We went there to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and our host acknowledged us, however we've seen how another couple got treated and acknowledged by their waitress. Our waitress took too long for everything that at the end we didn't even order the main course. Waist of our time.
The staff could not do enough for us! They were attentive and helpful. Unfortunately the dining staff were overloaded and so the service lacked on that end. But when it came to getting what we asked for in other areas such as plates, napkins and utensils under the tent for my for our friends birthday and an extension cord to watch a photo slideshow, they were so prompt and helpful. The food was great. The shrimp al la vodka was amazing. We weren’t sure why the Suppa de pesce initially came out with no linguine but they threw a ton of it on top. We used the vodka sauce for that...since there was hardly any sauce on the Suppa. What we could not understand was why were could not get bread due to COVID? That made no sense! We got hard toast points. The food was great but it is overpriced. I guess you pay for the ambiance. The live music guitarist was ok, not the type of music you go to hear by the sea. I suggest smooth jazz or lite pop. We did have a great time!
The view is wonderful. Food was tasty and the service was on point. I enjoyed the outdoor dining space although there was a lot of foot traffic. Not a negative just to be aware of when selecting a seat.
The view is the best. The food is good .
We love the wait staff too
It was a cold and windy day - not very pleasant to eat outside and no outdoor heaters. We were not asked if we wanted water or our wine refilled. When the entree came, there was a hair in one of our meals. They did offer to remake the meal, but overall negative experience.
The food and drink was good and the view was fabulous. The service, our waitress Lindsey was excellent.
Great food, great service , beautiful property, great place for lunch.
We really enjoyed our dinner at the Wharf. The food was excellent and the view was great sitting on the long porch overlooking the Sound. Prices were fair as well. Glad we went!
Hostess was wonderful, found us outdoor seating. Appetizers were average, Brussel sprouts were very soggy and we were told their fryer was not working. They should have communicated this to us. The watermelon salad was wonderful. Very pleasant server and the ambiance on the water was beautiful.
The food was excellent. I had the roasted beet salad with goat cheese - amazing. The pasta with veggies and shrimp was delicious.
Service was efficient. Our server was polite but not friendly. She did not check back with us after desert and coffee were delivered. I asked for cream for the coffee and never received it. Other than that all was very good.
This is a lovely place with friendly staff. The food was delicious and the view of the Sound stunning.
Great location. Wonderful service. Friendly personnel. The menu could be a tad more varied and our meals were not hot and not exactly as advertised but we still had a great experience.
The perfect Labor Day lunch. We are locals, but it's nice to be surrounded by people on their vacation enjoying such a beautiful view. We felt lucky getting seated looking at the Sound after booking a RSVP on Open Table. If you didn't have a RSVP, you were not guaranteed a table anytime soon. They were very busy. Summer menu had lots of options and the COVID protocols made us feel very safe. It's nice to be able to be on vacation even for a couple of hours on the long weekend.
It was an overall decent experience. There are two drawbacks which include my vegetarian meal, the rice was hard and tasted like it was scraped from the bottom of the pan. However a much bigger issue is that our waitress was not attentive, when I told her I thought she forgot about us she made a slick remark back to me. We had Shirley temples but she never offered us any water throughout the duration of our time there which was well over a couple of hours. Excellence was not a factor in the service that we received. It was very unexpected for it to be such a beautiful place with low class service. Other waiters/waitresses seemed to be very nice but unfortunately our experience was the opposite. I would give it one more try but I will not accept Kim as our waitress again.
What a relaxing afternoon. Social distancing. Good food. Pleasant staff. Hostess was remarkably efficient. Not my first time there and I’ll be back. My only gripe is that the bar needs a blender. Don’t ask for a daiquiri etc...their excuse. “It makes too much noise”. Really?
The only comment I want to (respectfully) share about our mid-afternoon Saturday lunch at The Wharf was the spectacular view on one of the "Best 10 days of Summer."
Service was very good - Food was OK & a little pricey
Excellent meal and you just can't beat the view! Our waitress, Joelene was delightful!
