Wonderful restaurant serving exceptionally good food. Services was excellent and the ambience was cosy. The garden is very pretty and a great place to enjoy a drink before dinner. Certainly the best pub in the area!
Limited special menu, but good value and well presented and exceptional quality
Really excellent food as usual here - unusually prepared fillet steak was both interesting and tasty. Relaxed and friendly service.
Fantastic food, great for Sunday lunch. Very friendly staff, great service. Will most certainly be going back. Can’t wait.
One of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a long time. My husband had the king prawns as a starter which were really tasty, both our roast dinners were excellent and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for. We will definitely be back for more!
Excellent Sunday lunch again. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff - very friendly and accommodating. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and children are made to feel very welcome. Would highly recommend.
This time we came for my sons birthday and he his wife (together with their 4 week old baby and ourselves were made most welcome
The food was excellent and a good time was had by all of us
Our son lives in Epping we live in Chelmsford so it’s the perfect foodie eating place for us
We found the food and service good, but it was a bit noisy as tables are placed very close to each other.
Lovely relaxed lunch and very good value. Will definitely recommend to friend's.
Very cosy restaurant, delicious food and friendly staff...perfect for a warming winter Sunday lunch
As always the queens head provides a cosy ambience an upmarket environment and high quality food .Thank you
Love this Restaurant, best in Brentwood, think it is underated
As always a great place for a relaxing meal with tasty food very pleasant staff always smiling , locals are real British folk ... not rowdy just enjoying a meal or drink with friends ...what more could you want ?!
We were seated for most of our meal on our own upstairs which we found to have no atmosphere as there was only the 2 of us. But the food was verve good
The best Sunday roast I’ve had in a while, cheesecake is superb
I am sorry to say the service was v slow. This didn’t affect our experience at all as we had lots of catching up to do . Once the drinks had been ordered it took a long time and we had to request the menus.
Cosy friendly amazing food country winter atmosphere lovely for a Sunday roast dinner
Our third visit to this gastro pub. Fantastic selection on the menu, plus an additional Christmas menu. Portion size good, service good, lively and friendly atmosphere, 10 out of 10.
Not really for vegetarians had to ask the chief what he could do. Mushroom linguine which was greasy, small portion. Expensive evening, wouldn’t go again. Sorry.
Dinner was really good. There’s a real cosy intimate feel especially in winter with candles lit and the log fires. Food was terrific. Every course was lovely and beautifully presented, with the best of it being a wonderful Rabbit Casserole!! Service is prompt and friendly and overall thought it was excellent value for money.
We are regulars at the Queens Head which says a lot . Food / Service / Ambience were excellent as always. We are moving away from the area in a few weeks and this is one place we will miss going to 😢
Beautifully cooked and presented food easy comfortable surrounding will def be goin back
Regular visitor, food is always superb, high quality restaurant standard. Large selections of beers & wines.
Wonderful lunch as always
Never been disappointed
First time i have taken friends there
They were really impressed
Too many old pubs have missed the boat in updating to the current lifestyle of wining and dining. So many resort to full-on restaurants and lose the ambience and clientele for those who want their local pub. The Queen's Head is both a local pub and an exquisite dining venue. The warm, cosy atmosphere and cheerful, helpful efficient staff blended with superb food made this a night to remember for our special anniversary dinner. It may be small but it is a gem worth seeking out.
Yet another very tasty Sunday lunch at the Queens Head.
The Queens Head lift the average pub Sunday dinner to a higher level. Okay it costs around a 1/3 more than other local pubs, but the quality of cooking, ingrediants, presentation and staffing levels take the meal to a different level. It made the date a really memorable occasion.
quality food quality service really good atmosphere try this place you will not be disappointed
Very good lunch, good value for money, would definitely recommend to friends, and would plan to return
Excellent in every aspect, as always. This pub/restaurant is first clsss and so glad to hear they have won Essex pub of the year. So well deserved as this couple and their staff put in so much hard work.
Recommended as a good food pub by my brother. Went for my partners birthday.
Ambiance and service good. Sunday menu only available and fish special all ready sold out.
Starters and desert were good but the roast dinner? If I had been to a commercial chain l would have been disappointed.
Meat grisly and tough, not real roast potatoes, broccoli more raw than al dente.
Side of cauliflower cheese was good.
Potatoes mentioned to staff with response of will let the chief know.
We have dined at the Queens Head on a number of occassions over the years since we moved into the area and have always had a top class meal, compliments to the chef! (and the staff)
We had a fabulous evening celebrating our 27th anniversary. We had heard so much about the food etc but never been before. Was truly so happy with the food , and atmosphere, wine etc. Will be booking again very soon. Thankyou
One of our favourites - we had a lovely evening with friends - food and service great as always
A wonderful meal as always. I went with a friend who hadn't been before and she was very impressed and intends to make a return visit. So lucky to live in this village with such a great pub on my doorstep.
Good food lovely atmosphere a very friendly pub with helpful staff
My husband's birthday
Went for lunch. Good selection on lunchtime specials board and food was nicely presented by very friendly staff, in fact, they were very helpful as one of our group is coeliac. Would definitely recommend the Queens Head.
Although we were 10 minutes late due to road blockages, we were sent 'the long way round ' but when we eventually arrived, the front of house staff were very welcoming.
The menu was very interesting and diverse- then the specials were offered!!!!!
Spoilt for choice!
When the food arrived it was worth waiting for ( not that we had to wait long)
I even had pudding!!
The decor was sophisticated without being over the top.
The whole experience was very enjoyable.
This is the third time we have eaten at this venue - once Christmas Eve - once taking my son and his family to lunch - once friends meeting for lunch - have not been disappointed once. Highly recommend this venue.
