Chef Tyson's menu offerings include daily specials, hot and cool tastings, makimono, yakimono, tempura and, of course, sushi and sashimi.
Sam was an amazing server, everything we ordered was beyond delicious. My only complaint was we all were cold but the food and service was outstanding. Next time we will all bring sweaters...lol
The service was amazing. Our server was so great to go over the entire menu and answer any questions
Food was amazing! Front hostess area was a bit unorganized and not overly friendly but really enjoyed the dining experience.
Awesome service and food. Charlotte was outstanding. Have dined at Uchi many times but she’s hands down the best server. This time the occasion was my wife’s birthday and considering she’s vegan/vegeterian it’s never too easy to find great food options. Uchi didn’t fail, as usual. Only minor issue is that the Birthday was not acknowledged by anyone at Uchi despite having mentioned it in the open table reservation.
Uchi's sushi is the best you can have in Texas. The sushi chef Paul and server Ashley were very attentive and help celebrate a special occasion. Also, Uchi's dessert game is outstanding!
From the salad to fish
We enjoyed the atmosphere and food at Uchi very much. The wait staff was excellent as well. We will be back soon.
It was amazing food and great service !
Always a 5 star experience at UCHI. The Chef’s Tasting does not disappoint!
It's a great place to experience a bunch of new taste sensations, at least for me. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, including the valet who gave solid recommendations on foods to try. Don't come terribly hungry if you are expecting big portions. I could hold the first "shareable" of 6 pieces in the palm of my hand... The Vietnamese Coffee, a dessert, is a must. The chocolate coffee bottom is very tasty BUT the fresh mint ice cream is the game changer. I think I would try to order the ice cream by itself the next time, amazing!
My in-laws came to stay from Atlanta and we had such an excellent and authentic time before that we wanted to take them so they could experience it for themselves. Service was on point, as was the food and the host was very accommodating. Thank you for another pleasant experience.
Very innovative Japanese. Great service
As always, a great time.
Uchi is the best restaurant in Dallas, and one of the best that I had ever been! Always a wonderful experience! The food is Amazing, and everybody is so nice, from the moment to get out of your car, until the momento you go back to your car! Thanks Uchi!
Food is always great. Servers are top notch. The reason why I rated “ambiance” so low in my review is that they sat us next to the loudest and rowdiest table my husband and I ever experienced in our long time. (And I am not even mentioning the vulgar language). I told the restaurant, when confirming the reservation, that it was our wedding anniversary (which they made the point to congratulate for more than once-thank you for that) but they still sat us next to a loud obnoxious table full of teenagers that insisted on sake bombs all night long. It was very disappointing since that table had already started being loud when they sat us down.
Bronson was amazing!
Uchi was hands down a great pick for dinner. Our waitress was so helpful with the menu. We ordered a lot of different items and everything was delicious, absolutely nothing disappointed! We will definitely return!
All around fantastic dining experience!! Our waiter, Bronson knew how to deliver a tasty interactive experience! Small taster dishes suited to our dietary restrictions were brought to our table with impeccable timing! Each dish was exquisitely described and left us more excited for the next one to arrive! Great fun for any size group- have enjoyed it with 4, 6 & 8 people at a time!
Our waiter was incredible, food was superb and they are open late night. Can’t beat this. Will be a stop every time we visit
The chefs selection was excellent
Trevor was amazing - and the food omg , it makes you not want to eat anywhere else. 😭
Uchi was hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had. The service, the ambience, and the uniqueness of each dish made this a dinner we’ll never forget. Our waiter ordered everything for us and truly showed us a great sampling. Each person that delivered a dish was knowledgeable and explained what we were eating. Best anniversary dinner ever!
My wife and I went there for our anniversary. We had been there once before and loved the experience from the food to the service. This time we were thoroughly disappointed. The food was sub par but worse than that was the service. He was not bad, just did not help us through a complicated menu like they did last time. This was after asking for help multiple times.
I likely won't go back due to the inconsistencies.
What a great place to get together and have fun. Food was out of this world. I can’t wait to go back!
The best sushi I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to go back!
We love this place. Never a bad tasting and always well worth the price.
Uchi team accomodated every single one of my requests and went above and beyond guving us the best experience ever!
Very personalized service. Server, Lin, was amazing and food was outstanding. Never disappoints!
The food was breathtaking.
Can’t state the obvious after reading other reviews.
This place is without peer !
Everything ( service, ambiance, fare) is a gift one gives themselves!
As usual Uchi was awesome!! We sat at the bar and really enjoyed our dinner!
Service was excellent. Request Travis, you will not be disappointed. The food was amazing. Beautiful wine list and Travis was very knowledgeable, assisted with pairing wine for meal.
We will definitely return again.
The evening was amazing!
Great place for a date night! Both my girlfriend and I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The serve was top notch and made for an unforgettable experience. Would definitely come back on another date.
Overpriced and over rated. I've been to high end sushi places from LA to Tokyo, for better sushi and at more reasonable prices. The sushi pieces are tiny AND you only get 1 piece per order. If they had been the standard sushi size, the price might have been a little more reasonable, but still on the higher side, but you pay for the ambiance which is fair. But these pieces were really tiny, and could not be justified as the quality was not on par with the price as I've had way better sushi for less.
Most amazing food and service. Where VIP treatment is par for customer service.
As usual excellent visit. Great service.
Uchi has very creative and fresh sushi that is amazing! Excellent for a special occasion or just a Friday night break from the ordinary!
Such a memorable meal. We ate a combination of dishes from the cool (raw) and warm (cooked) tasting menu. Each dish was prepared with creativity, high quality ingredients and an indescribable combination of tastes. Our favorite restaurant.
Love love love this place. My husband and I’s favorite restaurant in Dallas.
Uchi: mind blown. Not in a good way. My wife and I consider Japanese food the best in the world and places like Tei-An or Nobu are among our favorite restaurants. So needless to say, we've been looking forward to trying Uchi for a long time. And since we are not afraid of high price tags associated with our occasional indulgences, we decided to go with the $130/person chef's omakase to try as many of the amazing things they surely offer, right?
Long story short, at the end of the night we were talking about 2 things, which otherwise I can't ever recall having happened to us: (i) the insane high price that we paid for what we were served (remember that we knew the cost up front and are very familiar with the concept of omakase or haute cuisine in general, we just received unprecedented little value for our money ... I could've had the entire 10 course by myself and would've still left hungry) and more importantly (ii) out of the 9 foods that we were served from the Japanese cuisine that we are crazy about, I can't recall ever having been so unimpressed by absolutely every single item (the fried milk dessert was otherwise fantastic). Our reaction after every course was literally "hmm, that was interesting and .... that's it". Nothing was bad yet nothing was good enough to ever want to have again, nevermind be impressed by. Contrast this with the other restaurants mentioned above where we are blown away on a regular basis by most of the things on the menu and Uchi is simply the most disappointing restaurant I can name. Finally, I can't remember ever giving even the worst restaurants lower than a 3 star rating for value. But when I combine (i) and (ii) above in the same experience, Uchi deserves a big, fat 1 star for value: most plates were just a couple small bites of nothing special and each cost over $30 per plate when factoring in tax and tip. Mind blown and I'm still bitter about it.
