The Wine Bar
The wine list, created by sommelier and owner
Melissa Evans, is a representation of grape varietals, which excel in each wine producing region. The wine list changes frequently and showcases many esoteric and family-owned wineries.
Our menu is a selection of small plates, entrees,
fine cheeses and home-made desserts. We use only the freshest, highest quality ingredients including organic and free-range meats. It is our hope that you choose several items and enjoy the experience of different flavors while sipping one wine or several “tastes” of wines.
They food was absolutely delicious. I went with 2 of my girlfriends, but will 100% be going back for date night.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Hope to return soon.
Delicious food, good wine selection and attentive staff.
Waitress noted as we sat down, ‘I’m a little behind at the moment...’ - appreciated that she said that at the start. Well done.
8 oz filet (medium) was outstanding, as was the wedge salad.
Cute place for dinner with friends! The menu is small but covers all the bases and food was yummy!
We sat at the bar, which was ideal but overall the service was mediocre. The cheese plate was excellent though! However, I would have high expectations for a wine bar on how they serve wine- and not just doing a heavy dump pour but allow the customer to taste and learn more about the wine
We just love this place—we celebrated our son’s birthday here and as always, everything was perfect and special. Thank you Maya!
Very nice peaceful dinner on Valentine’s Day
Shocked that this place is in business. Staff was untrained and somewhat panicky, meals extremely poorly executed, ambiance was loud and building was poorly heated.
-Sat for 15min before waitress came to our table
-food took about an hour to prepare..
-scallops risotto - risotto undercooked, scallops over cooked
-rack of lamb - tiny, overcooked, and tough. Also came out cold
-all food lacked seasoning.
-hostess lacked professionalism, told us a story about her dead dog and started crying without any prompting for her to do so. Also was a close (uncomfortably close) talker.
Would not recommend. I’d even be upset if I were a fellow restaurant owner in Saratoga, as a first impression of what eating in Saratoga is all about would take a tremendous hit from any newcomer travelers..
As visitors to Saratoga during a pandemic, the Wine Bar was a port in the storm. We didn't know what to expect but the table was ideal, positioned just far enough away from other diners for us to feel safe. All precautions seem to have been taken. Service was perfection and the food was great. Will visit again next time we are in town.
Really great experience at The Wine Bar in Saratoga. Would definitely go back and highly recommend!!
The food was delicious but the “large” portion of scallops only consisted of only four scallops.
New Years Eve dinner was fabulous. Excellent food and service. Out of my favorite champagne, and the charcuterie board was a bit uninspired, but our main dishes and service were amazing!
Very good food, service. Very annoying customer at the bar screaming & laughing...... I believe she was extremely drunk. I wish someone had said to her to tone it down...... so it will be awhile before I come back again.
Service was terrible. Acoustics horrible. Food was average. With so many other options in Saratoga no reason to eat here.
Always one of our go to places. It was restaurant week and we did make choices from that menu. Everything was great. Only downside was that it was cold inside the restaurant.
It was our first time in Saratoga springs and first time at The wine Bar. Wine Bar was cozy, our server was a delight and the food was delicious. We enjoyed our evening at The wine bar. We can’t wait to visit again.
Beautiful spot and the ambiance was dark. Bar was modern and cozy. They were out of four different items for Saturday dinner and the cheese plate didn’t have a lot of cheese. Over priced for what you get but it was tasty. Wine selection was ok but I expected more with the name of the restaurant being what it is. Service was pleasant and main dishes were fairly good. Filet was over cooked a tad but again, tasted good along with the Demi glacé it was served with. All in all I would try it again. Good romantic location.
Loved the food! We’re architects, so the interior is important- it was lovely. Best value in Saratoga Springs!
Lovely date night!
Slow service, beef Wellington came out with pastry raw. Waiter disappeared by end of meal.
Although I have been to the Wine Bar often, this particular visit was horrible. This was the evening of the Victorian Walk. The Wine Bar was crowded (as you would expect on this evening) however once we were seated it took over and hour to get our food. The Wine Bar was out of most menu items. Our waitress was certainly over worked. However, although we were incredibly patient due to the circumstances, she was very abrupt. After the over hour long wait to get our food we got the bill and never saw our waitress again. I ended up paying at the bar after another 45 minute wait for our waitress to come back to the table. Disappointing to say the least.
Outstanding wine selection and outstanding chef!
Fabulous anniversary dinner!
We love Terry. She is so knowable and professional. New chef is fabulous. Ambiance is terrific.
