Woodlands Restaurant at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa
Our signature restaurant Woodlands Restaurant & Lounge serves breakfast and dinner daily. Affording fantastic lake views with seasonal cuisine based on Midwest local products. Serving steaks, seafood, vegan dishes, with an extensive wine and craft ale list. A lavish Sunday Brunch is featured weekly
Everything about this meal was enjoyable. We were afraid eating out on Thanksgiving would be overly crowded etc. This was in a lovely, quiet atmosphere with a full menu and attentive service. We decided this should be an annual tradition. Oh yes, the food was awesome.
Great thanksgiving meal- thanks to all for making it seem like a home cooked meal!
We eat here often when we are at Lake Carroll. I have had outstanding dinners and wine here. The view of Lake Galena is outstanding. For a Thanksgiving Feast the portions were meager. 1 1/2 tablespoon estimate for cranberries. White meat/dark meat portions small. Green bean casserole portion adequate but tasteless. Stuffing one ice cream scoop size. Bottle of Etude wine was more than two meals for me and the wife. Sommelier was very helpful. Overall not a great Thanksgiving experience. We'll be back nonetheless because overall this venue is 4.5-5 stars
Fantastic service and top notch food. Very highly recommended.
Great food in a lovely setting.
The lighting was very bright for dinner after 7pm...didn't get turned down until we were almost done. Very slow service...waited 15 min. for a glass of wine. Food was just OK for the price.
Delicious Food, great service, The manager was Friendly upbeat and helpful along with our waitress. The Spa was relaxing and decently priced, my sister and I enjoyed every minute.
Old and outdated. The food was over priced for the quality we received. Service was fine but lacking character. Corn and sausage soup was the best thing we ate. Veal pot roast meat was very tender but vegetables were practically still raw. Chicken was moist but seasoning did not balance and the mashed potatoes were cold when they arrived. I expected much better for the price.
The worst prime rib I’ve ever had. Tough, fatty and flavorless. The baked potatoes were cold. This is the second time it hasn’t been good, won’t be going back for this.
We were somewhat disappointed by the Prime Rib buffet. The overall experience was not very positive.
Servers were under staffed. Kitchen was way behind. Manager should of walked around more. Our server was not a server, but made up for it with her personality and did a great job. Other waitress was rude. Food was great when it finally came out.
We love dining at Woodlands. Food is always delicious. We also tend to do take out because we have favorite items on the menu.
While we only had different soups and I had a Shrimp cocktail and my husband a salad, what we had was excellent. Service was outstanding. Wouldn’t hesitate to eat here at Eagle Ridge again.
Excellent. The food, the staff and room were first class.
Great food, value and service.
We have been here several times and it has always been wonderful. Tonight it was not. The food was cold and the service was slow. Our server seemed very stressed. There also seemed to be many employees in the restaurant who weren't doing much.
The food and service were incredible, great views from restaurant of Galena Territory.
Food was great but it took an hour and a half to get our food.
The lamb and the salmon were excellent. We had a table overlooking the lake. It was a great evening.
It was the prime rib buffet. The prime rib was very chewy and tasteless.
Love everything. My husband had the veal roast this trip & it was absolutely decadent. Everything is so good, lots of great choices, excellent servers, most enjoyable experience & we went several times for breakfast & dinner.
We enjoyed our appetizer a lot but our scallops were overcooked. However the manager was awesome and made our bill reflect the problem. We returned there for our meals for the rest of our stay because of that level of consideration for their clients. Our other meals were all excellent. The place and grounds are amazing.
Did the Sunday morning brunch. Food was OK, service was lacking. Scrambled egos were excellent, bacon OK, bagels were stale and most of the food was cold. We went about 45 minuets after they opened so no excuse for the cold food.
We have been going to this resort for over 30 years. Based on the deferred maintenance and overall shabbiness. Probably not going to stay there in the future.
excellent dinner really enjoy the scallops and garlic mash potatoes thx for the good food
It is a good restaurant. The rack of lamb was just ok. A bit over cooked and a little fatty. Server was nice and manager very engaging with guest. Nice view and busy bar
Our host and server were excellent!!! Food was delicious and we could not have asked for a better evening!!!
Menu has been simplified with only one fish selection
Salmon is good but recommend adding a second fish option other than Shrimp
I liked the old menu better
Great as Usual
Had Vodka scallops appetizer which was excellent and veal pot roast which was very good. The salmon was excellent as well.
We Have dinedhere a lot. I like how the staff remembers my name, the specials are awesome, and the view is spectacular!!
I say YES to the above question but only because the food was very good except for the dinner salad which was sparse and probably a day old. There was only one primary waitress (albeit the manager was helping out) and she took care of all the tables (which amounted to 5 or 6). There was hardly anyone there at 7 p.m. So I give the service an "ok" only because she was running around alone and we could not get her attention readily so we didn't see her for periods of time. We had a 7 p.m. reservation and didn't get our salads until 7:40 then the entree came out about 5 minutes later. Not great service for such a high end resort. But the pork tomahawk chop is fabulous.
Food was very good. Our Server Chris was very good even though she was swamped with a couple of large parties.
We had a 6:30PM reservation but easily moved it up to the 6:00PM time frame, and we're seated by the window looking over the lake. Staff and general manager were friendly! My fiance had the Veal Pot Roast and I had the Diver Scallops - both were delicious. To top it off, I was able to celebrate my birthday with chocolate cake courtesy of the general manager, and it was perfect ending to a perfect day. We'll definitely be coming back again in the future.
We were seated right away by Jack who was delightful. Our waitress was also attentive and nice. Of course the view is beautiful and we love to stop and eat there before or after visits with relatives in Dubuque.
Food is the very highest quality. The attention to detail makes the food as beautiful as it is delicious. Service is unmatched. Will definitely be back.
It was okay... pretty noisy and crowded but it was Mother's Day. The meats served by the carver were not hot...just barely lukewarm. My son had hot tea and our waitress never offered him a refill of hot water even once, even though she came by to check on my husbands coffee several times! Coffee was extremely strong! The music being played by some guy sitting awkwardly by the desserts table was very annoying too...I was pretty disappointed overall and wont be going back next year.
Food was delicious. Nice variety. Service was very good.
Brought my daughter who will be married in a few weeks for a night away!!! The spa, restaurant, environment, and kindness of staff exceeded my expectations. Can’t wait to bring my husband next for some relaxation after the wedding!!!!
Jack and the staff are just amazing!!! The food was delicious the view was gorgeous. We definitely be coming back !!!!
We showed up and the restaurant was closed. The bar was open, with poor ambiance and very few food options. Nothing like the restaurant menu.
