The West House
The Good Food Guide said of this Kent restaurant... “Respondents continue in their enthusiasm for Graham Garrett’s cuisine: ‘great intensity of flavours, fabulous textures.’ as one reader put it."
It’s by far the Best Restaurant, Service, and People I’ve ever had the pleasure to dine with!
Love Neil and Jane xx
Really enjoy each visit to this Restaurant. Always look forward to the very creative menu. Excellent service.
Food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious
A great time had by all. I have a few food allergies and the chef created me my own dessert which was delicious.
Delicious food and wine, friendly staff and a great setting.
Lovely food and we enjoyed our chat with the chef and his wife
Extremely pleasant, not stuffy just good quality. I highly recommend this restaurant
The West House is always amazing. I took my head chef as a birthday treat. Easily the most consistently perfect I go to, 10/10 all the way. Thanks for being so amazing
Fabulous meal, excellent service ... what more can you want?
Food was outstanding, service was incredible and atmosphere was fantastic.
Surprisingly relaxing ambience (don’t expect the waiters in uniform, which is great!), food (tasting menu, meaty and vegetarian) was exquisite but I found the price of wine suggested with both menus a bit too high (£40 pp for 5 small glasses - not all of wine chosen was worthy this price). I truly enjoyed a choice of wine for meat-menu though. According to my companion, the choice of wine for vegetarian menu was less fortunate. The taste of food was well balanced, uncovering some nice layers of aroma during consumption, however the last dessert (there were 2), slightly too strong/characteristic taste may take over all previous dishes (delicious though).
Average - amazing culinary experience! Highly recommended.
This is my 2nd visit and had the 3 course lunch as had tasting menu first time
It is expensive but superb from the welcome to the pudding
Tasty, but minuscule portions, especially the ice cream (one teaspoon).
Wonderful food and beautiful presentation. We tried seasonal and vegetarian menus and enjoyed them both. Duck taco and sea bass were excellent. Burnt cauliflower less good. Lovely pre dessert. Main dessert was ok. Wine pairing was really good too
We have been coming to the West House for over seven years and every single visit has been absolutely wonderful. Superb food, beautiful surroundings and wonderful staff. Our favourite!
Outstanding food and service.
Second time and can’t wait to come again.
We have dined at The West House several times and always enjoyed the experience. The ambiance and food were excellent and we are somewhat confused why their Michelin Star was not renewed. That certainly won’t stop us going back again.
Wonderful service we felt welcome from the onset. Food was amazing best we have ever tasted. Can't wait to return
Wonderful as ever
A really excellent meal with cheerful waiter/waitress service. Their butter was the best I’ve tasted & is made on the premises. We started with prosciutto of breast of lamb, followed by iberico pork cheek, accompanied by a carafe of Pinot Noir, recommended by the sommelier, which complemented the flavours beautifully. A lovely evening.
Love the West House. Service is friendly and welcoming. The food is scrumptious. We will be back soon.
Having lived within reach of The West House for 5 years, we finally got our act into gear and booked in for Friday lunch for my husbands birthday .. and boy are we glad we did. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu, particularly the taco (not like any taco you can think of) and the saddle of lamb - perfectly pink. Also worth mentioning the kaffir lime ice cream although all was delicious and did not disappoint. The paired wine went well and they kindly printed off the menu for us to take home so that we could source the wines ourselves. Although on the quiet side - don't expect a hustle and bustle restaurant, we really enjoyed the peacefulness of the restaurant and all the diners seemed to enjoy a rather relaxing lunch with no pretention.
Very pleasant restaurant- good food. Good service. Lovely cosy pub feel but as a restaurant. As it feels like a restaurant in a cosy pub building it could do with some draught beer maybe. Ultimately enjoyed it though and would recommend.
Always enjoy a visit to the West House. Very good venison followed by Lardy cake (a great traditional pudding), enhanced by ice cream flavoured with Chinese tea.
The food, service and ambience was fantastic. Lovely restaurant and we will be coming back.
We thoroughly enjoy every aspect of The West House, the flavours of each dish is unbelievable, and the creativity exceptional. Service is just right, and we always look forward to our visit.
We opted for a fixed-price 3 course a la carte lunch. Every bite we ate was delicious. The service was attentive. It's not cheap, but we thought it was worth it.
Lovely meal, interesting take on classic dishes, will definitely return soon!
Wonderful place for a special meal
Been to this place a few times and never had any issues. Fantastic place!!
Affordable lunch menu, excellent food, lovely atmosphere and spot-in service. It’s why we keep going back!
Fantastic food, friendly efficient service from chef and family members.
I would wholeheartedly recommend the 7 course tasting menu with paired wines.
We were recommended to the West House by friends and this was our first visit. Everything was excellent from beginning to end, cannot fault it.
Had a fantastic meal as always, great atmosphere and a very good tasting menu.
Warm and relaxed welcome. Lunch menu - 3 courses for £30 - delightful combinations in each course, great depth of flavour, beautifully presented. Thank you.
Very very lucky to have this outstanding restaurant within a reasonable driving distance.
The food is what you would expect from a 1 mitchelin starred restaurant excellent!
The service was good but very informal. Served by the Chef Patrons wife/partner and their son, very pleasant and chatty (when asked). The restuarant is cosy and comfortable casual (not stuffy).
As always, Graham Garrett’s cooking is a delicious joy.
Our ideal retirement would be within walking distance of the west house and do be able to go as frequently as we could. We have always come away feeling like we've had an other worldly experience from the incredible food and setting. The glowing pampered feeling lingers for days- no where we have ever been does that with such surety and regularity. Thankyou.
Best restaurant in Kent.
Phenomenally good food.
Expensive, but what do you expect for Michelin Star dining!
We decided to go away for a night from London and we are so pleased we decided to dine here. The restaurant is in a wonderful out 15th century building with exposed beams. It is a small dining room but this is not an issue. We opted for the tasting menu with paired wines which was perfect. The portions were spot on with excellently paired wines from mainly Europe. The dishes were faultless and the meal superb which leaves me to say this restaurant deserves another star and is highly recommended.
