Tucked away in Wilton's quaint Cannondale Village overlooking the babbling Norwalk river, the restaurant is located inside a schoolhouse built just after the civil war in 1872. The completely renovated and stylish interior reflects the elegant and thoughtful cuisine of Chef Tim LaBant whose focus is on searching out the finest ingredients from both local CT farms and exceptionally passionate farmers from around the nation.

The Schoolhouse epitomizes New England charm, simplicity and an unbeatable standard of excellence. I am not a big beef eater and when I do have it, it is usually filet mignon. However, this NY Strip was as tender as that, but far more flavorful. The food was outstanding and the whole dining experience, including service and ambience was superb, not to mention the fabulous martinis. This is a must stop for a summer’s delight.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Schoolhouse. We shared a salad of melon and cucumber. My husband followed that with a Kobe beef burger, and I had the house-cured gravlax with an egg baked in a slice of toast and served with a small green salad. Everything was delicious, and the service was -- as always -- polite, courteous, and attentive.

Quite simply the best restaurant in the entire Riedgefield-Redding, Wilton, Weston, Katonah, Lewisboro, Pound Ridge region. The best food. Period. Gnocci with portobellos, duck two ways -- roast and confit --, asparagus soup with crabmeat, pappardelle with veg. All fantastic.

We went for an anniversary dinner, and sat outside by the creek. It was so peaceful and beautiful, though there were trains that rolled by periodically. The food was stellar. Perfectly cooked, right-size portions. Service was very attentive and friendly. We'll be back!

The Schoolhouse Restaurant has always been our favorite restaurant in Wilton. The staff is outstanding, friendly, accomodating, helpful. We often bring a dear friend in a wheelchair and they are wonderful and take extra care to be certain that she is comfortable. It is attractive, the food is delicious and it is set alongside a river. We love it there. Thank you!

Schoolhouse is my favorite restaurant in CT.
We took my parents for their first time and they are now big fans.
The food stands out with high quality farm to table, the flavors are so delicious and the heart in the making of each dish comes through.
Service and available drink choices are wonderful.
This is a very special place.

We went there because someone recommended this restaurant to us. It is a small, cute location. The service was fantastic. The team was kind, patient, and were very thorough in their explanations. I had forgotten to book the chocolate desert ahead but they still made it happen which was super nice. The food was delicious! I highly recommend this place.

We went for Mother's Day and I was a bit disappointed. They had an adult prix-fixe menu/price as well as one for kids. I did not see the menu beforehand as it is formulated by the chef that day. Looking back, it was not an ideal place to go for Mother's Day as the kids had the exact same options as the parents with no modifications made. We go out to eat quite often and there are many times where there is no kid's menu, but the chef will sometimes make small modifications. In this case, the waiter said that they don't make modifications. They ate a lot of bread. I'm not blaming the restaurant - I should have done a better job pushing to understand the options for kids, but I thought since it was a "Mother's Day Prix Fixe", there would be overall more thought given to this. Anyway, we were a bit disappointed by the experience.

Our Mother's Day lunch was spectacular! As it always is, the service was outstanding, the food creative and delicious, and the atmosphere charming and relaxing. Instead of ordering our favorite Sunday brunch dish (the Schoolhouse Benedict), we tried the new entrees: shrimp and grits, pulled pork, and French toast made with brioche. Everyone was delighted with the new choices. Dining at the Schoolhouse made our day special. It has become a well-loved family tradition!

The food and service were excellent as usual. My only suggestion is to have the option of vanilla or chocolate ice cream as a dessert for children. There is only one dessert choice at brunch- delicious- but not always appealing to young children. On holidays where there are many children attending this would be an added plus.
Schoolhouse remains one of my favorite restaurants.

Cocktails, food, service and decor are wonderful. It’s a tiny space and over the years people have gotten louder and louder, so it’s now painfully loud. Luckily they are adding noise canceling technology to counteract the noise. I’m looking forward to returning

Adorable little schoolhouse turned into a fabulous restaurant. Welcoming and attentive service. The octopus starter was divine - smoky chorizo added wonderful flavor. The duck duo was a gorgeous piece of art that tasted as good as it looked. We were too sated to try the chocolate souffle, but the one next to us looked and smelled amazing. Great wine list. Would definitely recommend!

The food was spectacular in every way, with many layers of flavors and textures.
My only disappointment was the wine list.I REALLY wish restaurants would carry a few organic wines. There are so many of us who have problems with sulfites these days. It’s not that hard to carry a couple selections. We’ll be back and will hope there will be a wine for me😊
