A great spot for dinner, relatively good value by DC standards. Food is always well prepared and expertly served.
Top notch service and amazing food. Strongly recommend!
The service was great and the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for special occasions.
The Westend Bistro more than lives up to its reputation as a fine dining experience at reasonable prices. The main dishes were beautifully prepared and just the right size (we ate short ribs, lamb ragu, filet de boef, and a vegetarian dish). The ambience is not fancy but lovely, and the service is unobtrusive but very helpful. (We found the music too loud, and the manager promptly turned it down.) The wines were excellent and fairly priced. Will definitely return to this five-star bistro.
Nice dinner across the street from our hotel. I had the salmon and kale salad. My husband enjoyed his half roast chicken which was boneless and easy to eat. We shared the mushrooms. They were okay. Service was good. It wasn’t busy at all because we were eating early the day before Thanksgiving.
Service was poor. Food was average. Would not go back. Very disappointing for a Ritz Carlton restaurant.
Chef’s Table experience was perfect!
Staff very friendly. Food was excellent. Environment warm and inviting. I was looking for a place to eat with close friends celebrating a birthday and this spot hit the mark.
Staff was attentive and courteous. Lamb ragu and short ribs were amazing. The grilled octopus was exceptional.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience..we would absolutely go there again!!
Excellent Lamb Ragu. Great Chardonnay.
It was wonderfully pleasant, including our arrival and departure. Everyone greeted us on the way to the table. The meal was delicious and brought to us within reasonable time. What added topping to the cake was that we were offered umbrellas upon departure for loan (without leaving anything of value) because it was raining outside. The customer service experience was truly exceptional!
Had good food, but I was hoping for a little more being attached to the Ritz-Carlton. Our waitress was very good, but we had a table at the window where passersby could watch us eat.
Outstanding spot for pre-Kennedy Center meal. Everything was great, especially our waiter. As advertised!
We ordered a couple cocktails which were ok and ordered a mixed greens salad which was nice and I got short ribs which were perfect falling apart and a side of the truffle and herb frites which were so yummy my friend stole half the plate! My friend got the pork chops and said he has had better. For dessert we had the pear and cherry crumble and it was presented well and tasted good too after a cup of coffee we set back out in the rain. A pleasant restaurant and the host even gave us an umbrella as we stepped out in the pouring rain.
We were headed to the Kennedy Center and each thought the other had made a reservation. oops! Using Open Table we found the closest spot, within walking distance from our location, that could seat us FAST! We were pleasantly surprised that Westend Bistro was located in the Ritz Carlton, and was much nicer than we expected on such short notice! We were thrilled with our appetizer, entrees and wine list. Glad we stumbled upon this gem. Oh, and our server was amazing! Highly recommend!
Great menu items. Enjoyed the buffet. Service was very good. The chef at the omelet station was very friendly and makes a great omelet! She even remembered what I wanted from the day before. I was impressed! She brings it to your table when ready, rather than having you stand there waiting.
The food is amazing, but the service was just plain bad. The assistant waiter plunked down the water in front of us without making eye contact or any attempt to connect. We might has well have been wooden posts. The lead waiter seemed distracted with too many tables to manage. The service was extremely slow and unresponsive.
The food was fabulous, so it's sad the service is so awful. We will not be going back.
The food was very tasty, staff very friendly and professional. Never had to wait long between food courses. We wanted shrimp cocktail that was not on the restaurant menu, but the waiter was able to provide it from the room service kitchen. Great service. Great entree presentation.
Perfect setting for friends to dine and chat. Salmon was very good. The crab appetizer was average. Highly recommend for a nice, elegant, dinner in a casual setting.
The smoked salmon was bland/average. It was a busy Sunday brunch. Fortunately, I had a reservation. Unfortunately, I was treated as a second or third thought during the meal.
Service was very professional and wine/ dinner were very good.
I had not been back for a couple years and boy what a change. Excellent menu and great service. Food was amazing...highly recommend.
The food ended up being very good but we were disappointed because the online menu was not the menu we were served. No cornbread madeleines, no avocado toast. Sunday brunch.
Moved indoors after local rain storm
Overpriced. Not good enough for the price. Wasn't impressed with the small plates. Short ribs were great though.
Delicious! We were on a time crunch and they were very accommodating. Really nice staff.
We had a lovely time. The view was perfect. The food...divine. Service was warm. See you again soon!
I expected more from a restaurant in the Ritz. Service was very nice, but the food was basic and definitely not worth the high prices. I had a mediocre strip steak with a very tiny portion of vegetables -- very forgettable at $48. This is a bistro with inflated prices. Probably convenient if you're a guest at the hotel, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.
Scallops were good and the salmon needed a little rework but the wait staff came through
Local burrata and rockfish were excellent. Wine pours were a little light. Avoid the key lime pie dessert. Great al fresco dining if you don't mind the sirens. Service was excellent.
The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. Easter Sunday Brunch was exceptional, although expensive at $105 per adult, plus an additional $20 for a Mimosa. I highly recomend this restaurant.
Wonderful place to enjoy great food along with concerned service and pleasant ambiance. I must say I miss the incredibly Tuna Cappacio that use to be on the menu maybe they’ll consider bringing it back.
Fantastic food AND outstanding service. Seldom is a “Hotel restaurant” this good. Worth returning to.
I love Westend’s booths. They provide the necessary privacy for either a business or personal conversation this is a “go to” spot for me.
Great spot to eat
Lunch and brunch menus are good. Dinner menu not so much.
Disappointing that restaurant had no record of reservation and failed to seat me with guest, who arrived earlier. Person at front desk made no effort to connect names.
