The Saddle Room at the Shelbourne Hotel
The occasion was a quiet dinner to discuss a number of business related issues. We were given a quiet corner though this had not been previously requested which suited excellently.
The entire evening was superb - the quality of food and the service could not be faulted. Overall, a great night.
Very cozy experience and intimate and private with it almost being like private dining. Attentive staff and nice touches make for a great place for a romantic occasion
A very pleasant experience with wonderful service and lovely food
Below average dining experience. Fancied the beef Wellington until we noticed it’s a 24 hour wait. Not really ideal as we planned on eating whilst we were actually there. Ordered chateaubriand, the chap who carved it at the table appeared to do so with a bread knife. The result was it more a torn apart steak than elegantly carved. Wine list is slim to say the least. 2 courses with wine €380. Works out better value to go to Patrick Guilbaud which has two Michelin stars. I know where I’ll be going next.
The Saddle Room is a super place to have a celebration lunch. It's just that little bit special, entices you to sit and chat. Also great for the old mammy who can hear the conversation unlike most modern shiny places she goes.
The food was sensational, but the service was dreadful. We had to get up from our table to find staff on a few occasions. Major delays with food and wine serving. Andrew Burns 0872255577
Me and my husband decided to go there X our anniversary....very bad decision...we got the worst table, beside The open kitchen, also if The restaurant wasn t that busy!Food...nothing special, for prices they have!
Excellent evening will certainly go again and may stay over.
Excellent meal well staffed
Really lovely for my mother’s 70th birthday lunch! Def recommend. Staff lovely. Food delicious.
We had a fantastic experience @ The Shelbourne...we were warmly welcomed, friendly conversation about our evening to date and plans for later and menu explained. Our waiter Kasper was pleasant & attentive as were all the other staff who looked after us (apologies I don't have their names). Our food was heavenly- both of us ordered the same - Scallops & Fillet steak- both cooked to perfection and presented that tantilised your senses of sight and smell before your taste buds were delighted. Thank you chefs. We were further delighted that our "greeting conversation" was so genuine that we were surprised with a 25th Wedding Anniversary dessert- much appreciated. We had a fantastic time- sorry we had to leave but Riverdance was calling!
Thanks to all for how you looked after us so attentively (always knew when we needed a top up of water/wine) and without intrusion on our conversation and special date night.
Go raibh míle maith agaibh.
We had a great family meal. It was the first time ever dining there. During the meal I said to my wife we should go back with friends. It was absolutely a fabulous Experince. We will be back shortly.
Great food, great service and very reasonably priced - I’ll be back
Food was excellent, my new favourite place in Dublin for lunch.
Enjoyed the ambience and food. Such attentive and friendly staff . Looking forward to our next visit!
We really enjoyed our visit to the Saddle Room. Great food, great service at a good price.
Highly recommended . We'll be back again.
All the staff were friendly and attentive, enjoyed my night very much thanks to the staff as they made the birthday dinner I had booked very enjoyable and smooth.
Everything was amazing! Chef was amazing also!
Would highly recommend.
Really enjoyed my experience of the shelbourne. Fab food great staff and beautiful restaurant
We decided to elope and came here after the ceremony, the staff were fantastic and food was delicious.
They helped make our day special ( even if we were sneaking off for a quiet wedding).
Excellent service from our waiter Jack. Celebrating birthday and made the occasion very memorable and enjoyable. Great Irish hospitality.
Perfect experience ....all staff from start to finish were professional and courteous , a special mention for our server Louise who excelled and made our day very special.
Hidden Gem. Great value for a five star hotel. Staff extremely pleasant and come across as very genuine.
Beautiful restaurant, amazing food! Pre theatre menu is great value !! Defo be returning
Birthday celebration. Lovely touch for birthday girl to get candle and culinary delights
We enjoyed a lovely lunch in the Saddle Room on Saturday last. Food was delicious and service was particularly friendly. Thank you all.
Was a somewhat regular visitor here over the years but have noticed over my last several visits that a good restaurant that had great value for money is now a less than average place with really poor. Value for money. As we have discovered this over several trips it's not down to a bad day which any restaurant can be forgiven for having. We won't be
going back in the short to medium term or at last until such time as we hear some good reports again
A little disappointed from my previous visit! My fish course was quite dry & waiter misunderstood due to language & we had 3 side dishes of potatoes which we was such a waste!
Always choose Shelbourne When in Dublin for its friendly atmosphere and staff. First time in the Saddle Rooms for an 80th birthday Wow from the greeting at the door to the fabulous setting and atmosphere. Our lunch was superb we had Hake and Steak cooked to perfection with green veg and dauphinois. Absolutely delicious and various deserts we’re mouthwatering with a good wine and drinks the Hotel provided an impromptu birthday desert for my Aunt to sing Happy Birthday altogether sumptuous. I VE never been more satisfied at the Shelbourne than today. Thank you very much just brilliant as always and great value
I enjoyed every moment in the Sherbourne. The food was amazing and service excellent. We went to the bar afterwards and again 5 out of 5 for attention and service. Can't wait to return
The restaurant is lovely, with very pleasant and professional staff and service. The sauce with the ribeye steak was a little too rich but otherwise the food was great. We go to the restaurant for special occasions fairly regularly, and we’re never disappointed.
The food is gorgeous. The service could have been a little more attentive. The restaurant was not full but I found we had to wait to get the waiters / waitress attention on a number of occasions. As we had a late booking they were
more interested in closing up.
Even with that I would definitely dine here again but before 9pm.
Delayed Main Course with Sorbet apology not good enough for this standard of establishment. Then when fish dishes arrive, fish was overcooked. Starters great, desserts poor.
Fixed 3 course festive menu on 1st Jan for €75. Food was okay, service was very slow even though restaurant was not busy. A few tables had dirty dishes left on them after the diners were long gone, and yet there was someone busy trying to iron a table cloth instead of clearing the dirty dishes. Drinks arrived after the first course and had to ask for bread for my first course of soup!
Comparatively, the Bang restaurant were doing a 6 course taster menu for the same price at €75 and that was a much better dining experience than the Saddle Room.
Fantastic restaurant - pin perfect service and ambiance - food however was only average for the saddle room. Have been a few times before and had a great food experience but this time it was only fair - manager made good on this on bill so trust this was only a blip - will be back soon
We had a lovely Christmas Eve lunch at the saddle room the menu was festive and service was excellent.
The wine list was extensive and well priced.
We had a starter of Crab cocktail followed by Haunch of Venison with a cheese board for afters.
The lunch is double the normal price which i thought a little excessive at €129 per person.
The food was fabulous and I think it was good value my 12 year old was offered a children’s menu and he loved it as the main menu wouldn’t have suited him. Our table was lovely but a bit too secluded for my taste I like to be in the centre of the restaurant but I’ll remember that when I rebook and I will definitely rebook overall wonderful staff and food
Service was exemplary - best that we have experienced in 2019 - the team did everything to ensure we had a great Christmas celebration.
Lovely food, great customer service. €95 set menu a bit pricey as well as paying for sides and water. Perhaps, if coffee is part of the set menu, then a supplement price for an irish coffee would be fair instead of charging full price. I don't frequent establishments like this but it was a lovely experience for Christmas.
This was a wonderful venue but challenged by many patrons, being the height of the holiday season. It was billed on Open Door as being an Irish restaurant, reflected somewhat by limited menu featuring entrees of venison, NY strip, a Vegan harvest-based risotto and a few others which don’t come to mind. The venison was outstanding, the risotto good.
Service was excellent.
Our bill for 2, with 2 cocktails, 2 glasses of wine, appetisers and a shared dessert was €300.