The view from the railing was exceptional and the food was excellent. We had the mussels, the tuna appetizer and a burger
But my favorite part was the wait staff. When I commented to the waitress that the music being played really didn’t seem to match the atmosphere and it was the only thing keeping us from feeling like we were on vacation she had it changed! Lol! It made all the difference!
Along the lines of good customer service, we were seated near the hostess station. The hostesses’ ability to stay friendly and polite while being approached by some very pushy people was impressive.
Outstanding boiled lobster dinner and really nice waitress.
We love it at The Wharf and go often. Never disappointed...
Everything was delicious. KEVIN is the best very attentive, polite, funny and true gem.
The Wharf is an absolute wonderful destination any time of the day.
Valet parking, friendly and accomodating staff. Food is great and the view is
to die for!
Because of COVID outside dining. Very windy and chilly. Restaurant need plastic shields as they use in winter. Food and service excellent.
The view and ambience was great, although heat lamps would have helped as the evenings area starting to get cool...and my entree was cold and I needed to send it back! The appetizers and salads were delicious, but the entrees were just okay...the lamb chops were fatty, and the scrod was plain and dry; and dessert selection was limited (nothing chocolate!). But the sunset was fabulous and overall we had a nice celebration for my daughter’s birthday.
The location is nice. Make sure if you make a porch reservation you’re not looking at the top of the tent. The food was not very good. Had the baked scrod and it was tasteless. Mashed potatoes were watery and all was cold. Dessert (carrot cake) looked and tasted like it had been sitting our for more than a day or two. We were told when we were seated that we had only 90 minutes to eat and then must leave. This was even though the specials hade not been given yet to our watress. We did have 4:15 reservations. No interest in taking care of us having a nice dining experience. Our last visit.
Favorite spot for our anniversary dinner
Great ambiance, very good service. The check-in process was a bit disjointed as it took about 10-15 minutes waiting in line to say we had arrived and to be seated. But the service was great afterwards. Food was good as well, nothing amazing but solid brunch food. Great views. Would recommend.
Great service (thanks, Kim!) wonderful deck, food, accommodating kitchen.
While the Table side service was fantastic, the beach side service under the tent was the worst I have ever encountered. The wait staff disappeared often, our order took almost an hour to be delivered - cold, and the soup arrived with no spoon (which took 10 minutes to arrive).
Lunch was lovely. Service great. We just had a sandwich and quiche.
As always a trip lunch at the Wharf was wonderful.
Wonderful atmosphere combined with exceptional summer menu makes for a special dining experience. Watermelon salad overlooking the water - inspiring.
Worth the price for lunch or dinner- beautiful view and seaside breeze. Feels like a vacation spot!
Wonderful experience! Sat outside for brunch, beautiful location and setting, very relaxing. The staff was very accommodating - I requested a
substitute for one side I was served, and received a side salad, no problem; that I appreciated very much! I was also late in arriving, and called to say so, and was able to be seated anyways, despite the time. I would definitely recommend "Brunch on the Beach" to anyone, a very nice way to spend the early afternoon. I'll be back!
For the first time, I was disappointed with The Wharf. It was necessary to ask for everything. While Covid-19 clearly changes the table set up, the server should be checking in to ask for what might be needed. Lack of seasoning on the swordfish, vegetables, and herbed rice rendered them nearly tasteless! Salmon, however, was better. We were served very stale bread with a soup course. Considering the low quality of the food we ordered, we paid far too much. -Know you can do better! Despite the lovely setting, I would not recommend The Wharf for a meal.
We had a wonderful lunch sitting outside with spectacular views of Long Island sound.
Staff pleasant and helpful. Excellent PEI Muscles and Key Lime Pie. The Ceasar with shrimp could have been better. Shrimp dry and tasteless, and needed to request additionall dressing. The ocean view and atmosphere incredible!
Mussels appetizer was excellent; tenderloin and rack of lamb were very good. The staff was friendly and efficient although our dinner waiter seemed overworked. The atmosphere on the Porch would be hard to beat.
A wonderful meal on at a beautiful place next to the beach! Thank you for the exellent service!
We had a nice early dinner outside on the deck. Very good service. The Scrod, clam chowder, boiled shrimp, and Filet Mignon were all excellent.
