Yauatcha Soho, located in the heart of vibrant London, is an all-day dim sum teahouse offering a wide selection of modern authentic dim sum alongside European patisserie and an extensive range of teas, wine and cocktails. The design of the restaurant is a modern interpretation of the old Chinese teahouse. At the same time, the lighting and seating embodies the atmosphere of a vibrant ‘chatter shop’, similar to the traditional Hong Kong dim sum restaurants. The restaurant offers Cantonese dishes with a modern influence, with an extensive range of steamed, baked, grilled and fried dim sum such as Yauatcha’s signature dishes of Scallop shui mai and Venison puffs. The Taste of Yauatcha menu is designed for two people to share and is offered from Monday to Thursday between 2pm and 6pm for £28.88.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Great food especially the Dim sum. Service was slow which I wouldn’t expect considering the food prices.

We had to walk out after we'd been sitting there for more than an hour with no food. So I can't review it properly but I think it's disgraceful that we didn't get served. They said their electronics were down but obviously they should have warned us. We were due at the theatre and had to get a sandwich somewhere. We were terribly disappointed.

Great food as always. We were seated inbetween two large loud tables. Couldn't hear my partner talking. Service wasn't the best with us having to ask for everything all the time. Given a quarter filled bottle of soy sauce which looked like it was used from another table. As always food was good but terrible ambiance.

Only flaw is that it was overbooked. We had an 8 o clock reservation, arrived 7:55 and got seated 8:30. Food is amazing and service is perfect as always. Don’t forget to try the Thai Style Chicken

Excellent food although we had to ask the two dishes to be warmed as they were just too cool to enjoy. The service was not as good as usual perhaps because we were seated in the ground floor rather than the basement and the staff seemed to have a lot to contend with.

I would have rated Y 2 1/2 stars, but that's not available. Y was highly recommended by a couple of friends of mine who dined there last year. I made a reservation for 12:30 at the bar. I arrived at 12 PM just when they opened and they were able to accommodate me despite my early arrival. They suggested a table instead of the bar. I agreed, but in retrospect would've preferred the upstairs bar. They sat me downstairs in the basement. It took 10 or 15 minutes for another table to be seated in the basement along with me. I should have insisted on an upstairs table. With regard to the food, I have had better Asian food from local takeout restaurants. The prawn dumpling-like dish was very tasty, but the prawn tales were buried inside and it was difficult to eat the prawns without chomping on the tails. The Kung Pao Chicken was very sweet and some of the chicken pieces had bits of gristle or cartilage. I finished with some chicken dumplings and like the KPC, the dumplings also had bits of gristle or cartilage. I didn't finish the dumplings. The downstairs location is dark and they play some very loud 90s hipster type music.

The food is beyond overrated!
We received a dirty plate to eat in...when we addressed the issue to the waiter, she didnt apologise...just brought another plate, luckily clean this time.
The AC was turned on to such extent that my hair was blowing. I asked to be lowered or at least pointed into other direction, of course it didnt happen.
Under no circumstances i would ever recommend this place to someone unless i hate him/her deeply!

Both the food selection and quality has gone down considerably in the last few years. For the money, there are definitely better adian fusion restaurants in London.

Very good food but with dim sum you could always do with a slightly larger table and more space between you and your neighbours so you can talk.
I thought the service was very pleasant but a bit slow.
Price point is only fair. It is not exactly good value and if there are two people why give three pieces per portion?? Come on, this is basic.
Overall very enjoyable food but a few tweaks would make it perfect.

I really loved the resteraunt, was a good atmosphere, good staff. When we arrived 2 fish were dead in the tank however were removed quickly. However if 2 fish have died recently there may be an issue with the tank? That should be looked into other than that the mean was very nice, usually when in a restraunt the vodka and tonic is brought separately and tonic is poured in front of you (I guess this is so you know the spirit is in there) this didn’t happen in the resteraunt however this wasn’t an issue for me and I really enjoyed the food

I have visited Yauatcha Soho in several occasions and I’m never disappointed. The food is wonderful with excellent service from all the very friendly and professional staff. The Sommelier was on point and as soon as my glass was running low it was topped up. Wonderfil experience all round that I would not hesitate to recommend.

This has been one of our favourite restaurants for a while now. Unfortunately our latest experience was extremely poor. We had dinner for 3 people and chose the tasting menu. The restaurant however, decided to deliver food quantity for 2 people. The result was that even though we spent £60 per head, we were left hungry. As an example - the crispy duck was 1 piece for 3 people .... Furthermore we ordered gin and tonic for drinks .... the waiter made it all doubles ... resulting in a highly inflated bill (read tip) at the end. Spending £300 for dinner and walking away unsatisfied was really the worst experience ever in a London restaurant so far. Believe this place will not see us again. Hakasan here we come ....

I wouldn't recommend for heavy pregnancy women to the restaurant. as I send a request before I booked that I oneedcomfortable seat seems the receptionist doesn't care. we sat in the basement in front of the kitchen with a big fan blown my face. I had to asked a staff to move me to another table instead. we are not really happy with the service as we paid. I rather than go to china town to pay less money or prefer to Hakkasan with a better service. the food always good no doubt.

Those who have a wheat intolerance be aware!!!
All sauces and dim sum contain wheat so the options are limited to plain rice and sauce veggies if you’re a vegetarian/vegan.

The manager tried to be accommodating but maybe they should consider designing menus that don’t contain wheat.
