Umi Sake House
The service at Umi is consistently outstanding. Everyone is very well trained and sharp. The food is great.
Service was not the greatest. Made reservations for 8:15, didn’t get seated until 8:30. Our server didn’t come until 8:50. We initially ordered drinks, an appetizer, and main entrees for 3 people and the first thing they brought were the main entrees which was odd to me. Everything was amazing and tasted super fresh, but the service was a huge damper on the night. Food was great, but the mediocre service was enough to make me not want to go back.
Fantastic service and melt-in-your-mouth food in fun ambience
Amazing happy hour and the customer service was outstanding
Have been coming here for few years and the service has always been attentive and accommodating. Was no different this time in regards to service but food quality has had noticeable drop in quality. I have also frequented the sister restaurant Momiji on capital hill and the food there is much better in recent visits.
The rolls ordered were fine but not outstanding but the real let down was the sashimi From happy hour menu . I know fish is previously frozen but at least let it come to room temperature before serving . Also the taste of the sashimi all was not good compared to previous experiences here . It was fishy in bad way and the texture was all wrong most likely related to not letting fish come to Room temperature.
The service is only thing I can say was outstanding, our server and trainee she had with her were nice to my kids and accommodating to children’s needs .
Overall I will continue going to Momiji but would hope Umi returns to its old quality standards so that I may once again want to return .
I love the food but the hosts here seem absolutely miserable. They're just not kind. It's also clear they're constantly messing up everyone's reservations. The first time I was there, they made us stand for our reservation for 20 minutes past the reservation time and half the tables were empty. This past weekend they screwed up a groups reservation that was in before us. It was a group of 3 that was waiting at the bar. They were frustrated and I heard them respectfully remind the hosts that they're still waiting. Not cool. Again, the food is delicious.
Wonderful experience! Sat in the tea room where it was really quiet. Staff were so nice and patient with our large group.
Amazing experience overall. Went during happy hour and great value. Our server was busy but stayed on top of us. Manager was very involved, lovely to see. Will be back again on my next trip to Seattle!
My favorite sushi in Seattle. Great variety of rolls, super fresh seafood, and large portions. Plus the service is always great even when busy.
Great food, great service.
Food and service is great. We’ll definitely comeback and recommend to to our friends.!!
Hostess looked miserable. No smile, no warmth, no pep. Maybe it was an off night? Wait staff seemed rushed and were not very inviting. Our waitress was nice. Food was hit or miss. We liked some, we sent some back. Overall, wouldn’t return.
Everyone was kind! Our glass of water was never empty
Our server took over 32 minutes before he took our order. He was very concerned with the table next to us and spent an abundance of time with them. Such a shame, it was my husbands 50th birthday dinner and unfortunately with such poor service it took away from the celebration.
Disappointing dinner lots of noise and fast service like a fast food restaurant.
Very noisy also
Had a great experience from beginning to end. Highly recommend the omakase. The service was phenomenal and the sushi incredible. Will go back whenever in Seattle.
Sake Umi House was one of three Japanese restaurants recommended by our hotel when we visited! We were so pleased we chose Sake Umi House! The selection of food was excellent and the portions were just right. I loved ordering one piece of Nigiri as an appetizer with my warm house sake! I would visit again next time in Seattle!
Amazing food amazing service and awesome atmosphere
The sushi was amazing!! I have never had sushi like this before. It is amazing would eat there over and over again.
Fun Friday afternoon happy hour. Very friendly service.
This is the second time I’ve been to Umi Sake and not been pleased with the service. No one came to take our drink order and then when it was finally put in, drinks arrived 20 min later. The food is the only reason I keep coming back. It’s stellar. The servers and hostesses always seem hassled and unfriendly.
Enjoyable evening with delicious food. Highly recommended!
amazing sushi, good service and beautiful restaurant. 10/10 would recommend to a friend
We were disappointed in the quality of the sushi we ordered. Just didn't seem as fresh as before.
Excellent food and service!
Visiting from out of town looking for late night dinner. We happened to walk in just as happy hour started. Good deals and melt in your mouth fresh fish. Everything was delicious. Garlic short ribs, Calamari, 009 roll, and more.
Hostess and waitress were not friendly. When walking us to table hostess asked if we would need more than our 2 hour time allotment. And then waitress had major anxiety - every time she walked past she would ask if she could take menu from our table. They should print more menus if they have a menu shortage - really obnoxious to ask 8 times over a course of a meal if it can be taken from table.
This is one of those places we always take visitors to Seattle, especially those who don’t have access to good and fresh sushi. The happy hour salmon is maybe the best sushi deal in Seattle.
Such good food and great for a group outing with a wide variety (including vegetarian rolls). Fun atmosphere and layout too!
Great food, great buzz and very knowledgeable and fast service.
One of my favorite sushi spots in Seattle. Will be back again and continue to recommend this place.
Best sushi in great environment!
The freshest fish I’ve ever had. The salmon sashimi was absolutely incredible and the specialty toro roll was also amazing. Would recommend making a reservation.
Trendy spot in Belltown, lots of young and attractive people. Great service and great food. Some options for non-seafood eaters.
The yellowtail collar is a must!
Table next to us was both hammered and impossibly loud. Their whole conversation was shouted. Felt like I had to yell at my dining companion to be heard. On the other hand, food is outstanding. Sake list impressive.
Good value for money. My sushi dish and roll were delicious. Fish was very fresh. Husband ordered a cooked seafood dish and found it on the oily side. I liked the decor and service was excellent.
The food was amazing, the service was great! Definitely date night worthy
Great restaurant with a creative kitchen...first rate sushi and seafood. The place is noisy and a little run down...but the food more than makes up for it.
