Heating wasn't on and staff literally came back and said they don't know how to turn it on. Sunday roast was okay but took 45 minutes to come out, only 3 choices for red wine, wouldn't go again except for a beer.

Dear Xavier, I am sorry you were disappointed. Indeed our boiler was not working but being Sunday we couldn't repair it. Standing heaters were brought in the afternoon as an emergency precaution. Regarding the wait, It wasn't flagged by any staff but I will definitely look into it. Our menu has 3 reds listed but it's being updated for the new. We have 7 reds by the glass, next time please ask a member of staff as I am sure we will have something for you. I hope you give us a change in future!

My friend and I hugely enjoyed the "Eat Out to Help Out" half-price dinner at The Warrington. The waiting staff were friendly and helpful.

The waiting staff were very nice, however the waitress wasn’t allowed to take our drinks from the tray but the waiter handled our cutlery which is a bit confusing. My husband was a bit disappointed eating his pie and mash from the cardboard container which was on the cold side. I had the lasagna served in a foil tray parts were warm and parts of the food was piping and they left out the side of salad and slaw. They did offer an extra discount for the forgotten sides. The overall taste of the food was good, but we won’t be rushing back there, the food used to be of much higher standard.

The same abysmal service that has been a feature of the Warrington for years. COVID-19 means all places deserve a chance, deserve the benefit of the doubt. Last night’s chaotic service and repeated mistakes I can excuse, under the circumstances, but the rudeness is unforgivable. There are plenty of other pubs and restaurants in the area that are doing their very best - I strongly advise you seek them out before the Warrington.

Responded on 15 August 2020

Dear Anonymous, We agree rudeness is never acceptable. We've just recently made changes to our team so we can offer the best service and I am very keen on hearing the details of your experience so we can address it. Please email us warringtonatgbpubscom or give us a call if you can spare a couple of minutes. I would appreciated it. Kind Regards, Fernanda

Great burgers! But really disappointed no chips available at all, a burger without chips isn’t quite right!

Dear Katie, Thank you for your review, we are listening. The idea to do the barbecue is to have that summer feeling in our garden, but at the same time it means our chef is cooking in the beer garden where a fryer is not available. Our burgers come with fries Mon-Fri when we don't have the barbecue. We area adapting constantly in these difficult times so it might be that we need to review that too. Thank you.

We waited 20 min for our drinks (one beer and one cider) and we waited more than 1 hour for our food. Restaurant was not that busy and plenty of staff was around. After more than 1 hour we asked information about our order and we were told one of the item we had ordered wasn't available that night, nice! 5 minutes after we called the waiter the food arrived and, surprise surprise, was slightly microwaved and still cold. Food, if it wasn't cold, would've been ok.

The Warrington Hotel - Maida Vale
Responded on 5 August 2020

Dear Mauro, I am sorry we could not live up to your expectations that evening. One thing I can assure you we don't use a microwave to cook or reheat food in our kitchens, if food goes cold for any reason, we always send a new dish. I was on shift that evening but I wasn't made aware of any issues with your table, I would like to hear more about your experience so we can address such issues internally. I will send you an e-mail now. Kind Regards, Fernanda

Great venue, they're adhering to social distancing well whilst still creating an enjoyable environment - only thing is you sometimes get left for quite a long time with the table service - maybe an app ordering system would work better?

The women by the dest serving us was extremely rude. We came sunday just past at around 5 pm. We asked if you could sit outside and she said she will let us know as soon as its free which was fine as we already had a table booked inside.
About15 mins later, I went in the garden to smoke and saw a table free so I went to ask the same lady if we can sit there if its free? We cam back in the garden for her to check and suddenly she started being rude and load and said to me in fromt of everyone that i need to get off her shoulder and stop pressuring her fif a table! Which i never did. Then she told me I can’t smoke in the garden and i have to out to smoke .

20 mins later she came and sat us down outside. 5 minutes later she was serving a table in front of us , And they were all smoking and she never said a word! Shocking! This behaviour is absolutely unnecessary and not acceptable.
We are never coming back.

Hi Melissa, There are lots of changes we are having to go through with reopening our lovely Pub and smoking has been a challenge. We do not allow anyone to smoke in our outside area, apart from in the designated space. It isn't easy to police all of the time! Thanks for raising this though and I have asked the team to keep a close eye on it this week. If you would like to come back and visit at any time, you would be very welcome of course as we all work together in these difficult times.

