Everyone else claimed their meals as delicious. Varying portion sizes but all were adequate
Great food and service. Perfect couples night out.
The new menu is not that good. Many items taken of the older menu were my and my friends favorites. The Stroganoff for example.
My meal was very plain and the salad tepid taste at best. Very disappointed. I have eaten there at least a dozen times and this was the worst.
Zinc upholds it's reputation for good food, drink and service. Somewhat sad that there were few people there on a Friday night, because the options were so yummy. We were there for a fortieth anniversary dinner with family and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Somehow we manage a bit of room for desserts and were richly rewarded. We'll be back. The young woman taking care of us was timely and professional with suggestions and service. Thank you.
This is a great place to have dinner before going to a concert at the Winspear - nice and close and relaxed. It was also great to have a quick word with the chef - to tell her how great the meringue dessert was!
My husband had the special - which didn't seem to come with anything else, which was a little disappointing but my meal was great. A little more light might cheer things up a bit.
The food was fantastic! The downside for me was that I had not even sat down yet when the server asked if I’d like a glass of sparkling water. I said yes, without much thought to it. He then brought out a large bottle of sparkling water, poured a glass for me and left the remaining water at the table, and of course on it was on our bill. I would not have said yes if I realized it was an entire bottle. This seems to be a backhanded way of upsizing the bill and I don’t appreciate it. Otherwise, the experience was lovely.
We enjoyed amazing food and service at Zinc! Our server was attentive and helpful with ideas for both menu options and wine choices.
My daughter and I had a great dinner at this restaurant except one of the two ladies seated next to our table was speaking unnecessarily loudly and the entire restaurant could hear her! Very unpleasant!!!
Awesome food as always with Doreen and her team. So much care taken to ensure it was a very enjoyable meal. My guest was very impressed with the meal and service.
Food was quite good, but not enough veg/garnish accompanying the protein. For the prices charged, the portions were on the small side.
The food was excellent and being in a wheelchair they were able to accommodate me by giving us a table with no Center Post. The food was excellent and the waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
loved the food however they can really improve on quantity.. it was too little given the price we paid .
Such an amazing meal from start to finish! The staff were so wonderful and the chef came an chatted. A very memorable evening and we will be back 💗
Chef Doreen Prye is amazing!
Portion sizes shocked me! In the best way!!!!!!
Wait staff couldn’t have been better!
Food was excellent, and service was very good. My only complaint is that portion sizes are quite large - keep that in mind if you want more than one course. I had the vegetarian risotto and couldn't finish it (had no appetizer). Friends had appies and a main, and the appies were huge.
Unfortunately the view is a construction yard but that is not Zinc's fault. We had the special and it was quite good and filling. We enjoyed our time at the restaurant and the food came out fairly quickly but could have been a little warmer.
Dinner before Winspear
Very impressed with the inventive and delectable menu. The vanilla butter lobster risotto is probably the best risotto I have ever had - maybe even the best lobster I have ever had!
Picked this place almost at random because it was nearby the museum after an afternoon out. Had the six-course meal option, and it was excellent. Very nice selection of small and large plates chosen by the chef, including a few not on the menu. A truly enjoyable dining experience.
Absolutely spectacular experience. Service food Price amazing
Excellent food and service. Happy to recommend it!
We were specifically in for the Cod. We have not been to Zinc for a long time due to the hassle of parking downtown during the construction of LRT. Well, we were not disappointed. The cod was cooked just right and delightfully garnish and flavored. The scallop appetizers was also cooked very well. In fact everything was cooked and flavored really well. Dishes were light and not laden with heavy butter or sauce. Great options if you are on a Keto diet. Our waitress was friendly. Would definitely go back again.
