Our restaurant Tonkotsu is named after the lip-smacking, creamy ramen typical in Kyushu, Japan’s southern-most island, but found all over Japan. Tonkotsu ramen’s smooth, silky consistency is created by cooking pork bones for up to 18 hours, which allows collagen and other porky goodness to be emulsified into the stock.
Disappointing loveless and disorganised experience not the best
Lovely lunch with a friend. It was very busy and quite quiet, but the server was charming and everything we had was tasty. Particularly the cauliflower, which was insanely good
The food lovely and tasty like always just a bit cold this time the broth and the caramel dessert was way too salty. No complain at all about the staff, so nice and helpful (:
Great service and very fresh food at an affordable price. Not bad wine either!! Well located.
Good ramen place overall, the tonkotsu ramen was good, though I did find it a little heavy. We would have preferred it much spicier to cut the fattiness of the port belly. There was chili sauce on the table, but we didn’t find it spicy. We really liked the kimchi and edamame as a starter.
We loved our dinner at Tonkotsu for our anniversary. The waiter was absolutely lovely, super bubbly, mega friendly, just created a lovely atmosphere with each of the tables she looked after. We are very thankful for the complimentary glass of Prosecco. Thank you!!!
Really good place to eat with really good food. Ordering via QR code is a bit fiddly though, requiring account sign up etc.
Food was excellent, especially the cauliflower wings, and generous portions. Service was friendly and efficient.
The food was delicious. The cauliflower starter was covered in a gorgeous sauce. And both if our Ramens were full of flavour.
Was better last year - terrace is a plus. Starters were good (very good for the karage), but disappointing mains (Ramens! ), Katsu curry a bit better acc. to my friend.
Cute place and good ramen. The service is painfully slow. Tried to get the servers attention various times to no avail.
Lovely restaurant. Great for kids. The online ordering was a little clunky to use, and the restaurant was very quiet so lacking in atmosphere a bit. Otherwise excellent- the food was great.
Absolutely brilliant food
Defo good for your money
It was pleasant. The waiter/host was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately there was no cover from the rain so it wasn’t the best experience. Food was presented well and in a timely manner. Unfortunately I didn’t particularly like the main dish I had chosen, if I picked another other one I would of enjoyed it more. I have minimal exposure to Japanese cuisine, but it’s definitely a great exposure to it.
Great food and service
Good food but the table set up outside resembles a cheap fast food chain.
The service was very lovely. Food was great! The only problem was that it was very cold sitting outside as there are no heaters.
Food was horrible
Great vibes! Service was very accommodating given I hadn't made a booking. Not too loud and food was great.
Just a note on the online billing system. Maybe wifi would help.
Fast and quick service and tasty food.
Always good food
Perfect for lunch following a trip to the Tate Modern. Delicious ramen and gyoza. Everything very quiet at the moment though - actually a pleasure for both gallery and restaurant!
Very tasty broth and fresh ramen, love the flavours.
Excellent ramen! Really enjoyed dinner here with my family and we'll definitely be coming back.
I always love Tonkotsu, great service and delicious food. Highly recommend the duck noodle salad for a lighter option!
Great tonkotsu ramen, the sides were okay but still it was a nice evening overall.
I think overall it's a good Ramen restaurant. I wish they had more Ramen options and baos on the menu would be nice, too. For some reason it was a bit busier, but service managed to keep up.
The food was excellent and the specials explained very clearly. The service was very attentive until towards the find of our meal when the restaurant got busier: we struggled to catch someone’s attention to get the bill and we had a train to catch. That was the only issue.
Amazing Ramen, very tasty. Try the Guiness ice-cream miso sandwich, never had anything like it, really nice
Went for a bowl of Raman and wasn’t disappointed. Delicious taste, scorching chilli, and friendly service. Will return soon
Average food. The ramen was not that great and it ended up costing a lot more than I had expected. There are much better ramen places in London
Loved my Tonkotsu Ramen bowl, great location and great service
Food was good for the price when we eventually got it! We were given some free drinks to compensate for the delay which was great. Strange that the katsu curry which i'm sure must be a favourite was only available until 5pm? Other than that all good. Not many imaginative veggie options.
For a quick meal it’s fine. But needed a little more spice and interest to food and more attentive service
The duck hiyashi ramen was the perfect dish for a hot day, would definitely recommend! The chicken karaage was also perfectly moist and well fried so absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was great for a friend’s’ get-together, not too loud so we were able to comfortably catch up without having to shout across the table at each other. Service was very good, we originally booked a table for 5 but one of my friends ended up not being able to come which I told the waiter when we arrived and he immediately offered us a booth instead. He also brought us water as soon as he’d seated us which was very much needed on a hot summer’s day so very attentive service.
Always a stellar ramen meal in a relaxed and cozy setting. Food is a bit pricy, but it is quality.
I was looking for a good vegetarian ramen and Tonkotsu delivered. Nothing remarkable about the location or service. Good for an easy meal out.
The Ramen had no flavour and was too salty. My friends loved it but for me definitely the worst I’ve tried in London.