We are repeat guests at Warrington since before the lockdown. We were very happy when they reopened last 4th July and we are quite impressed how well they implemented all new procedures to handle this difficult situation. One few other places are doing what they do to maintain a high standard of H&S during this difficult time.

The place is beautiful. The service is non existent, since the customers must get up from the table and order at the bar. The restaurant is ran by the bartender and one or two overwhelmed servers. The food was horrible: a so-called steak hard, cold, drowned in a thick, greasy sauce. Everything was poor quality, prepared and served indifferently and grossly overpriced. Even the person who handled the payment of the check agreed with us. Basically, not a place for food. Period.

I had to wait 2wks to get the Sunday lunch slot on 24th June. Lovely venue, friendly staff. I was looking forward to some Lamb but only Pork, Chicken and Beef on offer, already disappointed. I chose the Beef roast and my bf chose Chicken roast. My lunch was warm, bordering cold in some places. Like it was ready and sitting there for a staff member to pick up and bring over. My bf said his roast was fine. The potatoes i am afraid as i do love my roast potatoes tasted like they were from the night before, a bit tough and not fresh, they definitely were not. Also not enough gravy given, maybe they should give you extra gravy on the side if you are someone who likes to pour your own. Also veggies very aldante (hard) for me so my bf scoffed them. If I return, it will not be for food I don't think, but just for a drink as you can't go far wrong with that.

Reserved a table but Bar Staff weren't 100% sure which table was ours. After ordering, our main meal was bought other first and our hors deuvrès forgotten about entirely (even though ordered and paid for). These were then bought after the main meal with no offer to return our main meals to the kitchen to keep them warm whilst we finished our main meal. Food was tasty but overpriced. All in all, adequate, but not one to recommend.

The building is very beautiful and there is a good ambience. However, the food is really poor. I had a risotto which was supposed to come with a green salad - it had one leaf on it and was really not tasty at all. The service was poor - I had to help myself to menus and they didn't tell us table service had ended towards the end of the night so left us. It was confusing. Recommend the place for drinks but not for food and definitely not for a special occasion.

Good place for beer! We went there for casual dining and were given a spot in the beer garden between two smoking tables even after making a reservation. There was no way to enjoy a meal in a cloud of smoke. So we left.
Would be fine just for going there for drinks and enjoy outdoors.

Very quiet Monday lunch, with only 6 people in the room, but that suited us fine. The building has a fabulous interior and probably banged out on a summers evening. Service was great, but the Food was variable with the pork chop being excellent, but the fish part of the fish and chips was overcooked and a bit dry, and the Mac cheese bland. It's unpretentiosly pub grub, but it could be better

Arrived to find they had no record of our online booking. It was lucky they had a couple of tables anyway. The décor is stunning, particularly the ceilings and above the bar area. Ordered a burger and a chicken supreme. Waited around 25 minutes but then the waitress produced two burgers. She was, eventually, apologetic, and served up the supreme about 20 mins later. It wasn't her fault. At this point, one of the bar men, came and asked us something. We thought he was asking us if we wanted a refill of our empty glasses of pale ale. Perhaps as an apology for the mix up with the food. So of course we said yes. He took the glasses so I shouted after him that they were both pale ales. At which point he turned around and looked confused. But appeared to nod agreement. No refills were forthcoming however. The burger was very good. Meaty and decent chips. The chicken supreme was rich but not as creamy as you would usually expect. Still, not bad, albeit slightly on the pricey size for fairly standard pub grub. We had banoffee pie and chocolate brownie for desserts, and these were probably the highlights of the dining experience, both delicious. So, exquisite surroundings, slightly ropey service, food acceptable/quite nice without elevating itself out of the category of your usual pub fare. And slightly pricey for what it was. Some of the bad points may have been bad luck and the pub is worth a visit for the architecture alone.

We went for mother's day brunch and the service was appalling. The staff were sullen, inattentive and withdrawn. There was no atmosphere. There were only 6 other people in the restaurant and they were not run off their feet. We had to ask to order after being left without a drink order for 15 minutes. The food portions were small for the prices of each dish. We will not be returning.
