Great service alll around
Service was excellent and the food was good but I was surprised that the menu did not have
any entrees. I enjoyed the meal and will return but it would be nice to have an option of
something other than a sandwich or salad.
The Chef is excellent and we had an amazing meal from the start of a delicious musee bouche to a fabulous dessert! My friend had the sea bass and I had the vegetarian meal. Both were superb. The wine list was wonderful and we each had a glass of very delicious white wine. Service was impeccable as soon as we were seated. The server was friendly and very knowledgeable. Everything about West End Bistro is top notch. I highly recommend it to you if you want a great meal, wine and ambiance.
Excelente comida. Es caro, pero de máxima excelencia
All good. Great service.
Tough night. One of the least interesting charcuterie plates. Dry, limited. My filet came out cold, was sent back, came out cold again and was sent back for a third try. Not good. Management did end up comping my main but things spiraled out of control.
Excellent fast service at lunch when we told the waiter we had a time constraint. Still had time for delicious lunch and dessert in less than an hour. Excellent salmon sandwich.
Modern fine dining decor and atmosphere combine with warm and familiar service to make an excellent first impression. The octopus appetizer was superb but our entrees, lamb ragu and striped bass were not as impressive. The flavors all seemed muted as if to avoid offense of being original. The goat cheese cheesecake was the same. Overall it was an enjoyable evening but not significantly inspirational.
The Westend Bistro was a huge disappointment. It was our first time there and we invited friends for what we expected to be a delightful dinner. The waiter couldn't explain what were some ingredients on the menu and told us to Google them. Next when we were ordering a bottle of wine, our guest (who is quite versed in wines), asked a question about the wines. The waiter said there is no sommelier and "your guess is as good as mine". We asked for someone who might know the wines and the person who came also told us to Google the wines. I was shocked at the level of service. Also, well after we finished our meal, it took a long time for them to clear the plates and they never wiped the crumbs. . This is supposed to be an upscale restaurant in Westend. It was below average and the service was the worst I have seen. I will not return.
Really has an enjoyably dinner. Great drinks and food. Dessert was awesome as well.
Service was weak. Food arrived before drinks and my entree was warm at best. It almost felt like it had been prepared before I ordered it. Waiter was nice but not there when we needed him. We sat at a booth, three of us, for a biz conversation. It was private and good for an important conversation.
Amazing service! Amazing food!
The food was very salty and very poorly prepared expensive for what it was
We eat at West End Bistro annually after Christmas and this year (our 7th) was the best yet. The cocktails were delicious and generous, the wine was very affordable and our meals were exceptional. It was a quite night and the service was just outstanding. We will definitely be coming back next year!
This place was ok, was expecting better to be honest.
Good casual dining. Food is well prepared and a choice to suit wide range of tastes on the menu. Service friendly and helpful. Seating comfortable.
Best customer service. So warm and friendly. I love eating there. The menu isn’t very big, which is typical for fine dining but what they make, they make perfectly.
My date and I had steaks and cocktails the other night. Service was very good and the food was excellent. The atmosphere is cozy. I always enjoy it there.
A great spot for dinner, relatively good value by DC standards. Food is always well prepared and expertly served.
Top notch service and amazing food. Strongly recommend!
The service was great and the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for special occasions.
The Westend Bistro more than lives up to its reputation as a fine dining experience at reasonable prices. The main dishes were beautifully prepared and just the right size (we ate short ribs, lamb ragu, filet de boef, and a vegetarian dish). The ambience is not fancy but lovely, and the service is unobtrusive but very helpful. (We found the music too loud, and the manager promptly turned it down.) The wines were excellent and fairly priced. Will definitely return to this five-star bistro.
Nice dinner across the street from our hotel. I had the salmon and kale salad. My husband enjoyed his half roast chicken which was boneless and easy to eat. We shared the mushrooms. They were okay. Service was good. It wasn’t busy at all because we were eating early the day before Thanksgiving.
Service was poor. Food was average. Would not go back. Very disappointing for a Ritz Carlton restaurant.
Chef’s Table experience was perfect!
Staff very friendly. Food was excellent. Environment warm and inviting. I was looking for a place to eat with close friends celebrating a birthday and this spot hit the mark.
Staff was attentive and courteous. Lamb ragu and short ribs were amazing. The grilled octopus was exceptional.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience..we would absolutely go there again!!
Excellent Lamb Ragu. Great Chardonnay.
It was wonderfully pleasant, including our arrival and departure. Everyone greeted us on the way to the table. The meal was delicious and brought to us within reasonable time. What added topping to the cake was that we were offered umbrellas upon departure for loan (without leaving anything of value) because it was raining outside. The customer service experience was truly exceptional!
Had good food, but I was hoping for a little more being attached to the Ritz-Carlton. Our waitress was very good, but we had a table at the window where passersby could watch us eat.
Outstanding spot for pre-Kennedy Center meal. Everything was great, especially our waiter. As advertised!
We ordered a couple cocktails which were ok and ordered a mixed greens salad which was nice and I got short ribs which were perfect falling apart and a side of the truffle and herb frites which were so yummy my friend stole half the plate! My friend got the pork chops and said he has had better. For dessert we had the pear and cherry crumble and it was presented well and tasted good too after a cup of coffee we set back out in the rain. A pleasant restaurant and the host even gave us an umbrella as we stepped out in the pouring rain.
We were headed to the Kennedy Center and each thought the other had made a reservation. oops! Using Open Table we found the closest spot, within walking distance from our location, that could seat us FAST! We were pleasantly surprised that Westend Bistro was located in the Ritz Carlton, and was much nicer than we expected on such short notice! We were thrilled with our appetizer, entrees and wine list. Glad we stumbled upon this gem. Oh, and our server was amazing! Highly recommend!
Great menu items. Enjoyed the buffet. Service was very good. The chef at the omelet station was very friendly and makes a great omelet! She even remembered what I wanted from the day before. I was impressed! She brings it to your table when ready, rather than having you stand there waiting.
The food is amazing, but the service was just plain bad. The assistant waiter plunked down the water in front of us without making eye contact or any attempt to connect. We might has well have been wooden posts. The lead waiter seemed distracted with too many tables to manage. The service was extremely slow and unresponsive.
The food was fabulous, so it's sad the service is so awful. We will not be going back.
The food was very tasty, staff very friendly and professional. Never had to wait long between food courses. We wanted shrimp cocktail that was not on the restaurant menu, but the waiter was able to provide it from the room service kitchen. Great service. Great entree presentation.
Perfect setting for friends to dine and chat. Salmon was very good. The crab appetizer was average. Highly recommend for a nice, elegant, dinner in a casual setting.