The past five years, when visiting Saratoga Springs, The Wine Bar has been the restaurant of choice. The cuisine and service have always been outstanding. However, on this visit, I ordered scallops with a warm olive appetizer. The olives were delicious. The scallops were very disappointing. You get four scallops for $32.00. The quality was OK but I have had as good or better at cheaper chain brand restaurants. Terry, the waiter, will talk the talk but does not walk the walk. She has a difficulty timing the delivery of the ordered items in a timely manner. An example, ordered desert and cappucccino, I knew the desert would take about 10 minutes to prepare. The desert was delivered to the table and was told the cappuccino was on the way. I finished the desert and still no cappucccino. When the desert dishes were being cleared, told the cappuccion was being prepped, 30 minutes passed since being ordered. I'll be looking for other restaurant options on future visits.
We enjoyed our meal...delish. Our serve, Terri was top notch. We recommend The Wine Bar for a great meal.
Really nice dinner.. had a great server named Terry.
Love that u can get half portions
The Wine Bar has been a favorite but this past time it did not live up to our expectations. We ordered a cheese plate with specific directions to have the nuts on the side because of an allergy. After waiting an hour and a half for our cheese plate and ordering two bottles of wine, it came out covered in nuts. Our waiter put in a new order for a cheese plate but during that time they ran out of dough for pizza and mashed potatoes for the side to our main course. We ate the cheese plate and left! The waiter was apologetic but we left hungry and annoyed!
Wine bar that didn’t have the wine I ordered. Took over an hour to get a cheese plate. Warm olives were cold by the time they arrived. Same slow food service received by the other 4 tables. Waiter said it was because someone in kitchen didn’t show up. Thanks for making your problem, my problem.
The food, when it finally arrived after over an hour, was quite good. But restaurant kitchens need to be able to keep up with demand. They made little effort to keep us informed. Disappointing experience.
We went to the Wine bar and truly enjoyed our meal. We tried the beet salad and it was excellent! The main course was also delicious. A nice restaurant with excellent service
Post race early dinner and first time here. Very knowledgeable waitress who knew her wine! Great selection. Ordered a selection of Happy Hour snacks including warm olives, nuts, lobster roll, pizza. All delicious but a bit slow to arrive. Got some salads, a chicken dish and caprese. Oh, and more wine. We were not rushed. The atmosphere is great. Will go again.
Our party of 6 dined here after the Travers: 7:30 reservation. We were seated downstairs... initially only active table, which was worrisome. Downstairs did fill up within the hour. Pianist was excellent. Very limited menu: we stayed clear of the scallops after previous reviews. No bread for the table: just over salted garlic crackers(odd). All had various salads to start, which were fine. Gazpacho was quite good. 4 of us had pizza, 2 had the filet. No complaints on pizzas and filet. Very tasty!! We are NYC area, and found entree and dessert prices steep. Nice wine selection, as expected.
We chose The Wine Bar for our special dinner in Downtown Saratoga Springs and were blown away by the quality of our meal and the service. The rack of lamb was cooked to perfection and was the best I've ever had; my wife's beef tenderloin was equally good, perfect in fact. We each had a spinach salad to start and it, too, was outstanding. Our table by the large window overlooking bustling Downtown Saratoga was offered as we had requested and it was wonderful. The lighting, decor and ambience were ideal, and the noise level was not overwhelming, a comment I've seen elsewhere. Our server, Terri, was a pro. We don't make such comments lightly; I consider myself a gourmet home cook and an astute, fair food critic. I have made a mean rack of lamb at home multiple times and mine does not compare. The Wine Bar was just top notch.
Excellent food year after year. Service can be "inexperienced". Saratoga is a summer town and some of the staff are clearly there as a summer job. The wine list is accessible, varied and reasonable in price. However, it is not always up to date as to availability then it is worse. Every surface in the very nice room is hard and flat. Owner needs to invest in some curtains, rugs and acoustical tile. This restaurant is the best bet and value in Saratoga during racing season.
In town meeting friends for the race meet
Great food, drinks and ambiance. The only issue we had was the smell of cigars. It would be much better if there was a door on that room. It ruins the overall experience.
Very busy during track season. Be prepared to wait for food...which is absolutely worth the wait. Great place!
Music was a little loud. And not quite dinner music more of strong techno beat. Had that been different the ambience would be much better. Seemed like the place wanted a young crowd even though everyone was 40+ years old
Always a great meal and experience!! We recommend the scallops and the lamb chops!
