The food was excellent. The staff was very pleasant. The service made it a wonderful eating experience. Because of the size, the noise level was somewhat elevated, but, I think it was only because everyone seemed to be having a great time with their friends and enjoying their meal!!
Buonissima carne, locale non stupendo, servizio buono.
Extremely disappointed. Very expensive for the quality of service and products.
Steak we had was great! Perfectly cooked! Service excellent!
We had the best steak dinner, they accommodated our 2 boys also at 10 & 8 and we had a wonderful evening!!! Definitely recommend.
Great steak! I thought the side dishes were quite expensive, and the portion size was BIG. But I was dining alone....
fabulous as always. Steaks cooked to perfection.. Ate outside per our request so noise was not a factor. Always love the street action. and many thanks for acknowledging our anniversary. We missed seeing Nick but will be back
Overall, we had a good experience. Originally made ressies for 8 people but 4 dropped out and restaurant had no issue to accommodate us. Ordered calamari as appy and it was just okay - some pieces tender, some pieces tough. Chicken with shrimp dish was good as was the two grilled pork chops (with exception that one of the chops was overcooked and pretty dry). one in the group ordered sliders and said they were they best they have ever had. Risotto and sauteed mushrooms sides were outstanding and plenty.
Service was attentive but then it wasn't super crowded. All in all, good meal for fair price.
We enjoyed our meal and I felt it was very reasonably priced for a new York steak house. The service was great, very attentive without being too much. Steak was excellent and cooked perfectly. My wife said shrimp/ chicken scampi was good but a little heavy on garlic. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and would recommend.
Unable to accommodate due to power outage. It was my birthday weekend and I was really looking forward to eating there. As we arrived and stood by the check-in counter, we didn't have anyone approach us or ask if we needed any help. The least they could have done is tell us that due to the power outage they were unable to assist us in any way. Really disappointed
Great food! Good location!!! Family will definitely go back when visiting New York City again!! Would highly recommend to those visiting NYC!!
There were 4 individuals in our party. We each ordered the 12oz filet (medium)to be split between two people and two sides of fried potatoes. The steaks were prepared medium rare and had to be sent back. The potatoes were overdone and almost burnt.
Great steak, great service, great prices!
Apps were delicious: scallops were amazing and so was the spinach mushroom bacon salad. T bone steak was good not spectacular but good. This place has great potential.
OK food and nice staff. But overpriced so I would not recomend.
When we were there, on 6 p.m. on a Wednesday evening, there weren't very many diners at all. (Meanwhile, the hip vegetarian place a couple doors down on the corner was mobbed. I suppose a steak diner is not as 'fresh' as other places any longer? At any rate, West Side Steakhouse is, in my estimation, underrated as far as a place to dine out at. For an uncrowded atmosphere, attentive service, and quality cuisine, this place is a gem.
I love this steak house. It is a fantastic value and rarely hard to get into. It's low key but still makes a great date spot. The staff is always super friendly as well. I recommend sharing the porterhouse for 2 and getting the creamed spinach and steak fries. All three dishes are dynamite!!
On holiday in New York wanted a steak and found this place 15 minutes walk from Time Square.
Great steak and choice of sides, the Malbec I would recommend. Our waiter Rich was really attentive.
Will definitely go back when we next visit NYC.
Been here a number of times and it never disappoints! Great food
I ordered the Roast duck and t came with mashed potatoes which is not a good side for the duck. I think the entree would have been better served with wild rice or some type of rice. My son got the ribs which zI tasted and consider them average. There was not a lot of meat on them and no smoke flavor. I smoke a lot of meat at home including ribs and these could not "touch" my ribs. My wife got the filet mignon and it was tender and good. I consider my Duck average taste but it was a good portion. Overall it was a good meal and would return again. The service was good and the atmosphere was quiet the way I prefer it.
It's in Hell's Kitchen, the steak is good, the appetizers may be even better. Some people may be offended by the decor, but I don't think they should be.
Our waiter was very nice and made it a very pleasant dining experience.
Great place suggested by a local. Great service, prices more than fair for portions and high-end quality product. Great cocktails and atmosphere. You can dress up or down for dinner. The BBQ bacon appetizer is a must. Highly suggest giving it a try in lieu of a high-end, pretentious steak house. Yum!
What a nice surprise. The food was excellent. The service attentive, the atmosphere wonderful and the prices quite reasonable. So glad we found this place.
Very good food, at reasonable prices. This restaurant is a great choice for pre-theater if you're going to a show on Theater Row.
They also serve a very reasonably-priced lunch during the week, which is highly recommended.
My niece and I loved this restaurant....the bread, beef barley soup, bacon wrapped scallops, strip steak, and caesar salad with shrimp. We will come back the next time we are in town!
The meat specially is really tasty. They have great prices considering they are a steakhouse. The only problem is that they only serve American alcoholic drinks. Beside that everything was great, would recommend!
Excellent steak from New-York
i don't ever write reviews but they deserve this!! HANDS DOWN the best mac and cheese i've ever had!!! also struggling to think of a steak that's topped the one i had! good portions and very reasonably priced for the quality of food!!
At first, the place was a bit warm. The waiters were very nice and pleasant. They helped out with a birthday and cutting up a cake I had purchased. They were attentive and polite. The food was divine. Will definitely visit again!
This place is severely under-rated! The apps, steaks, everything was excellent. But most of all, the service was outstanding! Great neighborhood spot.
Fantastic steak that filled the plate with excellent attentive service
We live a block from West Side Steakhouse What a gem Great food great wine and drinks great service (Alex is the best) and the owner Nick is a down to earth wonderful friendly owner
Service was nonexistent . Ceaser salad was made with iceberg lettuce. Had the pork chops, they were ok but dry. The highlight of the meal was the baked potato. Would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Trout was not fresh. Sent it back and had the filet mignon. Cooked to order. Quite nice. Note: No sides with the entrees.
Steak was ok, but had steaks that are bigger and tastier for cheaper. Peppercorn sauce was nice, and the Béarnaise was too.
Friendly atmosphere and a great waiter made our experience phenomenal. The food was wonderful. Tenderloin that melts in your mouth and tasty garlic mashed potatoes.
Steak was perfectly done ! Service was outstanding!
Owner had Fox News on while my wife and I were trying to enjoy a non political meal. He got offended when I asked to turn it off saying "he doesn't get offended by CNN". If you are paying 45 a steak you want the ambiance to be nice. Used to go all the time and recommended to friends. Not anymore. Owner is unfriendly. Avoid the place. Nicer places in hells kitchen.
