Vu Restaurant @ Hyatt Jersey City
Habanero Sauce, Frisee Citrus Salad, Charred Lemon
Food was slow to come. The place was empty. Some items on the menu they didn’t have. Staff was very nice. Not worth it
The restaurant was completely under staffed so it was dirty and a mess to start with. Then instead of having a full service menu to order from, they converted all patrons to buffet only (which they didn’t tell us until we were already seated and ignored for 10 minutes). But they weren’t restocking the buffet so it was leftover from breakfast. I felt bad for the staff that was working hard but this was an awful experience. Not to mention the hair found in my muffin and the hair found in my cauliflower. The only redeeming part was the gorgeous views and heat on a cold day!
Is just hotel breakfast - took ages to be served no one came over so we had to go looking for server, food was average at best, hotel is in need of a makeover - quite dirty and dishevelled.
Despite arriving at 1.25pm for our 1.30pm table we were told we were late and to have our order ready for sitting down! Why offer 1.30 if thats the service. Very disappointed indeed
Absolutely, would recommend. Our waiter (name started with an E), he was awesome!!
I’m very disappointed at Vu. They used to have such an amazing menu and we loved to go there with friends that were visiting so they could see the amazing view. But bow the food is not good at all, seriously and the service is nice but very slow. I don’t want to trash anybody I just wish they would do something about it bc it’s such an amazing place. But for now all they have it’s the view....
Waited 10 minutes for a table to be bussed when there were empty tables available.
Waited almost 20 minutes before a waitress came over, only after leaving the table to ask if the table had waiter-service.
The waitress was slightly annoying. Not very helpful on the drink selections.
The cost of parking was outrageous. It would have cost $35 if I didn't get a discount from the restaurant. Even with the discount the cost of parking was $15! Without a tip.
How can a restaurant charge $35 for parking when the meal costs less than that? I will never return to the restaurant, especially if they continue to charge more than $5 for parking. It's ridiculous.
I saw dishes of other diners which were not listed on the menu I was given? A restaurant like this would be shut down in one week if it had been in NYC.
Great view of the city from any seat we watched the fireworks on Fourth of July. Buffet only that night —anyway very good.
The restaurant had a special July 4th BBQ buffet dinner and it was delicious.
View is amazing. The service was quite good, but the food was “meh”. Far from blown away.
Omg the view is crazy
The view and service makes up for the short menu. Good and relaxed atmosphere.
Amazing dinner for the views. Would recommend better atmosphere. Music in the restaurant would help.
Could not have had a better dinner and they even got us a great table. I mentioned we were bringing our son for his first view of the city and to a nice dinner because he got all A's on his report card. They surprised him a with a free delicious dessert that said "Congratulations " written in Carmel sauce on the plate. Above and beyond in every way!!!
I came here for the first time to celebrate my fiancé birthday and so far the view it's beautiful, but the food wasn't my best served. I also didn't like the fact we got rushed towards the end, no dessert menu was brought to us other than the check to pay for the service.
The view and service were amazing. I was so hoping something I ordered would really wow me but from appetizer to dessert it was just average. The food was good, the drinks were okay but for the almost 200 dollars the 2 of us spent I didn't feel like I got this AMAZING deal. I enjoyed ordering pizza and having the same view from my room.
We sat for 10 minutes and had to ask for a server to come to table and the restaurant was not busy. Chicken I had was dry although salad was good. The view was amazing. I would go back for a drink and appetizer but too pricey for quality of food.
Restaurant was closed for corporate event. Had to seat in bar area on high tops. Service was poor due to corporate event which overwhelmed them. Food however fabulous.
We had a great meal with a fantastic view! The food was original and delicious. We ordered the mac & cheese as an appetizer and it was amazing. The pretzel and bacon crust was so yummy.
Service and view was great. Food was a bit lacking. Tomatoes in the burrata appetizer were almost frozen they were so cold. I would go for cocktails and deserts in the future, just not the mains.
I took my husband for his birthday; requested a window table and was given the best seat in the house. There isn't a bad seat in the place. The service was accommodating and helpful. And the food was perfect.
Very nice casual setting, beautiful view. Our entrees were very good, service and staff were pleasant.
Will return for the view!
Worst service ever! Had a reservation...waited...15 minutes finally got water...30 minutes later our food order was taken....60 minutes later our food arrived. The table next to us was in and out with food in under 45 minutes. Never going again no matter how great the view is!
The menu was small but quaint. The food was good but not amazing.
At the Vu there is a spectacular view of lower Manhattan, which is made more enjoyable by the excellent cuisine. We tried the CRISPY CHICKEN SCHNITZEL & LANCASTER COUNTY FRENCH CUT CHICKEN BREAST, both delicious. The staff is happy to try to accommodate all of your needs. We'll return to try more entrees.
Exceptionally friendly service.
Beautiful experience! Excellent service, amazing food! Can’t wait to go back!
Great food, great service, and an outstanding view!
Easter Brunch! Lovely buffets for salads soups charcuterie. Fabulous entree of ham with cheese grits. Much more elegant than it sounds!
Asked to have a special dessert saying happy birthday but the simple request wasn’t fulfilled.
Unbeatable view. Great ambiance. Decent food. Excellent wine list.
Fantastic view. Been there 7-8 times already. Will go again.
Food was cold but they took it off the bill and manager was very gracious!
Great view but that’s it. Nothing extraordinary on the menu. No Specials. Pricey for the quality of food.
Loved the view, and food wasn’t bad at all. Would definitely visit the Vu again.
Celebrated a birthday. Food was very good. Service was good. A little dark but lovely restaurant
Great view of Manhattan and the traffic on the river, and to watch a snow storm blow in. Beer flight was good, as was the tomato soup. The charcuterie and cheese was uninspired. Desert was bland and under seasoned.
I was very worried after reading the reviews about this establishment from other people. After experiencing first hand I must say this restaurant exceeded my expectations. When you first walk in you up the escalators and walk straight ahead. As you proceed down there is a nice bar in the center of the room which was very good. Me and my gf ordered a drink while we were waiting to be seated. Beers were average priced $6-$7 and my gf got a margarita $14 which was a little steep but they use all top shelf liquor which was great! When our table was ready within 15 min the hostess came to get us from the bar. She brought us to our table which was right in front of these huge windows that have the most mesmerizing views of Manhattan and the new freedom tower. I can not say it enough how gorgeous this view was. As far as for the food they have a wife range of options that can please almost anyone. I ordered the pork chop over polenta which was amazing! It's huge in size so if you do decide to order make sure you are hungry. The sauce it came with was very sweet which was very nice just but not my favorite. My gf ordered a crab cake with polenta and Mac and cheese. Crab cake was possibly the best crab cake either of us have ever had. Filled with mostly all crab meat and minimal breadcrumbs which to me is how it should be. Overall I would give this restaurant 9/10 and for food 8/10. Will definitely be back.
AWFUL! Never again!
After having a terrible meal we were then charged $35 for parking for 90 minutes. The parking attendant explained to be sure to get our ticket validated before we leave when we arrived.
We did so & that was the “discounted price”. We were never told we would be charged for parking even though we were dining at the location.
The food was terrible. It tasted as though it was cheap room service. Also overpriced just like room service!
Small portions & high prices.
The crab cake had no taste & the lava cake was the size of a peanut butter cup.
Luckily we had a view!
Wasted $200 on a meal & came home hungry & aggravated.
The view is absolutely breathtaking and the food, excellent!!! The hostess and server were wonderful!!! Absolutely romantic, I took my boyfriend to dinner and he can't stop talking about BUT! WE will be going back after Valentine's Day!
