I took my oldest son for Easter Brunch here and enjoyed a wonderful omelette and Germanic sausages alongside bottomless Mimosas and Bloody's; all at a nice price. Tip is auto-added @18%, something I do not believe in. I usually tip 20+, unless the services is less than very good. The staff was spartan with few waiters and a lack of serving station cooks- keeping the line a good 20 minute ordeal for relatively limited stations of egg, sausage, carvery and pastry/pretzel. As a result overall service was relatively slow, and waitstaff seemingly not motivated to hustle any more/less given their pricing model. All of the above forced us to take our time, which wasn't a horrible thing, but a bit frustrating as we waited in lines or, for service.

Nice beer selection but don't dine here if you want to eat healthy or light. Food was very heavy and salty. Perhaps to sell more beer!

went here after being told it was a 2 hour wait for a table at rev brew pub. i was very pleasantly surprised with the food and service (and no wait at 830 on a friday). they had good vegetarian options, which isn't usually the case at german places.

Service and food were just okay. We were brought (and charged for) mustard that we didn't order. We didn't like one dish -- the pork meatballs were pink and had the texture of undercooked pork. The server explained that they were sous vide. Although this made them safe to eat, it didn't make them taste any better. They were projecting a movie above our heads which had a strobe effect on our table, not the best lighting to eat food under.

Had a really nice brunch experience. They have a brunch special that includes an alcoholic drink, entree and biscuit/donut for 22 bucks. A great deal and everything was so delicious.

The menu is slim and what I had, the pork roast, was really disappointing. It was slathere in some kind of celery chutney on a bed of rice. The pork roast was way overdone, dry and tasteless - unforgivable even for a German restaurant. The red wine I had to accompany was also not good, but that was my fault. Why would I order a German pinot noir? ( Oh, I know. It was because there were only two selections of red by the glass!) My companions had schnitzel and spaetzle and liked them well enough. They also liked their Gruner Veltliner and Radler beer. The waiter seemed abrupt and curt to me. Frankly I was disappointed in the whole show and wouldn't go back again. Too many other better places. (Got a feeling that being hipster should be good enough for everyone.: food should be considered incidental. Well, no.)

First time here...2:30PM on Saturday and no place to park...empty bank lot across street, Radler should strike a deal with them when the bank is not open...however, the place is spotless!...from tableware to the table and chair to the floor...also, linen wife liked (schnitzel) was!...

We came here for a birthday dinner and had 11-12 people. It was great! The server was good about keeping the food coming and the drinks as well! Was energetic and Sean was so nice to come over and make sure we were taken care of a few times. We went to the Whistler after which was a fantastic after dinner party place! :) The blood sausage was a favorite amongst the men, but not my fave. The fried tomatoes were good and also the schnitzel.

I love this place for dinner. I recently went for brunch - not a big "brunch" guy myself. To me this is a GREAT place for dinner and a few awesome beers from their vast menu. I have spent a great deal of time in Germany over the years and I feel I know good German cuisine. If you love German food - this is a must try. If you're not, you're missing out by not giving Radler a try!

We arrived for dinner and we were the first diners to arrive. Within 45 minutes, all tables were filled with happy diners. The food was amazing-- noticed no salt or pepper on the table, and they definitely weren't missed. Great place!

We had a great time at The Radler, the atmosphere is cool and the foot was very good. It was very, VERY loud though and we had a hard time hearing each other making dinner conversation a little difficult.

The food, beer and experience of Germany offers so much potential. Das Radler has every opportunity to bring it to life. The space is wonderful but the food and the drink just lacked that something 'special'. And compared to other meals I've had in Chicago, it's over priced. I'm glad we tried it, but I won't put it on my Recommend list.

our appetizers , our entrees and the tuesday night special 'german street food' we ordered were all delicious, but our server messed up our order . we'd ordered 3 sides to go with our entrees. we were half way through dinner before we realized we'd never received them. when we flagged down our server and asked about them she said, 'oh, i'll see about them'. they finally showed up, 1 at a time, after we'd finished our meal. she never apologized; never explained. eating a bowl of sauerkraut by itself wasn't the plan. these were meant to go with the meal, not afterwards, as if it was dessert!

Nice, modern twist on German traditional foods. Fresh, homemade taste with attention to detail. Everything was delicious and the desserts were exceptionally mouth-watering.

We dined early, so it wasn't crowded or noisy. The food was good, substantial German fare with a nice selection of German and German-style beers, many of the latter from local breweries. Helpings were substantial, and we took home some of the extra - and we're not light eaters.

The two appetizers we ordered were meatballs and a dumpling stuffed with savory and fruit filling. They were both absolutely delicious. The sauerbraten and root vegetables was fabulous. The Pork Schnitzel serving was huge. The portions served were hearty. The restaurant reminds you of a traditional German Beer hall. We loved the toasted rye with barley syrup butter. This is a fun find. Our server was knowledgeable and very accommodating. We had a wonderful experience.

We went to the Radler for an early dinner and ordered the stuffed potato dumplings, two links of Thuringer sausage, and some spaetzle, which was enough for a light dinner between the two of us. Everything was crazy delicious. The sausage came on top of this spring medley of rye berries, asparagus, and green garlic, which lightened up what we kind of expected to be a heavy plate. I loved the spaetzle - it was perfectly buttery with crispy garlic chips on top. The Radler is located in a pretty hip part of town and competes with the likes of Revolution, but its German beer hall feel and unique menu gives it some edge. I'll definitely be back for more!

Food and beer was great. Highly recommend the wurst plates and anything with potato in it (most of the menu).

Service, for our table, wasn't the greatest. Saw our server maybe three times for the two hours we were there eating and drinking. However, from looking at other tables, it seemed every one was well taken care of. Maybe it was just an off day for our guy...

As a group of 3, we sampled most of the appetizers and sides along with the schnitzel. It was all delicious. The Radler has reformed by misconceptions of German food. Everything we sampled was so tasty and rather light.

My husband and I were out in Logan Square this past weekend and hoping to stop by Longman Eagle but to no one's surprise they were packed. I hopped on Open Table and Radler had an opening within 20 minutes so we headed there not really sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by the great German beer selection - they had Dunkel Weiss on TAP which is rare to find, not to mention a few radlers to choose from. We were then presented with our dishes - Duck and Pork Schnitzel. While both were delicious I was most impressed with the duck. It was a combo plate of duck wurst and duck breast atop a parsnip mustard sauce. Everything was cooked perfectly and the side of spaetzle was extremely tasty, albeit a bit salty. While we didn't have our little one with us there were a few families there which felt right at home. Overall, I'd recommend checking this one out - I can't wait to go again. My only complaint - they don't have pork knuckle!

Great beer selection if that is your thing. With nothing to absorb sound, it was noisy and difficult to converse. We were hoping for more traditional German fare. It almost felt as if they were trying too hard to put a new twist on delicious traditional German dishes such as schnitzel and sauerbraten, but the adaptations were not improvements in my opinion. The schnitzel (pork, not veal) was dry, and the sauerbraten was not tender as it should have been if properly marinated. The duck entree was the best of the 3.
