True Food Kitchen - Fairfax

We had reservations, arrived a few minutes early, checked in, but they had an ipad malfunction, so we ended up waiting 30 minutes until they figured out we had not been sat. From that moment on, they tended to us like royalty. They were extremely busy, and one of the dishes came out cold, so they immediately got a new fresh dish and then gave us dessert on the house. Everything was delicious and our waitress was great! The manager came out to make sure we were happy...and they definitely made sure we left happy.

Food didn't wow me: just wasn't that tasty. Cant healthy food be tasty as well?

True Foods is my favorite place to dine. The Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl with chicken is always a great "go to". The service was great and the tables were spaced comfortably considering the Covid 19 protocols.

We sat out on the sidewalk which was nice. The server was attentive and gave us ample time to review the menu and place our order. Our entrees were delicious and we had a great experience. Will dine there again in the future. Thank you.

I always love to get their seasonal pizzas. They have a large outdoor area but it can get loud if the plastic drapes are closed.

True Food delivers on all points. Great good, attentive but not intrusive service. and good value. I recommend the salmon spring roll, the lasagne with spicy chicken sausage bolognese, and the lime pie with avocado-a very fine pie.

First time at Restaurant and it was a pleasant experience with vegetarian friends. I am not a vegetarian but there was food for all!!!

This restaurant offers healthy, good food at reasonable prices. Especially liked the kale salad and roasted Brussel sprouts. The salad dressing is light with a hint of lemon and delicious.

I LOVE TRUE FOOD!! I have Celiacs and this is one of the only restaurants I can eat at that will take celiacs seriously!! I have never gotten sick here, the food is delicious, my boyfriend and family loves it (they do not have any allergies) and I heard their cocktails are to die for! The staff is extremely kind, accommodating to anything asked for, and provide a lot of different options. I would recommend this to anyone. The only issue I had was the noise level (I was by the bar so I was expecting it to be loud) but one customer got very rowdy and nothing seemed to be done, even though they caught attention from across the restaurant....Nothing wrong with the establishment itself but something to keep in mind if you are looking for a quiet restaurant. Overall, 10/10!!

For me, the music reminded me and my guests of the disco era. It was too loud requiring us to speak very loudly to each other. It was a distraction to what should have been an enjoyable evening.

My third or fourth visit to a True Foods restaurant. This time for lunch on a Saturday. Very good, attentive service. My two guests enjoyed their meals. I had the chicken panini sandwich and it tasted like it had been made in advance - the bread was stiff, tepid and a little cardboard-ish. My kale salad was very nice. The sweet potatoes were also clearly cooked in advance and re-warmed - no crunchy edges, a bit soggy and tepid. I had a house-made ginger ale which was very good. I'll go to this restaurant again - its solid.

The food is excellent However, the servers need to look up and act like a team. We had a hard time getting our server’s attention. We even tried getting other servers’ and a manager’s attention and failed. We watched the table next to us swing her arms high for nearly 2 minutes to get someone’s attention and finally went up to the hostess station and asked for some help. If they could get this part of the service together, it would be excellent. Unfortunately, this taints the experience.

Something is massively wrong with the cook. I have been going to True Food since it opened. My favorite dish is a starter, the charred cauliflower. I have been getting it for years. The past three weeks I have gone to true food 3 times. Each time the cauliflower has been more than poorly prepared. In fact, I am nearly positive the cook is not properly making the sauce. It’s too tanging, and not as silky and well made as normal. It’s tastes like a complete lot different dish. I was so embarrassed when I recommended it to my friend and not only was it again not charred, but the sauce tasted awful and there was only one pistachio on her plate I will be coming back again to re-check it, I sincerely hope it improves.
