Been a regular here for years, so I arranged to have my birthday dinner with a friend here. There were a couple of massive tables of office Christmas parties, full of shrieking drunk people and the consequently harassed staff made the ambience so loud, oppressive and unpleasant to be; not the elegant, slick, buzzy place that it usually is. Whilst waiting for my table, I got hit in the head by the contents of someone’s Christmas cracker, had a long wait to get a drink at the bar and was generally pushed around as I was in absolutely everyone’s way because it was so rammed. Thank god the quality of the chefs’ output was still up to the usual standard, that is what saved the dinner. (Especially the crab cake/squid starter!). I love Christmas, but the drunk office parties could have all been kept in the same area instead of in both dining rooms, just for the throats and sanity of those who prefer conversation instead of shouting.... Go for the delicious food, but wait til January!
Overall I had a good experience. Great for meeting a friend for brunch. I didn’t give full stars as the portion sizes were extremely small given the price. I ordered a large eggs royale and it was half a muffin, 1 egg and around 30g of smoked salmon - it was very nice but I have no idea what a small portion would be. The staff were lovely and it was a cool space. I’d go back.
Food was amazing, service was good. Really enjoyable evening with friends
This is a great restaurant, the service is often a little slow.
The rest rooms also a little smelly and might need to be checked more often.
Food great! although generally one would expect the drinks to arrive before the food.
Great buzzy atmosphere, attentive service and the food is amazing.
Great experience, nice place, quiet and good food
Easy to find
Great service and lovely food, thanks for a great lunch!
Very expensive for very average food. Small portions. Service was slow and not very friendly.
Food came out cold
Excellent food, good service. Restaurant area was cold
Nice ambiance and cosy vibe. Food was all delicious although I ordered a large salad and it was pretty small.
Lovely venue - good service, standard of food below average.
We went for the thanksgiving meal
Food: Quality of the whole meal was okay (nothing spectacular, but well executed), I was disappointed with the pumpkin pie... was there any egg in it because it didn't taste like a custard. Proper pumpkin pie is actually a large custard, not a pie... Also the pie crust was not very crumbly. The Whole Foods pumpkin pies are much better.... But for £40? Also they gave us 3 slices of turkey.... for 3 people.... seriously?
Ambience: too loud for conversation.... you have to yell at each other
Service: It was a busy night, so we were given 1.5 hours. That's pretty damn short esp for a celebratory meal like Thanksgiving... Should really give at least 2 hours. The waiter rushed us several times, yet would get to give us cultery to each dessert with... and then they slapped a mandatory 20% service charge for us (we were a table of 3... so not even a large party). That was really too much.
All in all, the meal was mediocre for the price paid (ended up paying £61 per person for the thanksgiving meal + 1 bottle of wine shared between 3). If they lowered their prices, then it would be ok, but for the price, the quality of food and service was not worth it. Wouldn't recommend to others and I won't be coming back.
Rushing people out, particularly when a customer isn’t brought to their table until 15 minutes after they arrived for their reservation, provides a very poor customer experience.
We went for Thanksgiving. The meal was nice, but they seemed more concerned with turning the tables over than with us. They mentioned three time during the meal that we only have the table for 1.5 hours and asked us to leave at 7pm on the dot, which put a damper on it. They forgot our cranberry sauce and gravy. But otherwise a good experience.
Great menu and stylish interior where you want to stay! Delicious cocktails and friendly but professional staff. Great vibe all round.
Lovely little spot, but the service could do with a bit of additional training, also, a couple of items were left off of my Breakfast which was a little annoying.
The food was great, but the service was pretty poor. We had no drinks with our meal, our plates weren’t cleared for 20 minutes after we had finished eating, and we had to ask for a dessert menu after another 20 minutes had passed. A shame, because the food was delicious.
Great evening and great vegan option for me. Nice atmosphere also
Great service and delicious food. No real downsides but a bit quiet when we went at 18:00 (good for hearing each other, but not much buzz).
We had a lovely table though so still nice. Easy 4/5.
Good food and service. Bit loud in restaurant but only a little niggle. Would recommend for brunch
Fantastic service, delicious food, great atmosphere. Service was a little slow because they were busy but we were never rushed in finishing our meal despite there technically being a time slot for the booking
always love the food and the decor. I do think the toilets need sprucing up a little
Don’t bother going if you have not booked. Place is extremely busy for brunch. Even with booking there will be a bit of a wait. That said, staff is very helpful, friendly. Food is absolutely excellent. Definitely recommend... if you’re not in a hurry!
Fantastic menu, which made it hard to choose.
We went for the pancakes, which were amazing.
My only issue was that I'd ordered a side order of poached eggs, which were cold. Nothing too major as they were they were nice and runny.
Service was quick and relatively friendly.
Would definitely go again.
Yum! Great place as always
Great but noisy. Food is good and there are good veggie/vegan options.
Coffee machine not working at breakfast..... only reason a three and not a four
It’s very loud and hectic, service is touch and go but the food is excellent
Great place but book in advance and don’t be late, then you will enjoy to the max. They do have a time constraints.
Whilst service was fast, there was a lack of care and food was plonked on the table without much thought. Pancakes were burnt which isn’t really good enough.
Added a donation to the bill without telling us what it was for. Relies on the bill payer asking what it is, then feeling too guilty to remove it so just have to pay it.
Really great brunch! Service could have been better as had to wait for a table even though we booked and the place was not full.
Great place for brunch. Come here for the atmosphere rather than the food in particular (although the food was good)
Great venue for a leisurely get together with friends. Fab service, friendly maitre de - all great.
A wondeful experience. Great food, excellent service and beautiful venue
Food amazing and service amazing! Third visit on the back of a recommendation by a professional property agent dealing in the restaurant industry. Never fails to disappoint!
Staff were very nice and helpful. Food came out cold for 2 out of 4 people. The restaurant was super cold and never really warmed up. Food was pretty good but nothing extraordinary.
Booked a table for myself and a friend for breakfast after having had a very good experience here a couple of years ago. However the food was absolutely appalling, looked and tasted like something from a cheap roadside cafe. It was as if the chef couldn’t be bothered to cook what was probably the last breakfast of the day before moving on to lunch menu. It was embarrassingly bad. Service was incredibly slow. Will not be returning and will not be recommending.
Cheeseburger patty and its fiddly presentation on a small plate - too small once the chips arrive - leave room for improvement.
Lovely food and good atmosphere. Really enjoyed the coconut chicken bowl
