Great food and great service. Excellent cleaning procedures in place and socially distanced tables and chairs. Will definitely be back!
Arrived at DFW and needed a nice place for dinner / party of 4. Checked into Open Table to see availability at Whiskey Cake. Had opening and by the time we ordered drinks on the patio table was ready. It was perfect!
Food was delicious and service was excellent! The one complaint was the noise level from the bar. The bartenders were slamming the glasses down after shaking cocktails. This happened all through our time there and was very distracting. I would recommend not sitting by the bar area because of it. It seemed to be some type of show for the specific drinks but slamming a glass down on the bar is loud for everyone.
That is my only complaint. The food is delicious always.
Everything there is delicious! Never disappoints. Enjoy!
Service was way way slower than normal but the food is always good
Great food and service
Birthday celebration for Mayra M we had a blast and Bonnie and the staff were on point with drinks service. 1st time trying crab enchiladas and they didn’t disappoint
Food and service were fantastic! Maybe a little slow down to COVID-19. Place was as full as they could legally be. Reservations were necessary. I was on a date and we had a great time! 2 hours flew by!
The food and service was great as always. The staff was taking all the required precautions that we could see for COVID.
Simple menu, amazing flavors! I had hands down the best chicken and waffles I have ever had and my wife’s burger was ridiculous as well. Do yourself a favor and go experience Whiskey Cake as soon as possible. I’m not even going to start on how good the whiskey cake itself is, after all the restaurant is named after it...
First, I just want to thank the staff- they were all excellent, hard working, and made us feel safe. But the food was great- I had the short ribs (amazing) and my husband had the steak (underwhelmed). The whiskey cake dessert was... just... too good for words. If I had to pick one dessert to eat for the rest of my life, it would be that. Drinks were awesome too. Will be back!!
We found the food lacking in taste...didn’t even take the leftovers. Our server had great personality, but never refilled our drinks or apologized when our food was messed up and my wife had to wait for her meal.
Great service and a beautiful restaurant. The whiskey cake is a MUST!
Felt safe during these crazy covid times. It was actually nice to be able to speak to my hubby at a normal volume and we could hear each other!
Overall would recommend to anyone
Happy to see they are operating again and following protocols that make feel safe and comfortable which is all that matters regarding eating out now
Whisky cake used to be one of our favorite restaurants. The food is still good but the service has continually declined. We were not seated with silverware for our party , had to get up to get small plates for our appetizer and ran completely out of water.
Very consistent delicious food with a superb staff, slinging delicious drinks.
The ambiance was great. I love outdoor dining. The service was fair. Food looked amazing but had to send it back twice due to the temperature of the food. Manager made it right. Will give it another try.
We had a great experience at Whiskey Cake. This was during Covid and they took all precautions while still keeping a normal dining experience. Also I appreciated that they had Gluten Free Options.
Great food, service and price. I will definitely visit again!
Not sure what happened with Service this visit. Typically, service is 5 star's at Whiskey Cake. Off night for the server, I guess...still left the usual 20%...didn't complain...just rolled with it...Whiskey Cake food and a nice Scotch flight can make up for anything!
Our server on the patio was not responsive at all for our request for sauces, Tabasco sauce etc. we could not continue eating without the requested items.... had to ask the food runner to get it for us after two requests to server. Drinks at the bar took forever! Not the best experience. Also, server never brought itemized bill and it seemed higher than it should have been.
We love whiskey cake! Amazing food, amazing service!
Wonderful food and exceptional cake. Wait person wS s not slow and inattentive. Example: wanted to bring dessert snd had not cleaned table . He was slow, but perhaps he had too many tables to service.
Fantastic experience! Our food was flavorful and delicious. We tried the local board appetizer this time and loved the variety of the taste combinations. The cocktails were excellent as always! Our server was friendly and prompt. She checked in with us regularly and suggested a good wine pairing too. Another fun date at Whiskey Cake!
Did not have to wait at all! Service was fast. It was a little warm in there but that is expected in Texas great overall.
Great food and atmosphere, and dessert was great. Would enjoy a few more menu entree items, but what is there is good. Also - highly recommend the deviled eggs app.
Was okay. The place is nice. But I found the server a lil but in the edge.
I hadn't been here in years, and am glad I went back to give it a 2nd try. We sat on the patio around 8:30 at night on a Saturday, and were very well socially distanced from the next table who got up shortly after we sat down.
The food was amazing. Highly recommend the local board and the 3 Little Pigs pork sliders. Only criticism here is that I wish they had both bread and a cracker of sorts with it. We had to ask for extra bread as they only gave us 3 little pieces to go with our board.
Only issue we had was the service was painfully slow. Our waitress was nice, but she didn't come around enough. It took us almost 2.5 hours to get through our appetizer and entree. I will definitely be visiting again, but next time I am going to have to speak up about the lack of service if it happens again.
What an atrocious experience! To be singled out by the manager and host staff and be asked to step aside before being allowed to sat because i have a medical condition and doctor letter from my doctor was absolutely embarrassing and belittling! Who gave a manager the authority and qualifications to be able to not only ask me for my letter of medical exemption but to review it as well? Not only was that belittling enough but he wasn’t even in a position of authority to “make that exception” which it ISNT. He had to go ask a “managing partner” if he was allowed to seat us.
This was by far the most absurd and embarrassing thing i have EVER had to face in a restaurant.
You should be ashamed of yourselves and further more you should know the law and the governor’s mandate and it limitations before you ask or demand anything of someone.
To say the i was judged for my appearance and treated like a pier because of the way i look is an understatement! Believe it or not; a healthy looking woman who of fit and in her early thirties can in fact have a health condition that you; an assistant manager of a restaurant are not able to visibly recognize!
This was an absolute horrible experience!

We had a great dining experience at one of our favorite places! Food and service were excellent.
This is by far my favorite place to eat. The service is excellent and the menu changes often to keep you trying new dishes.
This place is awesome! Had a wonderful experience! I had a great time with my friends! Service was top notch! Quality of food and portions were perfect! Absolutely recommend! You will not be disappointed!
Great service, wonderful food. I’ve been here before and the food is excellent. Salmon, brisket sliders, fried green tomatoes, and the whiskey Cake tops them all!! I’ll be back.❤️
Excellent food and drinks, incredible ambiance, superior service and a very clean environment. It was a first time visit for us and we’ll definitely go back.
Food was amazing!
The food was excellent (salmon and roasted chicken was perfect in taste and presentation), the staff are on top of Social distancing norms, Lindsey was gracious, kind, friendly.
Sazerac cocktail is a must try and whisky cake bartender always gets it right.
Whisky cake is a go to place for its ambience, consistency with service and food quality, friendly and accommodating staff
Keep up the great work
The food was amazing!
We never got any additional water and it was 95 degrees.
Always a great experience here! Deviled eggs are a must every time. Excellent menu and food is consistently good. Service is attentive and professional.
